Meeting the unexpected

His eyes were locked with mine. He snarled as I quickly stepped back out of fear. I felt everyone's eyes glaring at me, I pressed my books near my chest and looked back at them once again, and then the male started to speak with his deep groaning voice,

"Why is a cat doing in the K-nine section?"

I blinked a few times and then actually looked around. Everyone gave me a dumbfounded look as they started to whisper to each other. I gulped and bowed my head,

"I'm sorry…I..."

The moment I was about to apologize, the other male cut in by grabbing my jawline and forcefully lifting my chin so we could make eye contact. A shiver started to run down my spine when his hot breath brushed against my face. He replied to me with a furious tone,

"Get the fuck out."

I couldn't stop staring at his deep fearsome eyes. The moment he loosened his grip, I nodded and ran out of the section without looking back. The male looked at his palm and clenched it. His buddies started to surround him and started to mock me and make jokes about me.

I panted heavily while leaning down, grabbing my knees. Sweat started to drip onto the floor. I whipped the sweat off my chin and stood straight. I shrugged the heavy thoughts that were filling my head. I walked through the hallway and finally got into my class. The teachers adjusted his round glasses and looked at me with a serious expression. I growled and stormed inside, stood next to the teacher. He sighed, looked at me with disappointment, but because it was the first day, the teacher thought to give me an excuse.

"Well, we just finished introducing each other. How about you introduce yourself first."

I cleared my throat and grabbed the chalk, and started to write down my name on the blackboard. After I was done with it, I placed the chalk down and looked back at the class. I rubbed the back of my head and rolled my eyes away. I started to speak with a dull tone,

"My name is Ryon Hyun-woo. I like games also I'm a beta."

Everyone looked at each other and began the whisper to each other. The old man clapped his hands and looked up at me,

"Go to your seat Mr. Hyun."

I nodded and walked to the back, and took a seat. Then I took out my phone and plugged my earphone into it. Started to listen to music. The guy next to me patted my shoulder and smiled brightly,

"We met again huh? Ryon Hyun-woo"

I startled a bit and looked at the male, I tried to remember where I have seen him, and after thinking for a while I finally remembered where I met him,

"Kyo Minjun, right?"

The male chuckled and nodded,

"ding ding ding! You got it"

I smiled at him. When I was about to reply to him, the teacher started to yell at us so, we both put our heads down and went back to work. I kept looking at the clock, wondering about when the class was going to end. The teacher clapped his hands and tried to get our attention. I lifted my head and looked at him. He grabbed a small brown paper package and smiled,

"Today, you all going to receive an ID everything about all of you has been updated into this. Also, the exams you took before entering this school, the results have been updated as well."

I blinked for a while and started to fade into my thoughts,

"Exam…? Like the entry exams…? No…that's not it…wait the exam we took about what type of"

My thoughts got cut off when the guy in front of me started to call out my name. I looked at him and saw that he was holding my ID card. I bowed my head and took the card from him. I looked at the card to see that I was a beta and nothing had changed. I sighed in relief. Out of curiosity. I decided to peek to see what type of range Kyo Minjun was at, he looked confused and I saw his hands were shivering. I patted his shoulder as he gasped. He looked at me and laughed awkwardly. I tilted my head and asked if he was okay, but he decided to ignore my question, making me even more curious. When I was about to ask him the same question but, the bell started to ring. Everyone stood up and bowed their heads but, I couldn't take my eyes off Kyo Minjun.

When he was about to leave the room, I tried to approach him but, I was too late. He quickly exited the classroom with his head hanging low. The day went like a blur. Me and Kyo Minjun didn't exchange a single word with each other.

I couldn't stop looking at him. Like that, my first day at my new school ended. I gripped on to my bag as I departed the school. I looked down at my phone, changing songs. When I was about to reach the school gate, I heard a girl screaming.

I removed my earplug and looked in the direction where the sound came from. I rushed towards the back of the school. I hid behind the turning corner and peeked. There were a muscular male and a fragile female, who I observed to have features of a cat. He grabbed her throat and began to choke her. My body started to move on my own. The moment he saw me. He dropped the girl as I got between them. I looked up at the male. My eyes began to widen and started to fill with fear.

The same red eyes that looked like he killed so many people, he looked down at me with a smirk. My ears immediately moved back and, my tail started to curl up. The male grabbed his chin and started to laugh,

"What can a fucking cat like you do against a dog like me?"

My body felt frozen and, I felt like my heart stopped and my mind went hasty. My mind was all over the place.

"He is right…what can a cat like me do against a dog like him…fuck…what was I thinking."

I kept that thought to myself. He watched me struggle with amusement. I shivered and kept staying in front of the girl. Then someone started to call out the male's name. His head turned towards the male who looked like a lion. He folded his arms and looked at the male,

"Yo, Ping Nam- sun, stop playing with those kids, and let's go."

I looked at the male and then at the lion. The male growled and started to rub the back of his head with frustration,

"whatever…you had to ruin my fun huh? Leon"

He picked up his bag and started to follow the guy named Leon as they fought while they walked off. I sighed and looked behind at the girl. The girl blushed and smiled happily. I looked at her as a soft red flush appeared across my face. She thanked me and ran off. I smiled at her and started to mutter softly,

"Cute~"

I shook my head and started to walk off while gripping my bag strap,

"I need to get stronger."

I mumble to myself.
