6 Explorer. [Day 3]

After a quick breakfast, Rex and I head down the river. Today I want to explore further down and around the river area and to see if we can find anything new.

There is something oddly satisfying walking in beautiful woodland with your pet wolf, although it is nice, I do also make sure that I keep an eye on the surroundings, don't make the same mistake three times.

Lucky, I did, or I would have missed an animal that I have not too seen before. Peaking its head out of the forest area I see what a copy of a deer from Earth is but much more muscular and having sharper antlers.

[Race: Stag, Sex: Female, Rank: G]

Before we can get any further it notices us and faster than we can blink it bolts back into the woods disappearing.

Me: "Well Rex I think that is the first animal we have seen that has not tried to instantly kill us." I say whilst looking towards Rex. Rex just tilts his head to the side.

Me: "Come on let's continue." Saying that I continue to walk, and Rex goes on a little ahead.

It was a good walk around so far with Rex and I killing off a couple of horned rabbits and finding a group of Eiri.

[You levelled up: 0/15 -> 1/15 ]

[Gained 2 Unassigned Stat Points.]

During this time, it got very annoying getting two sets of announcements saying that I have gained experience than another saying that my companion gained experience. This made me curious about if you can interact with the system so calling out, I asked the system to turn of companions EXP notification.

[You will no longer receive companions EXP notifications]

Calling out to the system I tried to ask it for information about the companion's part of the system, but I sadly received no information. Doesn't seem that the system likes telling me much.

With the sun shining down on us we cross the scream and decide to explore the other side. It was when we were walking down that Rex stopped and started inspecting a bush close to a tree.

Getting closer I move the bush to the side and see that it is a bucket. An odd thing to find. Someone must have left it here.

Me: "Rex do you know where this came from."

*Bark*

Quickly following Rex as he starts to follow the trail that he can smell as even though my senses are improved, I don't think I could follow a trail this old; they will still not be better than Rex's for now.

After a quick jog, I can start to see the outline of a village. Once closer I can see that many of the houses are destroyed and rotting. They all seem to be wooden houses with thatched roofs.

There are basic "walls" to the village which is just spiked stakes surround it but most of them are destroyed.

Coming inside of the village I see that it is completely abandoned with everything falling about, things like pots have been thrown around. Going inside of the houses I see that tables have been tipped over and chairs are thrown around. Looks like the village left in a hurry. Although looking closely especially at the floor there are lots of claw marking mainly around the doors and on the table itself.

The village must have left then once some animals attacks. Lucky for me it seems to have been a long time ago based on the dust in the house and the fact that much of the place is rotting.

The chances are low, but it might be a good idea to explore all the houses and see if the people left anything behind in their escape.

Going through all the houses I did manage to find some good things.

> backpack (Common), shirt (Common), Trousers (Common).

With the backpack, I could now store the other things that I found like a frying pan, pots, and leather water flask which I found. Useful finds but nothing was amazing but hopefully, this last house will be the best as I left it for last on purpose as from the looks of the outside it seems to be a blacksmith.

With its chimney sticking out and the open forge it has, I am hoping for equipment. Walking to the blacksmiths I see that the sky is starting to get a little cloudy and if it rains, I might have to stay here. I think I can survive for a night as I could use one of the beds where which are quite like mine in the cave as it is just furred just place on a bed frame.

Entering the blacksmiths, the forge fireplace is falling apart with ashes falling out of it. I see that many of the tools have been taken and only what looks like the broken or crappy tools have been left. Seeing how bad the tools conditions are there is no point in taking them.

Heading further in I am met with a familiar sight with table and chairs are thrown around. Going out of the living room and into the bedroom I am met with something the other houses didn't have which is a chest. Getting closer to the chest I see that it has a padlock on it. With no key, my best bet is trying to smash it off seeing how broken it looks. Grabbing my rock, I hit as hard as I can hoping for the best. It doesn't break instantly by I do see the loop part attached to the chest loop become a bit loose. It is then after a few more hits that the lock comes off.

Please be something good. Opening the chest, I find that my luck is on my side as there is a large greatsword, scabbard with belt in the chest along with a wet stone.

> Iron Forged Great Sword (Uncommon)

A great sword forged by a novice blacksmith whose life's work was creating this sword. It is well forged being well balanced with a wide crossguard and quality leather handle.

> Great Sword Scabbard (Uncommon)

A great sword scabbard made by a novice blacksmith who specifically designed this with help from a mage to be worn on the back of a person for easy carrying but still quick drawing ability.

This is the best find yet, with this I now have a proper weapon although when I was a kid, and I played this kind of game I was more a mage but seeing how I don't know any magic and I need to survive I will take what I can get.

Attaching the scabbard to my back which is just a large belt that goes around my waist and across my chest I then pick up the great sword which I seem to be able to pick up reasonably well. I then put it in the scabbard which makes the sword reach my legs.

Man, I feel badass and feeling good for my journey.
