His First Spirit Ring

Li Yan slowly opens his eyes, having gradually woken up from a dream like state, he quickly finds himself to be in an unfamiliar place.

Stranded alone by himself in an unknown forest, the forest trees were extremely huge in comparison to himself. His body was quite small, weak and fragile resembling that of a pre-adolescent (human) child.

One who possesses an untrained body that has not even touched or step foot down the path of a martial artist, but his natural animalistic instincts as a mammal who gradually evolved from wild apes that used to roam freely in Africa, told him that the forest that he was in was not safe, and is extremely dangerous.

Li Yan woke up, stumbling to get up and standing on his own two feet, whilst maintaining his balance, clearly indicating that he has some difficulty adjusting to his new much smaller body.

Prior to waking up and getting stranded within the great reaches of the outer edges of Stardou Forest, Li Yan's memories were quite obscurely hazy, but not major enough to effect his daily.

He could not remember much of who he was onced was; his friends, family, and much of his personal life, except for his name and a few other things, almost like it was purposely wiped out cleanly from his memory for some intended purpose. For one he doesn't quite know.

'Where am I?' Li Yan thought so to himself.

As he took a quick glance at his entire surroundings, surveying through the place, observing the movements of the forest with his naked eye, but he found nothing of great importance that noticeably caught his eye.

*Rustle* *Rustle*

It was then that Li Yan heard some rustling noises amongst the trees, high above the tree branches, the tree leaves were brushing about quite violently. And some of the tree leaves have fallen, almost like it purposely shaken off a branch or stripped off by something or someone. Possibly, a creature that would jump from tree to tree quite often.

From out of no where, an injured yellow vervet monkey then drops down, having accidentally broken the weak tree branch that it was on.

Its injured body then weakly tumbles down to the ground, with a loud thud, sending outward a small debris of dust and loosed tree leaves scattering on about around it. It manages to draw Li Yan's attention with the loud ruckus it is creating.

'What is it? It sort of reminds me, resembling some form of monkey.' Li Yan thought to himself, as he collected information and inferred based upon his recent observation.

He didn't quite have long to make an accurate observation of the specimen, but was able to take notice of the creature's primate like stature, walking on two feet and its hands like an actual monkey. Furthermore, it was incredibly injured, almost like it has been in a fight with a ferocious (spirit) beast, and was barely able to escape with its own life.

The yellow vervet monkey when it is standing up straight, reaches upwards towards about half the average male adult's height, approximately 3'5 ft. (104 cm).

Resembling an average vervet monkey that originated from Africa on planet Earth, but its fur is more yellowish than brown, with its two frontal arms being slightly more buff lean and muscular when compared to its usual skinny physique.

'It's incredibly injured, and if I dared to get closer to it, it may see me as a threat, a possible danger to its life in which it wants to quickly eliminate.' Li Yan thought, having come to a reasonable decisions based upon his understanding of the situation.

However, things aren't that simple as Li Yan once thought, with the heavily injured yellow vervet monkey struggling desperately to get up, unable to support itself. It falls down upon its knee, with one arm pushing against the ground.

It seems to be clutching onto something tightly, within its left arm, as if it is something precious and worth protecting. Li Yan was barely able to make out when he happened upon a horrible discovery, it was the dead carcass of a infant yellow vervet monkey.

'Oh, god! Is that a dead baby monkey within its arms...' Li Yan immediately thought, as his body then instinctively taken a step back.

"Could the injured monkey possibly be the mother of the dead infant." Li Yan said, having assumed, as he spoke in a low inaudible tone, whispering, imperceptible to the now grieving injured yellow vervet monkey.

The injured yellow vervent monkey was only a ten years old spirit beast, its strengths were extremely limited, thereby lacking a major factor in its combat capabilities in order to defend against other wild spirit beasts. Adding to the fact that the mother yellow vervet monkey is a single parent, without a father, still carrying her child wherever she go, made them an easy target for other's to hunt.

"Wraghhh! Growl!" The sounds of the mother yellow vervet monkey grying.

Crying in the depths of her pain, as she shouts out towards the heavens and sky, at the top of its lungs. Shouting 'Why did you take away my child? He done nothing to deserve it... why,' or something along those line.

Whilst, clutching hardly onto the dead carcass of her child in her left arm, and not letting it go, like her dear life depended on it.

It was pretty sad sight to behold, watching it from Li Yan's perspective, he showed a sympathetic look for the grieving mother and her dead child. It was pretty simple to accept the fact that it was done out of necessary for survival, a creature eats creature world, where the strong preys on the weak.

'I should probably get out of here.' Li Yan thought so to himself.

Li Yan then slowly takes a step back, whilst remaining vigilant, constantly observing his the grieving yellow vervet monkey and its dead child, when he accidentally stepped on a tree branch.

It then snaps in half, creating a slightly loud cracking sound which then broke the grieving moody atmosphere.

The grieving injured yellow vervet monkey then stops crying and anxiously look towards Li Yan's direction, where the sound of the breaking tree branch is emanating from. It sensed fear and caution from him, inferred from his tense body language.

The yellow vervet monkey then deemed the child Li Yan as not a threat, since it holds no sort of enmity between them. After all, Li Yan was only a human child, child that kinds of reminds her of her dead child.

However, for some unknown reason, or it was decided by fate, a strange unknown force by nature is drawing her closer towards the boy.

Sensing a glimpse of hope, a possible feeling of a way to somehow revived her dead child. It was a instinctive feeling in her gut, something that would literally defy common sense. Even if it is delusional, it was her only hope of seeing her dead child once again.

A mother would do anything in order to protect her dear child, even if it means offering up her soul to the devil for just a slight chance in order to save her dead child's soul and life.

The madly driven mother yellow vervet monkey, with the dead carcass of her child still held within her arms, she began to make a mad dash towards Li Yan's direction. Rushing towards Li Yan on all four (three).

Li Yan was caught by surprise, frightened out of his dear life, as he accidentally trips over himself and fall onto his butt.

Scared for his life, with no other method to fend for himself, he subconsciously raised the both of his hands upwards in an attempt to block the raging yellow vervet monkey's charge attack. If the mother yellow vervet monkey ever intended to harm him in the first place.

Li Yan then turns his head facing away, afraid to get hurt, but the mother yellow vervet monkey did not even landed a blow on him, much less even harm a hair upon his body.

The mother yellow vervet monkey didn't even managed to reached him, when Li Yan have his hand covering his face, the silver spirit mark on the back of his right hand then began to light up. It then releases an intensely bright white light, as a majestic white silver spirit grimoire then appears floating before him.

The white silver spirit grimoire seems to emanate a sense of profoundness, seamlessly capable of seeing through and unraveling the many mysteries of the world.

The white silver spirit grimoire then opens up by itself, whirling through the many pages within the book, as lines of golden text written in some unknown languages began to appear in some of the book's pages.

The ancient text, written in gold ink, seems to have some sort of profound meaning, when chanted would then invoke some sort of special effects or strange phenomenon. As a mysterious voice then ensures, loudly emanating from the white silver spirit grimoire, as it resounded inside all those are present within the facility.

The ten years old mother yellow vervet monkey then falls into a trance, having willfully submitted itself to the mysterious voice. Her mangled body strangely enough began to be engulf in white light.

The white light rapidly engulfs the entire body of the mother yellow vervet monkey, which disassemble into particles of light, when the only thing that was left of her was her own soul nucleus which has then been transformed into a white spirit ring. The white spirit ring then revolves magnanimously around the dead carcass of the infant yellow vervet monkey.

All of the floating particles of light and the remaining lifeforce of the disassembled mother yellow vervet monkey began to rapidly enter the dead infant yellow vervet monkey's body, restoring the dead body to good health, as well restarting its heart beat.

Whilst, resurrecting the dead infant yellow vervet monkey, in exchanged for whatever little life the mother yellow vervet monkey still has left. The offer seems good for a parent's perspective, the parent's life is sacrificed in order to save its only child, when compared to the two dying a tragic death.

The lifeforce of its mother and her cultivation base is then added onto the infant yellow vervet monkey, thereby forcefully advancing the creature's growth phase, from infant stage to early adolescent.

Once the resurrection is completed, the newly revived infant yellow vervet monkey is then immediately sucked into the white silver spirit grimoire.

A page within the spirit grimoire is thereby filled with the detailed entry of the newly revived yellow vervet monkey, displaying the creature's stats and abilities, all written within a single book.

[You have successfully absorbed the ten years old white spirit ring {Yellow Vervet Monkey}! Your cultivation base is thereby alleviated by 1 level!]

[You have successfully been promoted from Spirit Scholar realm to Spirit Master realm!]

[Your overall base attribute stats has been increased!]

A mysterious voice then resounded inside of Li Yan's head, as lines of written text detailing what just happened then appears in the recorded log entry of the book.

It happened almost instantly, the spirit absorption rate of the ten years old yellow vervet monkey was extremely easy, since it willingly offered up its own life to save her dead cub, and not put up with a struggle. It was much easier to absorb the spirit ring at a maxed efficiency rate.

Li Yan's body suddenly felt refreshed and filled with vigor, pulsating with some sort of energy. This is Li Yan's first time grasping a hold of the concept of spiritual energy.

The spiritual energy that resides within Li Yan's body have become slightly a bit stronger and more purer, clearly indicating of his most recent breakthrough. And the connection between himself and the spirit grimoire having become apparently stronger.
