Chapter 02- Adorable Baby

"What? is that your child? Where is the mother of the child?"

"Master who is the mother of this child?"

"Migara, how could you hide the fact you remarried from us? Isn't us your friends?"

"Migara, when did you remarry?"

People started to ask question one after another at that time. After hearing this shout child were cried even more than previously. After seeing the situation Migara decided to leave the ferry and went to the village near the port without answering any questions of the people on the ferry quickly.

"Hey! Why he is left like this? Do we tell the wrong thing?"

"How could he leave us without answering?"

"Indeed. How could he do that to us?"

"Hey friend, I don't think Migara work like this"

"According to his character this couldn't happen."

"Don't you think that child came from out of wedlock"

"What? How could you say that"?

"Think about it. If he remarried, he surely tells it all people he knows. Isn't it?"

"You are right. That means that child is result of unexplainable relationship. Isn't it?"

"I think this child came from prostitute in capital. Think about it. Normally when he left to capital he will come here in day or two. But this time he took month. I think he should have stayed there to receive that child."

"Indeed. You are thinking right. That should be happened there."

People started to speculate the birth of baby in Migara hand. In the meanwhile, Migara went to the village next to ferry and asked milk from villagers. Villagers looked at him excitedly and soon they saw bay child in Migaras' hand. Women looked at this crying baby with concern and one women came forward while was asking, "Give me your baby to my hands. I can give milk to this baby."

"Okay" Migara handover child to this woman and she took baby into her hands while was looking at her.

 "This girl is so beautiful. You are so fortunate "women said and started to breastfed to baby girl while was being in a side.

"Thank you" Migara said women with gratitude.

"It's okay. How could I let adorable girl like her in hunger?" woman said while was cradling baby in her hands. Other people was looked at baby girl in women side a while and left to do their works.

"Is there another boatman in village?" Migara asked one villagers who was passerby.

"Yes. There is. Why that?"

"I want to pass the river. Where is he?"

"Now he should be fishing in river. Go through this road till meet river. You may see him. "

"Okay. Thank you"

"It is okay.' Man said and went to do his work.

"Hey! You can take her. She is very active girl. "women handover baby to Migara again. Baby girl was sleeping very quietly. It was beautiful sight to Migara. Looking at the direction of Migara woman said, "Isn't she sleeping well?" with hushed tone.

"Thank you for your help" Migara said while was tried to give some money to women.

"No need. I only done small help. You have to find nanny to rise her in future." Women said and Migara nodded his head as agreeing her advice while was walking on the way directed by villager. After walking some moment, he found a canoe that stationed on river while was roping it on stone in river.

Migara placed baby girl on flower meadow beside on river side and came nearer to river shore. After that he said,

"Hey boatman, hey boatman "

"Who are you talking?"

"I am travelling to Nagamani town. I want to pass river. Can you give me ride?"

"Isn't there float in ferry. Why not board in there?"

"I have a little girl. She is afraid to crowd. So I want to another way to pass river safely. Can you help us?"

"Okay. Give me two silver Massa for ride."

"Okay "Migara said and boatman started to ride his canoe to shore. While that time Migara took Maththa to her hand from meadow and went to shore again to board in canoe. After that he boarded into canoe and it was started to flow through river slowly.

"Maththa, now we are going to your new home "Migara said while was looking at girl with caring eyes.

Nagamini town- Ancient town or city in Sri Lanka
