I was getting driven insane by Shenhe truly, she literally was unaware of the effects her appearance and actions had on someone she wasn't tearing apart or treating as coldly and distantly as she could.

"Hmm... The bone marrow is melting into the stock, do you like mushrooms and carrots in your soup?" She asked conversationally.

When I answered in agreement, she no longer leaned forward and I grunted as her full back leaned against my chest and with her height, my face naturally had to rest on her shoulder as she took out a couple of inches of thick wooden cutting board and some other implements to put on her legs as she then took out a knife and began chopping up the carrots with loud clanking noises ringing out at how she effortlessly cut the carrots apart into tiny pieces.

"Don't you think this is. Kinda too intimate?" I eventually asked dryly. I knew that Shenhe wasn't some easy woman or whatever. But her actions towards myself, who lived within the popular society rules, I had no idea what was going on in her head honestly.

Shenhe paused her motions of cutting the mushrooms into slices and for a moment the only sound was the sounds of the crackling of the well-stocked fire that was boiling the soup. Finally, though Shenhe broke the silence as she began to speak softly. "Your soul... It's comforting to me. I don't feel nearly as strong murderous impulses around you due to your calming soul that's pressing against my body."

'My aura is calming her own soul?' I thought in some interest before she wiggled around before sighing while my eyebrow twitched as her backside all but ground itself within my lap as she got comfortable.

"As for intimacy..." Shenhe started somewhat haltingly and paused for a moment before she continued. "I feel comfortable with you, and thus I wish to remain in physical contact with you." Shenhe spoke and I wore a wry smile as I realized that Shenhe herself was going through her own emotions in this situation. "I feel... Cold and disquieted at the thought of you leaving my sight, I feel anxious at the thought of remaining home in Liyue while you go to Inazuma."

Shenhe twitched and then she suddenly sat up and while I looked up at her, she simply turned around and sat down again on my lap but this time facing me with her long legs wrapped around my chair's keeping me pinned into the chair with her weight as her knees pushed up the cloth arms of the fold out chair. Regardless of how she sat on my lap this time, my entire focus was on Shenhe herself.

She was making full eye contact with me and her gaze was heavy with intent as she spoke after what seemed like a full minute of eye contact as we tried to sus out the other's thoughts. "Why don't you stay here in Liyue? My master is one of the greatest weapon masters within the world of Teyvat, and you could also learn the Adepti Arts along with myself." She asked finally and I blinked at the thought before automatically shaking my head making Shenhe's pale eyes close in contemplation as I responded.

"I am sorry Shenhe," I said apologetically. "Just before the attack on Liyue I got a mission to Inazuma and I became the Electro Archon's disciple. She is expecting me in a couple of days and not only do I wish to learn from her, but standing up a god I made a promise to. Sounds like a stupid thing to do." I finished wryly.

Like what the hell would happen if I did stand up Ei, and she decided to ride the lightning as it were all the way to Liyue and confronted Zhongli/Morax on how they were keeping me from her own tutelage and Morax decided to say something like Adepti arts were better than simple swordsmanship or whatever from Ei...

I think there would be a couple fewer mountains in Liyue after such an event.

Shenhe merely stared at me for a second before she blinked and then she pulled my head into her breasts like how she first got me to go onto this quest. "Will you come home with me now?" "Very well, I am glad that you welcome me on your adventure Jake. Ah, I cannot wait to see how well I can sleep tonight as I hold you within my arms." She said with a bit of warmth and expectation in her voice that made me deadpan as I realized this crazy would-be cultivator was going to be a shoe-in for the harem with how I could already see Lumine all but drooling over her.

'Actually, how is Lumine and Eula right now?' I idly wondered as I finally got to dig into my soup unaware of how Lumine was currently screaming out of frustration at needing to do her own jump puzzles and needing to walk across Teyvat without my summons to cart us around.
