CHAPTER 9: WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?

TAYLA

Even on my day off I got used to clean the mansion as my morning routine every day. Unless, I am not around that's understandable.

Now, I had my early dinner already. I was not able to rest after I went home. Chatting with friends after than I could not sleep. Why? Because I keep on recalling about last night.

'How could I be so stupid to give my first time to a stranger?'

I was staring the dark ceiling in my room. I already turned my lights off so that I could sleep. I do not know that stranger I met could not take out of my brain.

It was my first time feeling drawn to that moment. A strange feeling could not explain. Thinking about him not knowing I was already drifted off to sleep.

I woke up with my usual time in the morning to do my duty inside the mansion. It was not necessarily very early because it was not too dusty.

I already showered and put on my uniform. I was schedule to clean the study room. It was not that easy task because I need to take out the books from each shelf.

Maria instructed me not to disarrange the proper set up if I clean the study room. I am going to be there quite a while.

Walking towards the kitchen for breakfast, I found Maria eating.

"Good morning, Maria!" Greeting here with my cheerful smile.

"Good morning, Tay!" She greeted back. "Come on join me."

I grabbed my own plate with spoon and fork. I poured some coffee unto my cup.

"I am going to clean the study room today." I told her.

"Okay, just be careful using the ladder." She reminded. "I know you are strong and young but still be careful." I nodded.

We ate silently as usual. Maria is a person that does not talk too much. Even the people working outside. We just talked o greeted a little but not personal stuffs. I got used to it. As long as they knew my name or me as to them.

That's one of the reasons I love this job. Aside from I am the only one maid who clean inside the mansion. No complications, no gossips and they are all professionals.

What you see or hear inside the mansion should not be flows outside. That's what things they maintain.

I finished my breakfast and went to the second floor to start working inside the study room. Yes, it was located the same floor with my room I am using.

There is one room that I am not allowed to clean is the boss' office. It was located downstairs. It was always lock and only him can access that.

Anyway, back to study room. I know I have a longer time in here. There are so many books that were interesting. Also, some books were confidential that I am not allowed to open it.

There are four columns big shelves in the left side as you enter the study room. I only take it down with the ones not in the glass.

Of course, that glass shelves have locks. Without glass shelves are like what we see in the public library. And the study room of my master were a little like that. Why? Because the books were all labelled as where it should be put. It was easily return after using just like in every aisle in the school library.

I always feels like I am in a expensive library indeed. The shelves were attached from the wall. His decent desk was facing towards the door. There is also a comfortable setting. It was just spacious place to move around.

We have a study room in our house but not as big as this. This room is beyond that I am willing to stay here all the time.

I used the ladder to reach the top shelves. I do not clean it every day but once or twice a month will do. Her master is not here anyway so it is not often use.

I continue cleaning for top to bottom in first column. It was not to higher that reaches the ceiling. The ladder I am using not too tall.

I was so busy cleaning the shelves when my stomach was growling from hunger. I must have been dedicated with work that I forgot the time. I finished the three column and down to one before I clean the remaining entire surface.

But before that I have to eat my late lunch into an early dinner. I am so a little exhausted but I have to do my job well. No jobs are easy. You need to work for a living. I am blessed I was born to have a parent with money. Not much but still can give our needs.

Now I am on my own, I should not complain about life. It is better this way than being in my parents' house. I do not want them to control my life. I miss them so much.

I sighed as I reached the kitchen. Maria was nowhere in sight. I guess, she is in her room or somewhere else in the mansion.

I haven't gone to any side of the mansion especially outside. Those past months I was busy with my studies and work. It is hard for me to roam around the area. Maybe one time I will since I have two weeks break from school.

I got to finished my meal without seeing Maria. She is always the best cook. I love how delicious it is.

I went back to the study room to finish the last shelves. Save the best for last. I love the last shelves because it has a classic book to read. It has also had old comics collections, books of teens during 80's to 90's era.

It was rare to see something like that in this generations. I was done cleaning everything including the surroundings inside the study room. I put my cleaning tools aside and went back to the last shelves.

I was still using the ladder to pick one comic. I was standing there for a while to read it. It was 'The Best of Archie Comics' printed in front.

I did not bother to take it down and sat on the couch but I was there standing. I was laughing as I read the content.

"Who the hell are you?" Suddenly, a baritone man's voice asked.

I startled; the comic dropped on the floor that almost made me fall from the ladder. Luckily, I got to hold unto the shelves.

"Careful!"
