CHAPTER 25: ZANE’S COMPANY

I have been working in Zane's company without any issues or trouble with my officemates. Nobody knew about my relationship with Zane as I reported on my first day few months ago. Sheila and I got the job. We are in the same department.

While Mildred is currently working at the same job and she got promoted. She is now the head of the branch. The previous head was transfer to the another newly open branch to the other side of the city.

We are on our way for lunch break, Zane passed by the elevator and glanced at me. I gave him a little smile without noticing other people. They bowed as he passes, I was with Sheila, we both looked at him. When the elevator closes, Sheila raised her brow then looked at me. We were the only one inside the elevator left.

"What?" I asked in a calm tone.

"Well, I have been wanting to ask you about this for so long. But I think now is the right time." She said, smirking.

"What is it?"

"We've been friends since you were new in the school and get along with each other together with Mildred." I nodded. "I kind of know you well. Are you and our boss a thing?" She asked.

I did not answer her because we reached already at the ground floor. We were planning to lunch out today for a change.

We reached out destination and ordered the foods. While waiting, Sheila faced me again with the answer she wants to hear.

"What?" I said, raising my brow.

"The answer I want to hear from you. Are you and boss kind of something? You know what I mean, Tay." Sheila asked again.

I took a deep inhale then exhale and looked at her. I gave her a small smile before answering.

"Well, he was my employer in the mansion I was working before as a housemaid. We have something deep relationship with each other. But we were not a thing before I worked for him in the mansion. Remember, the first time we were clubbing." I said and nodded. "I had a one-night stand." I saw Sheila covered her mouth in shock. She just realized it now that man I was with was him. "I found out when we met again in the mansion but he was not aware that I was that person. To make the story short, he discovered in some other ways and we kind of click from that on." I grinned and we stopped talking when our foods arrived.

"I do not want you to think that I got the job because of him." I said frankly. I looked at her in the eyes.

"I know that. I know you since we became friends." She smiled. "I know how you do in school. Of course, I will never think of that. I know how capable you are in everything you do. Your secrets are safe with me, my friend."

"Thank you!"

We continued eating and I ordered something for Zane. I know he will be very busy and forgot to eat. I am not afraid now that Sheila knew my secret.

I texted Hazel which is my new friend now. I did not even know that Sheila and Hazel were close too. They knew each other before we were here in the company. What a small world we have!

Hazel went to my floor and gave her the lunch for Zane. She knew about me thru Brix.

"Thank you for this Hazel." I said, blushing. It is my first time sending something during lunch for Zane thru Hazel. Sheila was just shaking her head.

"You are welcome to do it always. It is fine with me." She replies.

"Hey, let's have ladies' night one time for a change." Sheila suggested on us.

"Sure, why not. I love to spend time with you two sometimes." Hazel agreed.

I smiled and nodded for that bonding we were planning soon. I know Mildred will going to love the idea. She has been too busy with her works too. We still keep in touch from time to time in our group chat and Sheila was added to our group.

I was in the middle of my work when I received a message from Zane.

Z: Thank you for the food and I ate them all, beautifully.

I smiled as I started to reply. That was an hour ago when I gave it to Sheila.

T: You're welcome, handsomeness. I am glad you like it.

Z: Let's have dinner tonight. I am thinking going to some place you will love it. We never get the chance to be together. I mean, having Us time.

Well, it has been a while we never go out because of work. We were both busy and sometimes we were just spooning each other after dinner at night. Too exhausted and no time to waste when we were at the mansion.

T: Well, it is fine with me. I know we are too much occupied with our own works. I love to spend time with you too.

Z: Ok then, it will be until Sunday our Us time alone.

T: What? I thought it is just for dinner only. How come until Sunday? Are you planning of us to a weekend getaway?

He did not reply immediately by that I went back to my work. Maybe he is currently busy.

Z: Sorry it took me too long to reply. I was interrupted by a knock and some files Hazel brought in. Anyway, I just miss you and spend time alone. Yes, it is our weekend getaway.

Smiling like an idiot as I replied.

T: Sounds so good to me. Okay, handsomeness, let's go and have some fun together.

Great! I have getaway plans for the weekend. It is rare to have us together, I mean alone without anyone. I am looking forward for it tonight. I do not know where he will be going to bring me and he said we will talk about it once we are off from work.
