Chapter IIII

Cameron wore a white short sleeved shirt, with grey pants and buccaneers for footwear, in other words he wore school clothes. It wasn't the first time the school ordered the students to wear their formal school clothes, Because of that everybody already had their clothes ready for the next time.

The school would always demand their children to wear formal when it was outing time or when another school would visit. Surprisingly all the children would wear their formal uniform when ordered to.

Cameron at first believed he would not be able to accompany his class on this field trip, but after his mother gave him the assurance he needed when she found out it was compulsory his thought changed.

Cameron and his group of friends all entered the same bus, which was a bad thing for the people around them. They all moved to sit at the back so they could operate better.

The bus they were in was quiet, sure there was a little chitter-chatter, but it was quiet nonetheless, but the second the bus started moving Cameron chuckled coursing his friend besides him to chuckle, this made a domino affect where all his friends chuckled.

"Yo Cam." Trent nudged the dark skinned boy, "You think you can throw this paper at Mrs. Trout without getting caught?"

Cameron swiped the paper out of Trent's grasp, "You got me at throw Mrs Trout."

The watch holder waited for Mrs. Trout to turn her head and when she did, he chucked the paper at her and quickly turned to look at the window.

Mrs. Trout jumped up from her seat in anger coursing some of the students to peak up, she looked around angrily searching for the person that threw her. Cameron moved to the left a bit so Mrs. Trout wouldn't be able to see him laughing his butt off.

For the rest of the trip the group of friends started an entire noise train. Some children were irritated, but those who knew what they were talking about or could hear what they were talking about were amused.

➜Old Dale Camp

-[Camp of the winners]-

The bus stopped at their location, the old dale camp. The camp belonged to the first ever winners of the nerd Olympics, the place was small and rundown before it became a tourist attraction. The place now has fun fairs and rides.

"Alright, we're getting out starting from the front."

The students in the front started moving out fast, they were excited to be here. Finally it was the last row, the back row where Cameron and his friends were, it was their turn to get out, but they were all ordered to sit. Due to their bad behavior they had to stay in the bus for thirty minutes or until their tour guide arrives.

"Well that's a bum." Cameron slouched.

"True." Style nodded.

"Mr leader good boy is so lucky he didn't enter the same bus as us." Trent said.

Addie even though enjoying some of the jokes chose to stay quiet the entire trip, that meant he was staying back for nothing, but that didn't bother him.

He turned to the window staring at the students below him, they all seemed tired of waiting and some seemed like they wanted to go back in the bus. Addie looked straight ahead staring at the famous lake, a large lake that resembled a beach which was why it was so famous. He was about to move his eyes down to stare at the students again when he saw something by the lake. He squinched his eyes trying to get a better view, and saw nothing. Addie reverted his eyes to normal and when he did a small red speck dropped into the water making that entire area of the water glow red for a second before stopping and releasing a tremor.

"Guys did you see you that!"

"Well look who's finally talking." Cameron teased.

"Yeah. There was a monster out there, by the lake."

"D-"

"-You boys having fun in here?" Maddie entered with a sly grin, "Mam said ten minutes left and she mentioned that after the tour is over we get to do what we want, don't tell her I told you."

"Gotcha." Cameron appeared into view from behind the seat that was in front of him.

Maddie's sly grin turned into a smile, she nodded and walked off.

The tour started and their first destination was the camp gathering hall, the biggest structure in the entire camp. The students were all amazed and wondered.

Maddie took a step forward wanting to touch the desk, but her homeroom teacher caught her in the action.

"Mam, it told me to touch it."

"The desk can't talk Maddie."

"You're just saying that because the desk doesn't want to talk to you."

The students chuckled.

The tour continued on and the next stop was the cafeteria, it looked like your average cafeteria, but lesser tables and everything was made out of wood.

Cameron and a couple of other kids turned to the main counter and near it a family of rats were running off with cheese in their mouths.

"Whoa!" Maddie sounded. Everyone turned to her knowing she was about to comment. "Jacob. You never told us your family works here."

The students laughed including Jacob.

As the tour continued, so did Maddie's jokes sure some were plain, but they were always able to release a small bit of laughter.

= 6 Hours Left

A whole two hours was spent looking at some parts of the camp, there were still many more parts to be explored. But the students needed a brake, so for the time being the guide stopped and the students were allowed to enjoy themselves.

Maddie stopped midway in her conversation with her friends and watched as Cameron ran off. Not being the only person to watch, a man in the shadow resembling the same man with the staff also watched Cameron run off.

The dark skinned boy was running off to his friends since they were with another camp group when the entire camp started shaking, because of this he payed less attention to what was in front of him resulting in him bumping into a familiar face.

"S-" he paused and smiled, "Ruby!"

Ruby is a 13-year-old girl of average height with a unique, unconventional look. Her slightly dark complexion adds a fascinating complexity to her appearance (White race, lightly brown skin color or Mexican some would say) Her long, curly hair cascades down her back. Her dark pupils reflect a quiet determination and intelligence, visible within the delicate features of her face.

The two knew each other for about six years and even though when starting sixth grade they slowly grew apart, they still accepted and viewed one another as best friends.

Ruby's parents were very strict when it came to education that's why they weren't the biggest of fans of Cameron a boy who acts as if eduction is unimportant, but even though that was the case they still loved and viewed him as if he was their other child.

"Didn't think you'd be here." Cameron said trying to start conversation.

"You know I'm in the NeRd Olympics right?"

"I already know where this conversation is pushing to and yes I know I'm terrible at starting conversations."

"Thank you."

"So where is your group?"

"My friends? Well some of them are just out having fun, and one of them is with their boyfriend."

"I guess that friend is moving fast. Did you even get a boyfriend yet?"

"No, they take up way too much of a persons time. Abby is literally always coming late, but she does always manage to make it up to us, so."

"Late for what?"

"For our hangouts."

"I don't wanna know anymore."

"Let's start moving, I don't like standing in one spot when there's still so much to explore here."

Cameron and Ruby took a stop at the candy store and after a little argument between the two of who was going to pay, they got cotton candy.

An elderly couple asked the two if they could take a picture of them and Ruby volunteered since she didn't trust Cameron when it came to picture taking. After taking the picture the two ran over to the photo booth and got pictures of themselves together.

Their last stop was a clown show where anyone could participate, the two agreed in participating and entered the back where the volunteers enter.

"Abbie!" Ruby waved.

"Yo Ruby." Aiden waved.

Aiden is a strikingly tall 15-year-old boy with a somewhat slender build. His milky-pale skin is lightly toned, contrasting perfectly with his signature undercut hairstyle that features a trendy fringe. In addition to this, he has stunning, slate-grey eyes.

Abbie is Addie's sister, a 13-year-old girl. Her chestnut brown hair is styled in loose waves, framing her face with gentle curves. Her warm brown eyes twinkle.

"You must be Aiden." Cameron approached the dark haired boy.

"You're Cameron, Abbie has been telling me a lot about you and Ruby."

"We're best friends, of course we'd be in the same conversation."

"You know it dude."

The two shaked hands.

Abbie smiles at the sight of the two boys shaking hands, "Seems like you two became friends quicker than expected." She points out.

"Yeah." They answered in sync.

"I better keep my glasses on, because you might just steal my man right before my blind eyes."

Ruby giggled then turned back to Abby, "So you're doing this clown thing as well huh?"

"Yep. Every tourist here will be seeing us perform, we might earn some fame out of this."

"And don't forget the grand prize." Aiden interjected.

Cameron nodded, "That's literally why I'm here."

"True." Ruby added.

A group of women wearing clown costumes arrived and started dressing everyone. The participants had make-up and uniform style of choices to choose from, most of the participants chose unique make up styles, while the group of four students who decided on doing an act together, chose the basic clown attire, red and yellow, with the red nose and a wig.

After his make up artist finished and went over to Ruby, Cameron stared himself in the mirror and from his reflection he noticed the watches green color shine.

Cameron tapped the top of the watch trying to turn the shine off, but of course it failed to work. He tapped the two buttons on the side, but that failed. He long pressed the button on the right and when that failed he long pressed the one on the left and got the same result.

"You freaking thing, you can't be glowing in the middle of the show or people will be suspicious!"

Cameron looked around and quickly shook his wrist to no avail, this built up frustration that coursed him to repeatedly press the buttons on the side at the same time, one with his thumb and the other with his index finger. Now at the point of irritation he squeezed the two buttons attempting to break the watch.

In his attempt to break the watch an unfamiliar sound sounded, and the silhouette popped up placing Cameron in utter shock.
