Chapter 12: First day of job

Ali takes him to the cowshed.

"This is where you will live."

There are a few cows. A little further, there is haystack on a wooden platform.

"You will sleep on the platform."

Ali leaves the place. Seiko starts to look around him. He found nothing which would pique his interest.

A girl comes and starts to feed the cows. She notices Seiko.

"Umm… Hello, Who are you?"

"I'm Seiko, I will work here from tomorrow."

"Oh, you are the one, who dad hired?"

"Yes"

Seiko's stomach growls.

"Oh, are you hungry young lady?" said Seiko teasingly

"You are hungry." said the girl.

"Don't lie, I know you are hungry."

Seiko's stomach growls again.

"Let me give you some food."

She gives him some bread to eat.

Later at night. Ali goes near his dad's room.

"What is it, Ali? Do you want to say something?"

"You didn't tell me, you were hiring."

"I wasn't hiring."

"Then, Why did you hire him?"

"When he came I thought I would get a helping hand and I could do more stuff."

"But why him? Out of every person in the world, why him? Do you know what he has done?"

"Yes."

Angrily, he said, "Have you forgotten that you have a daughter? And you let him stay at home!! What if he does something?"

"Then, What were you doing as a brother? If you and me, both of us keep an eye on him, we can stop him, if he were up to something."

The last sentence really put him in thought. But he still wants to argue

"But-"

"What I have done is done. Go to sleep."

Angrily Ali says "I will sleep near sis from now on."

Ferhat Ahmed is the owner of the bakery. He lost his wife, while she was giving birth to his Children. She could have lived if she were to only give birth to one but she gave birth to twins, she couldn't bear it and passed away.

Seiko is seeing a dream, in the dream, His mother says "How could you sleep peacefully, when we are dead? You don't feel sad, do you?" His Teacher says "You could have saved me." His friends say "If you were fast you could have saved us." A little girl says "If you never came to my life I would have been alive." Another man says "If I didn't introduce my daughter, that wouldn't happen."

As they say, they push Seiko to the edge of a mountain. Seiko falls and because of sheer fear, he wakes up.

His breaths are heavy, he is in fear, and suddenly the seizures kick in. His breathing is stopped due to sudden seizures. He struggles to breathe, he punches his chest and he starts to breathe. But the seizures won't stop. He can't think of anything but the girl he talked to in the evening. He doesn't want to do it again. He went into the forest. To distract him, he starts to hurt himself. Out of pain, he screams.

He remembers its prayer time. He goes to prayer.

As the sunrises, his seizures stopped.

It is his habit to run and excise in the morning. So he starts to run and do some exercise.

After exercise, he comes back to the bakery. Farhat says "Oh, you are back? Where were you?"

"I was in the mosque, then I exercised."

"Good, You didn't introduce yourself."

"I'm Seiko Khan."

"That's a pretty unique name."

"Yes, it is."

"I'm Farhat Ahmed. Father of Ali and Afrin and the owner of this shop.

"I'm an orphan, I was a thief, but now I'm an employee of Farhat."

"Let me ask you the most important question. Can you make bread?"

Seiko blushes and says, "No."

Ali says "Why are you blushing!!?"

Farhat says, "Ali, don't interrupt." He also blushes and says "Then, what will you do?"

"What's WRONG WITH YOU GUYS?!" said Ali.

They were blushing because Seiko's mushroom of life is alive and strong.

Ali notices that. After seeing the healthy, strong, and massive mushroom of life. A bolt of thunder strikes him. 'Oh, Sh*t'. He is lost in thought.

Seiko says "You see, I know this city very well. So I'm thinking about a delivery system."

"What's that?"

"We will take orders from our customers, then I will deliver those, for the delivery we will charge money."

"Why will they ask for delivery?"

"They will. It takes time to make bread, right? They have to wait for bread. If we deliver they don't have to wait and they will get hot bread in no time, it will save their time too. I have also seen you have some regular customers who take milk. I will also deliver those to them. We will get the delivery money. That's not it, our sales will increase because, for delivery, they have to come here."

"I believe in you. Do whatever you want, I'm going to the field." And he leaves for the field.

Ali says to Seiko "So, How will people know about this?"

"Easy, we will put a banner here and I will run with the banner in the morning."

Seiko starts to run with the banner. For a few weeks, it didn't work. Then one of the regular customers, Babul said: "I heard you will deliver food with money is that true?"

Seiko enthusiastically says "Yes."

"How much will you charge?"

"1 bronze."

"1 bronze? That's cheap!"

"Our customers come first before anything."

"Do you know where my house is?"

"Yes. So, shall I come tomorrow morning?"

"Yes. Thank you, you saved my job."

"No need to thank, it is our job."

From that day, people started to order. Seiko became a busy man.

One day, Seiko went into the kitchen. Ali says "What are you doing here?"

"I have come here to make something, how do you light up the Furnace?"

"Sis, come here."

Afrin comes, and Ali tells him to light the Furnace. She can control the fire after all.

"Ohh. So, your power is fire."

Ali says "What will you do?"

"I need milk, eggs, and sugar."

They gave him what he wanted.

Seiko starts to cook something. After a few hours, he finished his cooking. He presents what he has cooked and says "Eat."

They ate, it was something that they never ate. It was so delicious.

"What is this?" They asked.

"Pudding. We will also sell it, from today."
