The Night Concludes

"Welcome Edward," The man seated on a chair fit for a king greeted him, he had a cat on his lap which he stroked gently.

"You tricked me!" Edward said and the man that had returned to his original self got to his feet, he was a lot taller than the person he transformed into, he had a neatly shaved beard with a teardrop tattoo right under his right eye.

He looked down at Edward, Edward was intimidated because this man could easily be an NBA player with such height.

Edward gulped but the aura surrounding this man wasn't malicious so Edward knew he meant him no harm but he was surprised that a shapeshifter existed in their ranks.

"Tricked you? Everything you have been told is the truth and because of you, your friends get to live," Razor Riddler said, his eyes looking lifeless and his face thin.

"Why am I here?" Edward fought through his fear to ask this question.

"You're rather the impatient one, aren't you? Don't you want to confirm the life of your friend?" Razor Riddler asked, he knew Edward would need a motivating factor to accomplish the task he was about to give him.

"You can stop the bullshit, you have already got me," Edward responded, but a clap followed this response and a projection appeared out of nowhere.

In that projection was footage of Michael.

Edward's jaw dropped as he walked towards the projection with tears welling up in his eyes.

He couldn't believe it, this couldn't be real but with so many powers in this world, there was a high possibility that this was fake.

He would only believe Michael was alive when he saw him with his own two eyes but he didn't mind keeping him entertained in the meantime. Edward was perfectly fine keeping up the theatrics.

Razor Riddler was satisfied with this reaction and gestured for his men to bring something into the room. A casket was dragged in and this startled Edward because he was expecting something a lot less frightening. What came to mind when one saw a coffin was death.

"Open it," Razor Riddler instructed Edward, a strange request but Edward had no problems complying. He walked towards the casket, putting his hand on it as he tried to push it open but it didn't budge.

Edward looked at the man before applying more force but it remained locked.

"There was a seal placed on that coffin, we aren't sure what is inside but whatever it is, it is enough to make everyone want my head," Razor Riddler said but Edward heard differently.

This man was the leader of a major drug ring that damaged the brains of his victims.

"You're dangerous, I know about the deadman drug. This is why you're wanted!" Edward fired back but the man was puzzled why Edward was so aggressive over a simple drug.

"Deadman? What is the difference between that and cocaine that circulates the world? Both do irreparable damage or should we include meth into the equation?" Razor Riddler said; he was right because there was no reason for such powerful people to come knocking on his door just because he was selling drugs. It seemed a bit of an overreaction.

"You're a smart boy. I know you can figure it out. The almighty Percepta after little ol' me just because I peddle drugs?" The more he spoke about it, the more sense it made.

Edward knew what this man needed him to do and that was to use his powers to somehow find a way to get this casket opened.

Edward got to work, not wanting to engage in pointless conversation with this man but Edward met a force that far superseded his, he was pushed back and fell to the ground.

His nose bleeding and eyes bloodshot, Edward began coughing but it was dry.

"It is as I feared, you aren't strong enough," The man said, if he knew this why did he allow Edward to try it in the first place, that was to confirm that his powers had the potential to open it and it did.

Edward looked to his right and left, his vision was blurry and he lost consciousness soon after.

"Get him ready, we will do this the other way," Razor Riddler said and the man that had assumed his identity looked rather worried.

"But that way will…" He said, pausing the moment he realized who he was talking to, a man that kept people in line with the mere mention of his name.

"Get it done," This was all he said in response to his underling fidgeting.

"Yes, sire,"

Michael was done talking with Tee, he had gotten some closure and was relieved that he wasn't the only twisted one here but he found himself wondering about the lady named Lola.

But it was late and he needed to sleep, Michael stumbled into Elizabeth's room.

They were a team so they shared the same room but Michael wasn't sure if she was comfortable enough to despite her earlier declaration.

He mistook this act for unconditional love, something he has never experienced before but slowly, Michael was gathering a following of villains to aid him in his cause.

He always had trouble sleeping, evident by his eyebags so he just sat at the edge of his bed.

"Michael…" A soft voice called out, it was Elizabeth.

"Hey Lizzy," Michael responded but this time, his words had no alternative meaning to them.

"You can't sleep?" Elizabeth asked, her back facing in the direction in which Michael sat.

"Yup…" Michael responded.

"You can come lay with me, maybe that will help," Elizabeth said, this was what her parents did when she was younger, although she did it for attention; it always put her to sleep.

She heard Michael's footsteps approaching her bed before entering it.

She gulped, this was her first time in bed with a person of the opposite gender but Michael didn't think much about this.

"Have you done the sex thing too?" Michael asked of the blue and Elizabeth nearly coughed out her lungs.

"YOU NEED TO LEAVE!" and for the first time, she heard Michael laugh, it was genuine and packed with kindness, and this brought a smile to her face.
