Fred Goes Berserk!

Fred was still under Thanatos' control and Damon made an inaccurate assumption thinking the worst was over.

He thought that Thanatos influence broke the moment he took Fred out of range but in reality, it simply weakened.

Razor Riddler demonstrated that he could use the powers of the people under his control as he pleased because Edward's power only nullified the seal on Thanatos and not his power.

This was terrible news and right now Fred had attacked his unsuspecting teammates.

Gurgling sounds were heard and Fred's dagger was stained in blood.

"Damn, I really hoped to cut off your head with that move…" Fred commented as the person revealed to be wounded was Samuel. He had a deep cut around his neck, there was no doubt that an artery was severed.

Samuel tried to stop the bleeding with his hand but there was no luck and the fact that he couldn't speak meant that blood was filling up his lungs.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" Alessia screamed at the top of her lungs, she had taken a couple of steps back but she had to pass Fred to get to the door.

There was something about Fred, they thought they had him back but this wasn't Fred.

The look in his eyes was that of a crazed man and Alessia knew that she couldn't talk to him.

"It isn't my fault Alessia… He tried to dodge it! If only he stayed still!" Fred exclaimed, he was more angry that Samuel tried to avoid rather than the fact that he tried to kill him.

Samuel dropped to his knees before hitting the ground face-first, he became motionless.

"Samuel! Hang in there!" Alessia screamed at the tops of her lungs.

"You're overreacting… I'm just killing you guys, it's not like I'm torturing you…" Fred scoffed the moment he said this.

He didn't see this as a big deal and that was partly because he didn't see either Samuel or Alessia as his teammate then and there.

There was also something that stood out and that was Thanatos had altered his memory to such a degree that his overall personality had changed.

Alessia held on that Samuel could be saved as she had secretly dialled Damon.

She prayed he would pick, she had no intention of talking to him but if he realized that something was going on he could easily teleport there in the blink of an eye.

"Are you trying to buy time for Damon?" Fred asked as he walked towards Samuel's fallen body.

Alessia quickly rushed in front of her fallen friend because she held onto the hope that he could be saved.

She picked up something on the table to defend herself with, it was a book that weighed quite a lot. She tried to use it to hit Fred and Fred couldn't dodge it.

The book hit him right on his face and Fred tumbled to the ground.

Alessia found an opening, if she could get out, she could call for help.

"I will be back, Samuel! I promise!" Alessia said and she dashed for the door, hopping over Fred's body.

She was through or so she thought, Fred grabbed her ankle, tripping her as she fell to the ground.

"You bitch! I always hated how fucking stupid you were!" Fred cussed as he gradually got to his feet, standing over her.

"Bye-bye!" Fred said with a menacing grin but he soon felt a shove at his back that sent him tumbling. It was Samuel but he was already unconscious.

Alessia wanted to communicate with him but she knew that this was the effect of his superpower. He had an indomitable will that could withstand any form of mental stress.

His body responded to his last wish and that was to protect Alessia.

She didn't need to be told twice as she ran out the door to seek help but this was all Samuel could do in his state.

He had already lost a lot of blood and could barely function as it was, this was his last stand and Fred knew that.

Fred dusted himself off the ground and casually walked towards Samuel who was frozen in place like an android waiting for its next set of commands.

"Fuck, man! I have forgotten how scary you can be…" Fred said; he thrust his hand to impale Samuel's heart but he stopped before it made contact with his skin.

"What?" Fred thought to himself, wondering why he was stopping. It was almost like deep down he knew that Samuel wasn't someone he could kill but unfortunately for Fred.

He didn't have the same power as Samuel and thus, this resistance was only temporary.

And with that being said, Fred plunged the knife into his partner's heart and this was the end of Samuel.

He kissed his teeth in irritation as Alessia had managed to escape and he knew if she called Damon, he could be here in the blink of an eye.

He needed to get away and he did just that but he was also aware that Alessia's power would prove troublesome, he had to get rid of her and fast.

Edward could track her easily, he could read the memories of objects and in doing so, he could track her.

This was why his ability was versatile and why Damon recruited him.

"Come out Alessia and I will spare Samuel!" Fred requested, he knew that she was hiding somewhere because the door hadn't been opened.

There was no way he would plan to kill them without closing off the exits, and now Alessia was trapped in the building with him.

In a dark room, Alessia held her breath as she tried her best to reach Damon but somehow, the fall earlier had caused her phone touchscreen to malfunction.

This made it hard for her to use her phone even though the phone occasionally responded to her touch hence giving her a glimmer of hope.

She tried and tried but she did something that would ultimately shape her fate.
