Butterflies?

Michael and Edward ran into each other on their way home, one had the best day of his life, and the other had a bad day. They could both smell it off each other, and Edward didn't want to ruin Michael's buzz and tried to divert into his house, but Michael grabbed him by the wrist.

"You look like crap, man! But I just had the best day of my life, and there's no way I'm not telling you! Michael said; he not only acknowledged that he knew Edward wasn't in his best state but that he wouldn't let him affect his mood.

"Shit? My mom told me I look quite dashing, on the other hand!" Edward gave a snappy retort, but Michael was fine with him keeping his secrets.

They all had secrets they couldn't tell anyone; it was a part of life.

No matter how much you trust someone, there are things you would keep away from them either to protect them or for more selfish reasons.

Michael understood this didn't mean Edward didn't trust him, but Edward wasn't ready to discuss it. If he was, nothing stopped him from telling Michael, as Michael had clarified earlier.

"I got in! I got in, Edward! I fucking got in! And I met the richest girl you will ever see! She has so much money that I ate a burger worth over $5,000! Holy fucking shit! Wait…" Michael said, pausing as he rummaged through his pocket to bring out the phone he was given to show Edward.

"She gave me this! I have no idea why but I think she is my way out of this place. Fuck! She is our way out of here!" Michael spoke, and Edward just smiled in satisfaction as he had never seen Michael this excited despite his ill intentions toward the girl.

He couldn't judge as it was no better than what he was doing, but Edward needed to get out of there, or his life might be in danger as he had gotten too deep into the business that Papa was running, but Michael was oblivious.

"Michael, you do know you went on a date with this girl, don't you?" Edward asked, and Michael raised his eyebrow in suspicion, cringing at the thought of it.

"A date? I do see myself having sex with her but not dating her…." Michael thought, recalling her physical attributes. She did have nice breasts, but Michael wasn't particularly interested in her as a person.

"That is vile, Michael. She must like you if she went this far for you." Edward said, but it felt like Michael wasn't listening as he was too busy with his new phone.

"Edward, you aren't in danger, are you?" Michael asked out of the blue, effectively changing the topic.

"Hahaha! I will be fine," Edward tried to brush it off, but Michael wasn't having any of that nonsense right now because he wanted to know he was safe.

"I didn't ask if you would be fine; I asked if you were in danger… If something happens to you, I will never forgive you for lying to me." Michael said bluntly, looking Edward right in the eyes.

"Relax, I just need you to trust me. I have it handled…." Edward said, breaking eye contact with Michael as he directed his line of sight to the ground.

"You know I will kill for you, Edward…" Michael muttered.

"Woah! Take it easy! We don't have to go that far!" Edward laughed it off, and even Michael was embarrassed by this declaration.

Elizabeth returned home to the most expensive mansion in the city; even among the high folks their house stood out.

The house had golden gates, and the pavement was composed of precious stones.

The house could easily be a stadium, it was that big, but Elizabeth was an only child with multiple maids and butlers at her call.

She could have anything she wanted in the world, but Elizabeth couldn't make any friends because she was socially awkward, and the ones that did accept to be her friends turned out to be a kiss ass. She could read cues and knew Michael was blunt with his response as he was easier to read than the people she had met over the years.

She was excited, recalling his face; he wasn't bad looking and had the potential to look like a stud if he took better care of himself.

It didn't help that he had a terrible fashion sense to boot, but Elizabeth wanted to fix him up.

She wanted to fix him; she saw him as a little project.

"Should I text him, or is it too soon? My birthday is in two days, so I should probably invite him to my birthday party. I didn't even ask if he had a girlfriend!?" Elizabeth flushed; Edward was right in deducing that she liked Michael as she was blushing just thinking about him.

But she didn't want to look desperate, so she wanted to take it slow as she lay in her room. Her parents were always so busy that she rarely saw them, and when she did, they showed her little to no affection as they left the emotional catering to their house helps.

"Vlad!" Elizabeth shouted, and a boy roughly her age ran into the room and bowed his head.

"Yes, Elizabeth," Vlad said; this wasn't the medieval age where honorifics would be used for everyone in the household. Vlad had red eyes with brunette wavy hair.

"I need boy advice!" Elizabeth muttered and Vlad cracked a sly smile.

"You're a maiden I read in those books that desperately want to fall in love…." Vlad said he was tired of this as he had seen this multiple times, and it always ended up the same.

Elizabeth loses interest and finds yet another boy to fawn over, but Vlad has no problems as it keeps her entertained, so he indulges her because it is his job.
