46 To Alter the Future…

Jason awoke the next morning to a blinding flash of light. Moving slowly to block it with his right hand, he blinked his eyes and scrunched his forehead in annoyance. The light persisted for several seconds, continuing to flicker, but soon vanished as quickly as it came.

With a loud groan, he painfully supported himself and got off the bed. The light seemed oddly familiar to the teenager, something he had seen many times before, but as his eyes caught sight of the engraved coral, he pushed the thought to the back of his mind. 

He quickly left his bedroom and warmed up his wrists, shoulders, and knees. Stretching his arms from side to side, the black-haired vampire performed a few air squats and jogged around the palace until he reached the living room. A golden ray reflected warmly against the central shell in the center, and Jason decided that it was time to do some research.
