37 The Idol

(1 out of 3 chapters this week)

Four black SUVs surrounded a bookstore where a famous book author was signing autographs. Men with black suits jumped out from the SUVs and dashed into the bookstore.

"H-Hey! That's my spot!"

"S-Stop pushing!"

"Hey!"

The men in black suits and glasses pushed through the line as they arrived in front of the table where a girl no older than 17 was signing her books.

She looked confused for a second as she saw over ten men with black suits and glasses looking at her.

"Utaha Kasumigaoka?" One of the agents asked with a sharp voice.

"...Yes?"

"Come with us."

Her eyebrow went up. What is going on? Are these some sort of federal agents? What could they possibly want with her?

"...and if I don't?"

"It's related to homeland security, I suggest you come with us."

Her eyes blinked a couple of times, now this was even more strange.

"...very well."

With a soft voice, she caved in and got up from her chair.

"H-Hey you can't just barge in! I have been waiting for this moment for weeks!" One of the fans of the girl exclaimed loudly.

One of the agents turned around and looked at him.

"If she doesn't come with us then you won't EVER have a chance to get that autograph."

"!!!"

Hearing how serious he was made the fans reel back. Utaha for a second frowned; she was confused as hell, but she moved even faster, quickly collecting her things.

"I am done, we can leave."

The agents nodded, as they quickly surrounded her, guarding her from all sides before leaving the bookstore.

~~~~~~Later~~~~~~
"...That's a lot to take in." The famous book author looked perplexed by what she had learned from the government official no less!
"Understandable, do take your time." The Secretary of Defence had an understanding look.
"However, at least I know why the weather forecast recently was showing fridge temperature instead of weather one," Utaha said with a sigh.
"Well… we don't have a say in this. Everything depends on His Majesty's whims." The Government official nervously explained to the girl.
She hummed for a bit. Before crossing her arms.
"So, my job is to be his writer?" Utaha proceeded to ask, while she was still processing the whole idea that this guy was a Godslayer, she needed to know the details.
"Correct, whatever he asks you will write for him. Don't worry about money, everything will be covered."
"I understand." She said with a sigh.
"Good. Here is the dossier, you will know everything you need to know. Who is who in his inner circle, people's names and their pictures."
She nodded, and with a simple flick the file opened and she was able to see his proper picture.
His authorities and powers were all listed, seeing them written down in such a professional manner with many dangerous tags makes it more believable.
"..."
"..."
"..."
"It's written here that he has…a harem?" She asked with a strange tone. Her instincts are telling her that something fishy is going on here.
She is around his age, and on top of that, the girl is confident in her looks.
"Yes. His authority allows him to give them powers." He showed some pictures of girls flying, and using elements in the training room specifically prepared for them.
"...I see…"
A shiver passed through her back.
"...What about my parents? It's against the law to have me here alone without adult supervision."
"That's up to you. If you want you can call them. Regardless, Raynor Valeron will start looking for you in—" The Secretary looked at the clock on the wall.
"In two to three hours."
This made her gulp nervously as she was wondering what kind of meeting this was going to be. But that moment one of the agents rushed into their meeting room.
"We have a problem!" The agent exclaimed with a worried look as there was some sweat rolling down his forehead.
"What is it?"
"I-Its his Majesty! He just crashed a concert!"
"!!!"
"!?"
The Secretary paled for a second while the Utaha looked confused about what this guy was talking about.
"He crashed Ai Hoshino's concert and kidnapped her."
"T-The what!?"
Uraha's eyes bulged out, did the Godslayer just crash a concert!?
The Secretary swiftly dashed out of the meeting room and went to see what was going on, The author decided to follow, she was curious, this does concern her as well.
As they went to the control room where a bunch of monitor screens were placed, everyone saw a cut-off live stream, some news already reporting a freak storm, some sort of storm slammed into the concert hall.
"Quicky! Intercept the news and whatever is going on! Make sure everyone thinks it's a freak storm and nothing more! I want hypnosis on a large scale! Now!"
"Understood!"
The mages on standby rushed out.
Utaha was shocked to see this! This was like the plot of some sort of light novel or an anime!
"As you can see this is what we have to deal with."
She stiffly nodded before looking at the Monitor screen.
"... Isn't there a way to deal with such a man?" The girl suggested as she saw the chaos he had caused.
"And let ourselves be at the mercy of crazy mad Heretic Gods?"
"...fair point." Utaha nodded with twitching lips. No, she still remembers that freak scorching afternoon, it was unbearable, She prefers random weather the Godslayer is subjecting their country.
~~~~~~Few Minutes Ago, on the Other Side of Tokyo~~~~~~

Raynor was floating in the air, high above an open concert hall. His eyes were glowing sky blue as he was using magic to look at what was happening in the concert hall.

He was curious about this Ai Hoshino. Over TV she looked interesting, but now that he was seeing her in person his Olympus Authority was sending warning bells, she was fake…

She was worse than Haruno. This made him curious. What is her real personality?

So he decided to find out. Rain clouds started to gather as he called forth the rain!

Seconds later it started to drizzle, and a few seconds later it turned into full-out rain, and winds started to pick up.

Sure enough, the concert got paused as people started to look for a place to hide.

This was it, Raynor had his chance to 'yoink' the purple-haired Idol.

With a burst of supernatural speed, he appeared in front of her.

"Eh?"

Without even realising what was going on, the idol was picked up in a princess carry and then they flew away!

Mission success!

~~~
A girlish scream followed as Raynor took her to the sky.
"Let me goooo!!!"
He stopped flying up and looked at her.
"Are you sure? That's a long way down." He motioned down with his eyes.
Her gaze swiftly looked down, seeing the whole of Tokyo from high up there made her hug him like her life depended on it.
"...on second thought, I am fine here!"
"Glad to hear."
As he said that he proceeded to fly to get some privacy.
As Raynor was flying, there was silence for a few minutes before she very curiously looked at him.
"...Umm…so…why did you kidnap me like that?" She asked with a curious voice.
"I found your fake persona curious so I decided to figure out the real face of the famous idol." The Storm King explained to her with an extremely casual tone.
"...I have no idea what you are saying."
"...and that's a lie, my sweet idol." He said with a grin.
"No, it's not."
"...How cute, your ears are turning red, at least you consciously know you are lying." He teased her as he noticed her ears turning dark pink.
"..."
For a while, it was quiet as the idol was thinking what the hell is going on and where is he taking her!? And how on earth can he fly!?
He can do all that yet he cares about her lying!?
Eventually, she decided to play along, he looked far too dangerous… to lie to.
"...fine, I was lying, but I don't think you will care about some simple idols. You look like someone from some fantasy novel."
She said that with a plain voice, there was no more idol disposition radiating from her. The purple-haired girl has turned off her fakeness.
"Oh? We met a few moments ago and you are already making choices for me? Such a naughty girl." Once again he teased her with an amused tone.
"Eh? N-No? I mean…you are someone with supernatural powers…and…I am just a girl who got lucky enough to be an idol!" She explained herself with honesty, which made him look at her more closely.
He is observing her real self.
"Regardless, I am the one who decides with whom I am supposed to interact." As Raynor said his part, he noticed a rocky beach in the distance, he started to descend there.
The Storm King is certain they are quite south on Japan's main island. It will take a while for anyone to find them here.
As he was descending at a rapid speed, Ai held him even tighter, she was close to screaming again, It felt like they were freefalling!
A few short seconds later Godslayer landed at the beach and let the idol stand on her own feet.
The girl collapsed on her knees and proceeded to worship the ground.
Raynor rolled his eyes when he saw that. Well, at least she is eye-pleasing to look at.
"Where are we!?" After a while, she asked him.
"South of Tokyo, at least several hundred miles."
Her eyes bulged out when she heard that.
"...O-Okay… what now?" The idol asked with a nervous tone. The purple-haired girl realised that they were far from everyone and that she was with a dangerous guy who wields supernatural powers.
"We talk. I borrowed you from the concert for this reason." He casually explained to her as he went over and sat down on a boulder.
"...Are you serious?" She questioned him, this was absurd!
"Very."
His answer was instantaneous, it was so fast that she even flinched.
"...Fine…geez…you are one annoying guy!"
"I am curious, satisfy my curiosity and I will let you go."
Ai frowned when she heard that, and her eyes scanned the surroundings. Something was happening, she could see rain clouds but they were surrounding where they were at this moment.
"...Okay, but you will tell me what you are as well. That should be fair, yes?"
"...Oh? Miss Idol is curious?" He asked with a teasing smile.
"That much should be given, since you can fly and control weather."
She pointed at the rain in the distance.
"Hmm, so you noticed the wall I have created. Quite an observant one. Fair enough." He leisurely agreed to her suggestion.
"I don't know about the observant part but the rain is quite visible."
She pointed at the ocean.
"..."
"..."
For a while no one spoke, even if the girl agreed, she wouldn't just start talking about her private life just like that.
So, an icebreaker is needed.
"...Alright, why don't you start."
*Sigh*
"My acting and lying are related to how I grew up, I was raised in an orphanage."
"Hmm? That's unexpected."
"Yes, I guess it is. Anyway! I never understood what is…love. Affection? All that kind of stuff…"
For a second he looked at her…he looked at her some more…
While it was somewhat embarrassing for her to just start talking about such a thing so—randomly, what was weird was how he was looking at her.
"WELL!? I explained it!"
"...let me sum it up… you need a loving boyfriend."
"..."
"..."
"...Do I understand it right? Since you never had loving parents you need some sort of source of heat, like a flower which needs to be heated up."
"...Umm…I guess?"
When he put it like that… it made sense… but it's just weird when someone explained it in such simple words!
He sighed and jumped off the boulder before walking over to her.
She looked at him for a bit more, What is he going to do now?
