29 Mother Earth Goddess Athena

As the dark purple and black glow settled down Raynor saw how Athena looked. He was simply amazed at how beautiful a literal Goddess looked. 

Her proportions were simply perfect, the luscious silver hair adorned with a purple olive branch coronet showing that she was a Queen-like existence.

The Goddess was dressed in the traditional Greek toga. However, that mad-like look she had on her face was the only thing he didn't like about the Goddess Athena.

"Fufufu, for allowing me to reach full power I shall entertain you with a battle to the death." She said that while having a borderline crazed look, it appears she was drunk on power.

One would be like this after regaining her missing power after an extremely long time.

"Good to hear… let's fight," Raynor said with a grin of his own.

That moment Athena summoned her black bow and prepared to shoot an arrow but then her eyes widened as she saw Raynor was already in front of her and a massive amount of thunder was crackling around him.

'This Authority…' 

The Goddess was about to recall where she sensed this authority before but at that moment her eyes bulged out as she felt the God slayer's lips on hers!

At that moment her authorities went out of control!!!

'YOU!!! KILLED HIM!!! THIS WAS A TRAP!!!'

The Goddess tried to get away from him as soon as she could as it was simply suicidal for her to fight HIS Authority!

However, the Goddess was in a bad place as Raynor's left hand already was around her waist pulling her in. This is where she started to panic but it was pointless as his blue energy started to invade and consume her purple and black energy, it was Authority overwrite!

It was like water flooding dried up river banks, the Goddess was simply powerless as his authority simply overtook all of hers!

Just a few short struggles later Raynor released Athena who backpedalled, eventually collapsing on the ground in a very un-lady-like fashion.

She was breathing heavily and there was a small blush on her cheeks.

"Y-You…You….tricked me… You have that idiot's Authority… I can't believe I fell for this…" She said with slightly narrowed eyes as her body turned into blue particles and eventually fused with Raynor's body.

The conquest was complete…

The court has expanded once more. One could say that the true power of his King's Authority has finally revealed itself. 

The most archaic and basic principles of a King's power in ancient times are simple… Kill the men and take the women. This is no different… For him to get the Greek Goddesses is absurdly easy. Just like how he did with Athena he simply needed to kiss her and overwrite her power with his and that is it.

However, he is not Zeus, he might have his Authority but it's much weaker than the God King's. At this moment he has only minor perks of Athena's powers.

He has an affinity with Snakes and owls, He can see at nighttime and cause early dusk, and some minor augmentation to his mind and knowledge processing.

However, he can sacrifice these minor perks for one of the arrays of Athena's major Authorities, once he uses her Authority it will be sealed for a day.

"Ray!!!" First, one to arrive at his side was Erica who lunged into his arms.

"What was that!? You beat her with a kiss! This is simply absurd!!!" The blonde gushed with excitement. Who else can brag that one made a Goddess cease to exist with a simple kiss?

"My King's authority made the fight obsolete, Zues power simply made any of her powers useless." 

Erica and later on the rest of the girls nodded at him. So it was nothing to worry about, besides they could feel some sort of changes already happening to them!

It's like…it was 'clear' to them. Like they were smarter?

"...So…what happened to the Goddess?" Yukino asked curiously. Did he truly kill her with a kiss? That's just scary…

"She is fine, she didn't die, Athena will reform in a few days as a subordinate Goddess under me." 

Erica and Liliana's eyes widened from sheer shock hearing that! Is this even possible? They never heard of a Godslayer who has Goddesses as subordinates! There are no such recordings!

At that moment they thought that his first kill was a God King so his foundation was quite different from the rest authority-wise.

It is strange, that the girl decided to record Raynor's achievements just to make sure they get everything of interest!

"I see… So what kind of authority did you get from this… kiss?" Yukino asked him, almost sounding jealous. Honestly, there will be a Goddess among them. How hard will it be to get his attention in the future? From what she saw, the Silver-haired Goddess was simply gorgeous!

"All of the one's Metis and Athena had, however, they come with small uses, once per day I can use any of her major powers for the price of the smaller ones."

"Metis? Oh, I see… So she was a Queen who was demoted to Athena's position. So you have a major power of cunning and wisdom? These should be greater than Athena's original ones…" Erica hummed to herself thinking about this.

"Hmm, something like that… It's Athena, Medusa, and Metis they all are jumbled into one. It appears this Heretic God was around for quite a while." 

Raynor realised that the longer these gods have descended around the more they build up around themselves with myths or whatever and get more Authority this way.

"Yes, well…we are done here, what next?" 

As the blonde asked, she was curious about what they were going to do next.

For a moment he thought about this. Should they get back to Japan? Or?

He then recalled something amusing, he has some powers over animals!

It's time to check out how good he is with snakes!

"Heh, I have an idea!"

'Please let's go home! Please let's go home! Please let's go home! Please let's go home!' Yukino internally pleaded that they should just go home, she needs to catch up with the classes she has missed. As someone who sees it as a responsibility that needs to be achieved at the highest level, she can't just ignore her studies that easily. Sure Raynor may have started to warp her worldview but it's not that easy to forget.

"What is it?" Erica asked curiously.

"Let's go to India. Hmm, but first let's check out the Australian Northern coastline." Raynor said with a thoughtful voice as he stroked his chin thinking about his next destination.

The black-haired girl's eyes widened! India!? What the hell there!?

"Why India though?" Erica asked curiously, Yukino nodded at her, she wanted to find that out as well!

"King Cobras, that's why! I have Medusa's powers over snakes! Do you realise how cool it is to have King Cobra as a pet? Such a majestic and venomous snake!" Raynor almost gushed just imagining having that thing!

The four girls just deadpanned at him, for a moment Yukino wondered why she didn't have any sort of sense of danger toward snakes. Is it related to the fact that she has a small power over snakes as well?

This is just curious and somewhat disturbing. 

"...What about a simple house cat?" Yukino chipped in from the side, the girl sighed while saying that.

For a second the Storm King had a thoughtful look.

"They do have Bengal Tigers around there. Not as big as Siberian ones but still majestic. You are on to something Yukino! I can always trust you to have great ideas!" 

The girl grimaced and facepalmed. What is he talking about!? 

Most of her ideas are always ignored! Since they are the most mundane and reasonable.

"Hmm, I think tigers are cuter, what do you think, Lili?" Erica asked her fellow knight. 

"I suppose? Felines have that certain attraction?" The silver head said after thinking for a bit.

"What do you think, Ena?" Raynor asked his Hime-Miko.

"... I don't mind snakes or tigers, they all are incredible animals." The girl didn't have a real opinion on that.

"I suppose we can hop at the closest tiger reserve, but for now let's check out the Northern Coastline where Saltwater crocks are." 

"Crocks?"

"Crocodiles Yukino! They are reptiles! I want to see if Medusa's Authority works on them." He said with an obvious tone. Almost like it's the most common thing to do.

"...Can't you just… Do that in the Zoo? Tokyo has quite a nice one." The girl asked the obvious question.

"Sweetheart we are in the middle of Australia, why would I want to go to Japan and then to India? It was a waste of time. We can check the crocks and then take a plane to India and then back to Japan. You're supposed to be my manager." He said that with an eye roll.

This made the other girls almost smirk at Yukino's attempt to reign him in by making his return to Japan…

"Fine… I am slightly curious about this as well." 

She quickly caved in. By now she is finding it a waste of breath to try to convince him otherwise. But this is not a complete defeat on her side. No, she just needs to think of other ways to change his mind.

She already has a hint so now she only needs to test to see what works and what doesn't.

Half a day later the group was back on the road. This time they were moving northwards.

Raynor used this chance to discuss the authorities he had acquired from adding Athena to the court. Especially such a unique version of her.

First, he started with Metis. The supposed mother of Athena. In myths, she is described as the Goddess of intellect and cunning. However what he got from it is Darkness, death, and control over the night.

"Hmm… I suppose because she is one with that many aspects of herself, Athena controls Owls which is a night creature, as a Goddess who started as Mother Goddess of Earth one develops Authority over Snakes. It makes almost all of them some sort of power of snakes. Snake is most of the time used as a symbol of the cycle."

Raynor had a realistic look as he remembered the Ouroboros! The snake eating its tail…

"...So because of such symbolism, I can kill a person once per day with a mere touch?"

Erica shrugged her shoulders at him.

"You can smite a person kilometres away without even touching him. I don't see your point."

"Fair enough."

Now that she has pointed out this, it does make it sound dull…touching to kill is lame compared with his smiting. 

"Next is Medusa's authorities, from what I can tell it's snakes and once per day, I can turn a person into a stone. I think this one is quite useful since that person doesn't truly die but more is sealed away. Good for capturing."

Erica and the other girls nodded and noted that down, they were trying to get the full picture of this King's Authority.

"The last one is Athena's Authority. This one is not even a choice. Control over owls and once per day I can ask something and I will get an answer." 

All four of them got confused. What does this even mean!?

"I can access what is called Memories of the Void." 

All three girls who know what this means look at him with slight disbelief.

"This is a great boon! Especially when you are fighting an unknown Heretic God! It's an incredibly priceless authority!" Liliana exclaimed with a giddy look.

"Indeed. Not only those mysteries of magic!" Erica added.

"And techniques," Ena added from her side as she was gently touching the legendary sword.

"...None of you considered using such power to answer some of the greatest questions in human society?" Yukino asked with a disappointed sigh. These girls are far…too easily going with no sense of responsibility for the bigger picture!

"That's why we have you around," Erica said with a bright smile. This made the Ice Queen's eyebrows twitch.

Only Raynor was thinking in a completely different direction…
