Chapter thirteen

Scarlet hair looked at me as if I had grown an extra head and emo with brown hair gave me an uncertain look.

"Alright"

Came the unexpected reply of psycho Bob cut. The other two turned to her in surprise. With one brow raised, she asked

"What? She's not gonna say anything unless she has our names. Besides, there's no reason not to tell her, right?"

Her two friends looked to each other for confirmation, and when it seemed like they reached a conclusion both nodded their heads in agreement.

"Great! Guess I'll go first then."

Joining me on the grass, psycho bitch sat down with her legs crossed. With an unusually enthusiastic voice, she introduced herself

"Hi there, my name's Yuserine. I'm Japanese but was born and raised here. I thoroughly enjoy tormenting others and making them fear me."

Huh...so she's a psychopath and a bully too?

We're gonna get along great.

Looking over to the other quiet girls who had yet to sit, I waited for one of them to introduce themselves next.

"Okay, let me just sit down first."

The scarlet witch sat down next to the crazy bitch...guess I can't call her that anymore, huh? Okay, she sat down next to Yuserine and the other girl followed her lead. We were now sitting in a four-person circle with our legs crossed like some witch cult ceremony.

"Hey, my name's Ericarson, unusual name I know but I'm Greek and I love fashion. I live for it."

I gave her a smile as my greeting then turned to look at the last one.

Despite her appearance, she looked shy and a bit uncertain. Only after a little encouragement from Ericarson; by jabbing her elbow into her side that is, she finally opened her mouth to introduce herself last.

"U-Uhm, my name's Somila. I'm Indian and prefer sweet things over spicy...I guess?"

Are you sure bout that? You seem quite unsure of yourself there.

"Okay psycho girl."

Funny that's what I thought about you

"What's your name?"

Sighing out loud I scratched the back of my head, though hesitant I answered her question anyway.

"Clover and I'm not a psycho"

Glaring at Yuserine she lifted her hands up in surrender.

"Alright, alright. Yeesh"

"Now tell us what your deal is. Why'd you destroy the Chem lab and hold me hostage? Why'd you break open someone's locker and what the hell were you doing in the boy's locker room?!"

Slamming both palms on her knees, she leaned forward waiting for me to answer her. I looked at Ericarson then moved my eyes to the emo-looking chick then back to her.

"Fine"

Heaving a heavy sigh I began to tell the tale of my tragic backstory. But of course, they didn't have any interest in my origin story so I was stopped before I could go any further.

"I was born in a small town where I had no friends at all,"

"Gee I wonder why?"

Yuserine sarcastically commented, elbow perched on her knee and head in hand, rolling her eyes.

"My parents decided to move and I didn't take too kindly to the idea. So I held a mini protest but to no avail. So then we-"

"Yeah, okay that's interesting, and all but that's not what I was asking."

"Hush Erica, I wanna know where this is going."

Erica, I guess we're calling her that now, looked at Yuserine as if she were a weird alien hybrid.

"I just wanna know what happened with those incidences. That's all I wanna know!"

Seemingly frustrated by Yuserine and me, she rubbed her temples in distress simultaneously shaking her head.

"Okay, okay. I'll tell you what really happened."

"Thank you!"

Clearing up my throat my face morphed from its neutral look to a more serious one. You know that look in movies where there's a sudden shadow cast over a small portion of a villain's face?

Yeah, that kinda look.

"It was a dark and stormy night in Gotham."

"No, it was in the afternoon during classes."

"I was looking down on the innocent bystanders from up above a building. Foot stepping on a gargoyle, the cold air blowing through my hair-"

"You were in the Chem lab in the middle of destroying things."

Erica said with a blank look. I gave her a look that said " stop interrupting me" But all she did was roll her eyes at me.

"Can you just tell us what really happened and stop trying to distract us from the real story?"

"Erica, are you some hater? She's telling a very interesting story right now. You wanted a story, didn't you? Well, now you got one."

Erica looked at Yuserine like she was nothing more than an idiot.

"You realize we're trying to find out what really happened when she basically attacked us, right?"

She commented with a brow raised.

"Hey, attack is such a strong word."

I tried to defend myself. I was not gonna sit still and watch while I was being accused of doing such a crime.

One I would never commit by the way!

"But that's what you did!"

Erica accused.

"No, I didn't!"

"Yeah, you did!"

"Alright, you two enough!"

Somila's loud voice was a surprise to both Erica and me. But as soon as we looked over at her she flinched back in fright.

"She's right though. You two should stop fighting, and you,"

Pointing at me with a look that would put a villain's glare to shame, I gulped in nervousness at the scary-looking Japanese girl.

"Tell us what really happened with every incident. And don't even try to distract us with another false story."

"But me moving here wasn't a false story though?"

"Don't even think about it buddy. Tell us the truth. Now!"

Caving into Yuserine's look of death I came clean.

From the beginning of each accident to the end, I told it all. And the more I explained the situations I caused the more I felt embarrassed and wanted nothing more than to crawl in a hole somewhere.

And never come out for the rest of my living, waking moments.

The further I went with my stories, the crazier I actually sounded...no crazy isn't the word. It's more like the more I seemed like an idiot. Yeah, that's a more accurate way to put it. The entire time I was telling them what really happened, I could not look anywhere other than the ground.

Taking the chance to look up from my lap to the girls sitting before me, the state of their faces told me just how dumb I sounded right there and then.

Ericarson looked like she had indigestion. She had a hand over her mouth and her golden completion looked somewhat green. Somila's face looked like all the blood had been drained from it. She looked horrified as if she had seen a ghost. Yuserine on the other hand looked like she was about to burst into complete laughter. She seemed to be struggling to hold it in too as she held a hand over her mouth and tears already formed at the corners of her eyes.

"So that's what happened."

As soon as I finish completing the story silence was all that surrounded us. It was only after what felt like a lifetime that the sudden burst of laughter coming from a once struggling Yuserine was heard. Not being able to contain herself she fell on her side, laughing and crying at the same time. She held her sides tightly presumably in an attempt to ease the pain searing through her abdomen.

Erica once again had her head in her hand, rubbing away the headache forming. Somila seemed lost in her thoughts as she sat idly by, not blinking at all, and...wait was she breathing?

"I-I think I broke Somila"

Stifling her laughter, Yuserine looked over to the shy emo girl.

"She's fine, she's just...wooh, she's just shocked."

Slowly nodding my head I hummed in thought.

"So, you're telling me all those things that took place is just an occurrence of nothing but misfortune and unfortunate events that coincidentally happened just when we were around?"

"That's precisely it, yes"

Loudly sighing out in frustration, Erica took her hand away from her face. She looked at me as she clasped her hands in a prayerful gesture and released a loud groan. In a calm yet strangely frightening voice, she looked at me with tight lips.

"You're supernaturally unfit for human society. Girl, you need prayer."

Once more laughter filled the air. This one seemed harsher than the last.

"Oh my gosh! Your parents named you Clover, but you have a serious streak of bad luck following you like crazy...how awesome is that?!"

Hysterically laughing and no longer functioning as a proper human being, she rolled around the field like a child who heard the funniest thing in the world.

"I'm aware my name is ironic but-"

"It's extremely ironic!"

Somila finally spoke up coming out of her hypnotic reverie.

"But! I try to make the most of the good."

"Wow, that's so encouraging."

Your sarcasm is highly noted, Erica.

"Hey!"

The painful slaps on the back Yuserine gave me were definitely top-gear horrible.

What does this girl eat!?

"Why do you,-"

Pausing to take a breather and attempt to dwindle her horse-like laughing, Yuserine slapped her chest to help increase the oxygen intake.

Why do people even do that? Like does constantly hitting your chest actually help increase your intake of oxygen, or are you just doing it cause that's what you were taught?

"Why don't you become our friend?"

Wait, was she seriously asking me to become friends with them...for real?

Why?

Voicing out my thoughts I asked her the question.

"It's pretty boring at this school, especially if you've been here since freshmen. Having fresh meat that's also very entertaining is something highly and greatly necessary."

Wow, so you want me as a source of your comedic relief? I feel so important right now. I think I've found my meaning in life, being the butt of the joke. Yeah, I could find meaning in this.

"Wow. What a wonderful reason as the grounds for a friendship to be built on."

I sarcastically retorted

"Oh come on!"

Wrapping an arm around my neck and practically suffocating me with her side boob, she tried to convince me to become friends with them

"You clearly don't have any friends"

"And you do?"

I asked as I struggled to release myself from her grasp.

"Yes, however, you could become more entertaining for me to have around."

"Truly convincing aren't ya?"

Using her other hand she held me by the chin, squishing my cheeks together with the tight grasp she had on them.

"Let me put it this way. Become our friend and I won't tell the principal that it was you who trashed the Chem lab,"

I gasped at her words,

"That it was you who broke Adam's locker and ran,"

Double gasp

"And that you were also in the boys' locker room "

Triple gasp with eyes wide like saucers.

"Okay, okay, you win! I'll befriend you guys."

"Good!"

She said with a chirpy tone and smiling at her accomplishment.

I rubbed away the pain in my cheeks and jaw, glaring daggers and swords at the insane girl that will now be called "friend''.

"Great then. Erica, you cool with that right?"

Erica looked at Yuserine with a blank stare, looked at me then back at her. Rolling her eyes and admitting defeat she shrugged her shoulders in answer.

"I'll take that as a yes! How bout you Somila?"

The shy emo girl looked down at the ground in thought, picked her head up and looked deep into my eyes. I felt a little creeped out about that but didn't know if it was a test or nah.

So I didn't know if I should look away from her or keep staring back until I could see her soul. But I chose to keep staring until I could somehow break the secret of mind control. Seemingly satisfied with my actions she finally looked away back to Yuserine.

"She seems weird and odd, but it could be cool having a fourth member in our group."

Wait, they're friends?

"Alright, then that is that."

Grabbing me by the shoulders, Yuserine held me tight to her side and said in an announcement

"Welcome to our group our new member."

"Not like I had a choice in the matter"

"Hush child, let us help you relieve you of your loneliness."

Offended by her words I scoffed and rolled my eyes at the audacity of this chick.

"Excuse me? I am not lonely!"

Emphasis on not!

"Yeah yeah"

Getting up and taking me with her in the process, she waved away my words. The others soon followed us as we made our way back inside the school.

Guess I'm stuck with these three now.

How great!
