2 Into The Dungeon

It took Yukio around an hour or so before he managed to get to the place he was right now, and that place was a massive damn city. Before he was even allowed in, this guard got him to pay a fee for an identification here. It cost 1,000. More specifically, 1,000 Valis.

Once he came to the city, he now fully understood just why it was that he found the name so damn familiar. The city here, Orario, was the city that the anime Danmachi was set in. That one anime with the dungeon and all that crap, along with deities and their Familia or whatever.

While he was definitely not that knowledgeable about this world, he knew a few things about this place. Just the most basic things at least. Anyway, the fact that the guard asked for Valis as payment for an identity, solidified that he truly was in the Danmachi world.

Along with the fact that there was this damn massive freaking tower in the center city! Would be pretty hard to miss it. Speaking Valis, the currency he had in his status screen allowed him to pay it. Being capable of being converted into the necessary currency.

It seemed that a single currency point on his interface was equivalent to a single Valis here. In other words, he had 29,000 Valis left to his name. It was a strange system, he literally searched up the currency of this world on his status screen and it allowed him to convert the currency points to Valis.

He wasn't complaining.

Anyway, he was now making his way towards the guild to sign himself up as an adventurer, the reason being that it would be beneficial. He knew that they refused entry to those that aren't registered as adventurers, so that was something he needed to do.

After all, the second objective of the quest he was given was to go to the dungeon. Along with getting to level ten, he wasn't exactly sure how hard that was going to be. Anyway, he now arrived in front of the building as a number of other people were hanging around outside. Though, a large number of people inside.

Yukio had also put his hood up over his head, and that was for two reasons. He didn't want people seeing his face since that itself could bring problems, and also that the sun was horrid right now. He also still had the mask on over his face as he continued calmly walking into the building, one hand in his pocket as he walked in.

He did notice as he walked that a lot of damn people were giving him looks, mainly curious ones due to his form of attire. The way he dressed was abnormal for them, mainly due to the fact that this world was kind of medieval, and his clothes came from modern times.

That was another reason he had his hood up, it helped him block out some of the people looking at him. By doing so, he felt more comfortable. He may not show it due to his Gamer's Mind kicking in, but the stared really started to annoy him. Don't they know it's rude to stare?

"Welcome to the Guild! My name is Misha Flott, how may I assist you today?" The voice of a cheerful girl sounded as Yukio walked to the front desk. The girl in front of him looked a few years older than he was, though she was pretty short to him. She had pink hair along with matching eyes.

"Greetings, I'd like to register myself as an adventurer." Yukio responded calmly as he crossed his arms over his chest. The girl nodded her head after hearing this, though she was a bit distracted by his mysterious appearance and clothing. She could see the coloration of his eyes underneath the hood, and they were an interesting sight. Definitely more abnormal compared to a number of others.

"Please just fill out this form." Misha voiced as Yukio nodded. When he looked down at the paper presented to him, he just started filling it out. It asked for basic information such as his name, age, and such. It didn't take him long at all to fill out everything that was required.

"Uh, sir...?" Misha tilted her head in confusion as she read over the info. "You didn't write anything for the Familia you're from..."

"I'm not a part of one."

"B-But, it's too dangerous to go into the dungeon without being a part of one! Let alone without having a Falna!"

Yukio just shrugged as he really didn't want to join any Familia or have a Falna placed onto him, he felt it completely unnecessary. He was literally The Gamer, and unless he was mistaken. The Gamer was far more powerful compared to a Falna.

Also, he really didn't want to associate himself with any of the gods here in this world. That would bring more trouble than needed. Though, people end up catching wind of him at some point, including the gods and goddesses... whatevs, he'd rather not join any organization.

Attaining a Falna would mean he would have to align himself with one of the gods or goddesses, and that was something he didn't want to do. Even if a Falna helped him get stronger alongside his Gamer abilities, the annoyances that may come along with it may not be worth the trouble.

"It's unnecessary, I shall be back later." Yukio answered simply as he turned and began walking calmly out of the guild. Misha could only gape as he walked away, she was unable to form any words as the male walked. How could the guy expect to survive without a Falna?

[]———————————————————[]

It didn't take him long to get to the Tower of Babel, and there were a crap ton of other adventurers that were hanging around. He ignored them though as he had continued his way into the building, quickly beginning his descent down towards the dungeon.

He noticed how a ton of adventurers were just hanging around on the stairs, and be noticed how most appeared to be afraid to continue forward. He assumed they must be new or something. Actions understandable as knowing that you are walking headfirst into a place you could die was never a good thing.

Once he made it far down enough, with a very little number of people around, he materialized bis Chain Blade and continued forward towards the first floor. The hallways of this floor were light blue in coloration, it really wasn't anything too special. Yukio kept his eyes narrowed as he kept a lookout for his surroundings.

While this may be the first floor, he was still weak compared to most people in this world. That would definitely change, but he remained on guard as anything could happen. True to this, he stopped his advance when he noticed something happening to the wall just up ahead. A strange creature soon crawled itself out from the wall.

Yukio kept his gaze focused on it as the creature appeared to be some kind of monster with a dog-like head. Pretty disgusting looking. It looked like a caveman mixed with a grey werewolf, pretty stupid looking if he was being completely honest with you.

"Kobald, huh?" Yukio muttered as he saw the information that he was provided. It seemed that it wasn't that strong, understandable. He also took notice that it didn't have any form of intelligence, which probably meant this thing was just a mindless beast.

Yukio just waited as the kobold rushed at him with its claws ready to strike him, though that wasn't going to happen. Yukio twisted his body, allowing the beast to rush right past him. It seemed that this thing was pretty much as fast as he was, though predictable.

Just as the beast was about to turn around and slash at him, Yukio rushed forwards and swung his sword as he switched on the rotation. When he swung at the kobold, the blade sliced through easily, the spinning blade making it that much easier as the kobold's head dropped to the ground.

"Wow, that was easy..." Yukio blinked as he looked at his blade. He switched on the spinning to get rid of some of the blood. Thankfully, it seemed that the blood that got onto his body and clothes slowly disappeared as if it didn't exist in the first place. Same being said for the blood on the Chain Blade that didn't get flicked off.

It was an interesting little perk with the Gamer System, but he wasn't going to complain. He didn't want to be soaked in blood.

Time to keep going.

[]———————————————————[]

Boring.

That was the best word to summarise what he had experienced thus far from coming into this dungeon, the monsters were weak. He continued going deeper and deeper into the dungeon, and was currently in the tenth floor if he didn't miscount. Took him around two hours if he was not mistaken.

He made sure to collect all of the magic stones from the monsters, they were worth something, so he might as well collect them all. He also noticed that he didn't actually get any money for killing them, so that was another reason why he collected the magic stones.

He had also been able to level up a number of times as well thanks to the number of monsters that he had come across, along with some of the weaker ones becoming stronger the further he went down.

Using the status points he got, he distributed them into the ones he wanted. He made sure to put some into magic as he wanted the ability to start using his Sky Dragon Slayer Magic. Doing so will make it much easier for him to get stronger and fight against monsters that are stronger than him due to the enchantments he can do.

The amount of mana he used when casting spells varied depending on how much power he put into, which was understandable. Enchantments that he had tested out had a fixed amount of mana, and he noticed that the cost for the enchantments got larger the stronger he got.

This made sense as the stronger he becomes, the more powerful the effect of the enchantment he produces will have. Anyway, he was now walking through the tenth floor, having a slightly difficult time seeing where he was as there was a layer of mist around him.

It wasn't at all impossible for him to see, though it was definitely pretty annoying.

"Hm?" Yukio stopped his advance when he heard some kind of loud groan mixed with a growl, and it sounded pretty close. Yukio then quickly jumped back as his ears twitched, having heard the loud roar coming towards him from above.

This was mainly thanks to his Dragon Slayer Magic as it seems that his sense of smell and hearing were greatly improved. Yukio narrowed his eyes at the entity that tried to crush him, and he could see that the creature towered over him.

Probably three or so meters tall, appeared almost like a damn pig, and wore a tattered hide around the waist, looking like a skirt.

"Hoh~... Interesting." Yukio smirked as he saw the new enemy that had made itself known. "An orc, huh? You're pretty strong." This orc was definitely stronger than any of the other monsters he has faced before, so this should be interesting.

The orc was pretty slow as Yukio easily dodged a punch that it sent, shaking the ground as the ground cracked slightly beneath its fist. As Yukio slashed at the orc's chest, he was a bit surprised to see that the cut was only a few centimeters deep.

True, the rotation wasn't turned on, but that was still pretty impressive. Just from looking at the creature, he could tell certain parts had thicker skin compared to others. Especially the neck, stomach, and arms.

Despite the pain the orc felt, it swung both fists down towards Yukio, though the male didn't appear panicked despite the situation. He seemed to gather wind beneath his feet, and once his feet hit the ground, he shot backward at incredible speed for a split second.

What he basically did was utilize winds to propel himself, that was the basic gist of what he had just done to avoid getting hit.

"O swift wind that dashes through the heavens!" Yukio quickly chanted as a green magic circle appeared beneath him. The chanting felt weird, but it was necessary to cast the spell according to the information he was given. "Vernier!"

After having done so, he charged forwards at incredible speed as his movement speed improved greatly. Probably almost twice as fast as he was before. The orc wasn't able to counter nor land a hit as Yukio ran at it from all directions, clashing continuously without mercy as large cuts appeared all over the orc's body.

This wasn't even with the rotation on his sword being switched on, the momentum he got from the speed he was going also made it easier to deliver devastating slashes. As the orc fell down to its knees, Yukio smirked before jumping up into the air, hanging in the air directly above the orc.

He dismissed his chain blade before taking a massive lung full of air, to which he then opened his mouth and gave a loud shout. "Sky Dragon's Roar!"

The effect was immediate as a powerful torrent of wind erupted from his mouth, crashing down onto the orc as it was forced down onto the ground. The ground beneath the orc also cracked under the pressure of the wind, speaking volumes of the power that the attack held.

Once he was done, Yukio stopped and landed on the ground gracefully. He looked at the orc and watched as it disappeared into black smoke, leaving behind a large magic stone.

"Well, that was pretty interesting." Yukio chuckled as he walked on over to the stone before placing it into his inventory. There were many ways he could have beaten that orc, a number of easier ways as well. Though, he did want to test out a few more spells.

『You have leveled up』

『You have leveled up』

『You have leveled up』

Looking at his status, he noticed that his mana had gone down a decent bit, probably due to the unnecessary amount of power he put into that roar.

Well, not like it mattered too much right now as his mana reserves were slowly regenerating by the second.

His enchantment also wore off as his speed returned to normal. He didn't get hit either, so he didn't lose any health during that fight.

After thinking about it for a bit, he decided to allocate the points he had just got into magic, strength, and vitality.

Yukio nodded his head in satisfaction with his stats, it was looking good so far. He wanted more mana so he could use his spells more frequently. The speed in which his magic reserves regenerate wasn't the greatest, so having more could compensate for that. His attention was soon caught by a notification that soon popped up in front of him.

『Quest Complete』

Title: To New Land

● Objective 1: Make your way to the city of Orario

● Objective 2: Enter the dungeon

● Objective 3: Get to level 10

『Rewards』

● 20,000 Currency

● Roulette Item Wheel x1

● Random Skill Book

[]———————————————————[]

Yukio blinked for a second in surprise before smiling as he saw this, his first quest was complete. He could see that the money had been added to his current balance. He was definitely interested to check his inventory to see what that skill book was, along with what this item wheel would get him.

However, that could wait. He should probably get out of the dungeon first before looking at those. Would be the wisest thing to do.
