Chapter 6- Ren Uchiha is a rich boy

Fugaku Uchiha POV

Escorting his daughter and ward to the Shinobi Academy proved to be a humbling and hard experience for him. It marked their first step into the world of shinobi. And from this point onward, there would be no going back.

It was not as if he even had any real choice in this matter. With Itachi being as talented as she was, he always knew that she would have to become a kunoichi. There was no other viable option for her.

If he decided to keep Itachi back home in order to protect her then not only would she refuse but the rest of the Uchiha clan would also rise up in anger against him.

Those justifications didn't make this pill any easier to swallow.

His girl would become a kunoichi now. And he knew that even though the Elemental Nations were now in peace, there was a chance that his daughter would one day go out on a mission and never return.

He couldn't protect her past this point.

The only thing he can do is train her to the best of his abilities and then hope for the best.

As for Ren… He wasn't really all that worried about the boy.

At this point, the boy was strong enough that he could wipe the floor with any of the Chunin instructors at the academy. And his body was Resistant to the point that an average Jounin would find it almost impossible to harm him in any significant manner.

That didn't make Ren invincible, of course. He was well aware of all the strange Bloodlines and unique abilities the shinobi in this world had. But his abilities still gave Ren a far higher chances of survival than any other student that has ever walked through the gates of this Shinobi academy.

Plus, he was sure that Ren was hiding at least some of his true abilities from him. Though he had no idea to what extent.

'As if a 5-year-old Chunin/Jounin was not already bad enough.' He thought to himself with mild amusement.

Itachi Uchiha POV

5 years old

"Man… do all Hokage have a special super secret technique that allows them to give long and boring speeches." Ren asked as their 4th Hokage gave a speech to all the new students.

Some of the nearby students and even a few parents threw a scowl at Ren who completely ignored their existence in favour of looking bored and sleepy. Which she knew was a lie because Ren never slept unless he desired to do so.

She also knew that he was deliberately doing this in order to amuse himself. Otherwise he could've simply used his sound based Genjutsu on her as a single target instead of broadcasting it for everyone to hear.

"Show some respect to the Hokage." She hissed at him and then held back a sigh when he simply rolled his eyes at her.

"I'll show him respect when he starts giving better speeches. And ones that are only 5 minutes long." Ren said before he sidled up to her and put his chin on her shoulder.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm resting my head." He said and then chuckled softly at his 'joke'.

She poked him hard in the ribs for his behaviour but he completely ignored her and wrapped his arms around her.

"Itachi-chan, I'm bored."

She withheld a tired sigh in favour of keeping up with her stoic mask.

"Release me, Ren."

"Man, you look so cute when you're angry." He said as he rubbed his cheeks against hers.

"Release me. Right this instant."

Ren let out a chuckle but removed his arms from around her and back off a few steps away. "Mah mah Itachi-chan. So much anger is not good for your health." He paused and then added. "Dattabane!"

"That's not how that verbal tic- never mind." She looked up ahead at the Hokage and withheld another long suffering sigh.

Another long 15 minutes passed before the Hokage concluded his speech, officially welcoming the students to the Shinobi Academy as the future of Konoha.

And just in the right time as well. Because the people surrounding them looked like they were contemplating murder from all of Ren's incessant chattering.

—————

"This should be our class." She said as she stared at the 1-A board above the class entrance.

"Yup. Isn't this just great." Ren said with all the enthusiasm of a sloth as he stepped inside the room.

There were already a few students sitting in the room. And she was able to recognise them as belonging to the Nara, Akimichi, Yamanaka, Aburame, Hyuga and Inuzuka clan.

She immediately realised that this class was probably going to be filled with students from Konoha's major clans. And maybe a few civilian students who showed great aptitude in shinobi arts.

She wasn't sure how she felt about such one sided favouritism to clan kids.

Regardless, she gave a polite nod to the students who looked at them and then proceeded to sit in the front seat of the class… only for Ren to take her by the arm and drag her to the back end of the class, near the window.

"Ren. What are you doing?" She asked with forced calm, all her patience already spent from dealing with him in the student's assembly.

"We're going to sit here." Ren declared. "Because this is where all the protagonists in various anime sit."

'What the hell is an anime?' She wanted to ask, but she was well used to Ren's eccentricities by this point and decided that simply going along with him was for the best as it was the path of least resistance. And the least headache for her.

"Okay. But you'll not disturb me during the class." She told him sternly and then pursed her lips when he simply rolled his eyes at her. Again.

"Man, I don't think you've realised this Itachi-chan. But you're not going to learn anything of any significant value in these classes." He told her.

"I'll be the one who'll decide that." She said, though she had a foreboding feeling in her heart that Ren was likely to be spot-on with this. As he was about most things like these.

As it turned out, Ren was indeed right about this.

She did not learn anything of value on her first day at the academy. Nor would she learn anything new over the next few days or the next few weeks.

…she hated it when he was right.

—————

"Where are we going?" She asked as Ren pulled her along the bustling market streets of Konoha.

Given her mother's advanced pregnancy, she couldn't pick them up from school anymore.

So her mother told them to head directly back to the Uchiha Compound after leaving the Shinobi Academy.

Mother had given Ren a specially stern look when giving that order. The overly innocent look that Ren gave in return should've probably clued her into the fact that they would, in fact, not be returning home after leaving the Academy.

"We're going to sell my toys," Ren declared, displaying one of the creations he had crafted with his mastery over Earth Jutsu while they were in their classes.

The toys were made with hollowed cores so they didn't weigh much despite having been crafted from hard stone.

Ren went so far as to cast a Genjutsu on their Chunin Instructor to ensure they wouldn't discover his 'extra-curricular activities' and disturb him while he worked.

...she still hadn't told her father about this because she wasn't sure whether he'll be angry at Ren or feel proud of his actions.

"Did you forget what mother told us in the morning?" She asked.

"Of course not."

"Then why are we in the market?"

"We're just taking a longer route back home." He replied cheekily and she held the urge to facepalm herself.

"Do you think that this'll save you from mother's scolding?"

"Meh." He replied uncaringly before they finally arrived at a toy shop.

Over the next five minutes, she stood on the side and watched as Ren haggled with the shop owner for the price of his toys until they reached a satisfying conclusion and Ren sold a large bag filled with hundreds of little toys to the shop owner.

…where did that bag even came from? She was completely certain that he didn't bring any such thing to school.

Did Ren hid it in a Sealing scroll? But how did she miss him taking out that bag from a scroll?

Her eyes narrowed at Ren as he took a large stack of bills from the shop owner and threw her a cheeky smile, as if reading her mind and challenging her to find out where he got his bag from the next time.

"Where are we going next?" She asked as they left the toy shop and continued touring the market instead of returning back home. As she'd expected.

She really should stop hoping for the best when she's with Ren.

"You'll see." Ren said and took her to a Decoration shop next.

Here, he took out a dozen stone sculptures… out of thin air and negotiated with the shop owner for a high price.

"I didn't know that Sculptures could sell for such a high price." She said as they left the Decoration Shop.

After all, every single sculpture of his gave him enough money for an expensive D-rank or a cheap C-rank mission.

And she knew that Ren had made those Sculptures in only a few minutes because he'd crafted them right in front of her.

However, Ren simply shook his head in response to her words. "The price may appear steep to you, but it's not. Konoha doesn't really have a market for such things. Trust me, if I had sold these sculptures in the Capital of the Land of Fire, they would've fetched ten times their current price, easily."

She gave him a skeptical look but refrained from calling him a liar.

Because Ren wasn't the kind of person who boasted about his deeds. He didn't need to, when his deeds spoke for themselves.

Well... he did boast about himself some times. But that mostly for his own amusement than to impress others.

"Where to next?" She asked hoping that they'll finally get back home after this. But alas, it was not to be.

After that, Ren went to a flower shop where he sold dozens of beautiful vases. Then he went to a weapon shop and sold stands made for displaying those weapons. Next, he went to a clothe's store and sold humanoid sculptures that he called mannequins that could be used to display clothes to the customers.

After visiting half a dozen more shops, they finally arrived at a Jewellery shop where Ren sold a fist sized Jade to the shop owner for over 300,000 Ryo.

All in all, Ren had earned over the 2 million Ryo in this selling spree.

That's enough money to pay for 2 cheap S-class missions. Missions that would typically require a team of Jounins anywhere between a few weeks to a few months to complete.

…she was starting to see a new picture of why Ren didn't want to become a shinobi.

The job didn't pay enough.

"Where did you even get such a large piece of Jade?" She asked and then quickly added. "And don't tell me that you stole it. Because I know you didn't."

Ren looked a bit put down at her already seeing through his usual antics but then cheered up as he started to explain. "Do you remember the Naka River that goes through our Uchiha Compound."

"No, I must have somehow missed the large river going right through the middle of our Compound," she retorted, causing Ren to freeze in his steps.

"Was that sarcasm I heard? From the great Itachi-sama?" Ren asked, wearing a horrified expression, while her eyes narrowed at him.

"So what if it was?" she asked, crossing her arms.

"Nothing. I'm just surprised is all." Ren said before her continued walking. "Near the Naka river, there are a lot of stones with jade in it."

"Really?" she inquired, a bit taken aback. After all, if there were indeed Jade stones found near the river, more people would come to search for them, and she would have heard about it by now.

"Yeah. But the stones have so little jade in them that they're not really worth anything in the market."

"Then how did you find such a large piece of Jade?" She asked.

"I didn't," Ren replied with a smirk. "What I did instead was extract a tiny bit of jade from hundreds of stones and then combine it all to create that large piece of jade, which I then sold in that shop."

That… the amount of control over the Earth Element you would need to have to accomplish something like this…

She was sure that the Medics in Konoha Hospital used a similar technique to extract poison from blood. But those medics have years of training by that point and have phenomenal chakra control.

Though considering Ren's other accomplishments, she wondered why she was even surprised by this.

Only Ren would use his Phenomenal Chakra Control and his great affinity with Earth Release to process and sell gemstones.

If her father heard of this, she wondered if he would feel proud of his ingenuity or annoyed at him wasting his talents over such things.

For all she knew, he might even send out other Uchiha clansmen in order to gather more of these stones so that Ren could extract the Jade from them and earn more money for the clan.

Or he might ask Ren to teach this technique to other Uchiha clansmen and then this'll give the Uchiha clan a monopoly over the Jade business in Konoha and became another secret technique of their clan.

One that could potentially earn them millions of Ryo each month.

...

"Itachi? Are you coming?" Ren asked upon noticing that she'd stopped and she gave him a listless nod as she followed along.

"Where are we going next?" She asked upon noticing that they were still not going in the direction of their Clan Compound.

"You'll see." Ren said and then took them to one of the larger Orphanages in Konoha, where he proceeded to hand out a few toys to each orphan.

And half of his newly earned wealth to the matron as donation.

The joy on those little kids as they received their toys made her feel that the scolding they'll eventually get from her mother would be worth it.

Ren later refuted being an altruistic person and asserted that he only did it to enhance the Uchiha clan's reputation in Konoha, but she didn't believe him in the slightest.

Kakashi Hatake POV

He stared at the tiny Uchiha who should still be in his classes with Kushina-san but had climbed up to the rooftop to pested him instead.

"Psst. Hey. Scarecrow guy. See what I've brought with me."

He side glanced at the boy and noticed him holding a Orange book with the title Icha-Icha written on it.

That book… felt familiar for some reason. But he couldn't recall where he'd seen it.

"Go away. I'm currently on duty, guarding Kushina-san," he informed the boy, once again pondering how the boy managed to find him. The boy always seemed to turn in his direction when he came over for his classes with Kushina-san.

At first, he thought that the boy was lucky in spotting him but as time went by and the boy noticed him each time, he realised that the boy must have a sensory ability of some kind.

From that point onward, he started doing his best to hide from the boy. He made sure to get rid of all his scent, he muffled his footsteps and breathed lightly, he used Genjutsu to cover his form, and he did his best to hide his chakra signature.

But the boy still found him. Every. Single. Time.

For a Jounin to be found out again and again by an academy brat was a rather humiliating experience.

This was the first time the boy had approached him though, so even though he feigned disinterest, he was a bit curious about what the boy wanted from him.

"But don't you want to read this book?" The boy asked as he presented the book like it was some sort of great treasure.

"No."

"Do you even know who wrote this book."

"No."

"It is written by Jiraiya-sama, one of the Great Sannin." The boy said in a hushed whisper. "Don't you want to delve all the profound insights written by Jiraiya-sama?"

Well… that was tempting.

A book written by one of the Sannin himself. He had been unaware that Jiraiya-sama wrote books. However, Rin had mentioned that Tsunade-sama had authored a dozen books, and those writings had revolutionized the perception of the field of Medical Jutsu.

A book written by Jiraiya-sama, the Sensei of his Sensei, the 4th Hokage, was probably filled with great insights about Ninjutsu and other fields of Shinobi arts.

"…very well. But only for five minutes." He said.

The boy gave him a strange smile as he handed him the book. "Take all the time you need to read it. I'll be down there, focusing on my studies."

AN: MC has reached Tier 5 in power level at this point. Meaning the strength between Chunin-Jounin but still far away from Kage level. He has also unlocked 2nd Tomoe Sharingan but he hides it behind an illusion so no one else knows about it.

Because of all these advancements, he unlocked 3 new features in the Gamer System. Those Features being Observe, Inventory and Title System.

Aside from that, nothing much has changed.

Sure, Ren and Itachi now go to the Shinobi Academy but the curriculum there is so easy that they don't really learn much of anything there.

Ren also sold some of sculptures that he'd been making for some time. He mostly worked on sculptures in order to grind his Earth Release affinity. But if he can create and sell stuff while doing his grind, then nothing is wrong with that either.

He also got Kakashi his infamous orange book... so there's that.
