Chapter 41: A Fierce Storm of Beasts
“No!” Alyssa exclaimed as she jerked forward.
“Something wrong?” Derek asked turning to face Alyssa, who was sitting upright next to the pool of water.
“I…ah…don’t think so,” Alyssa said as she gathered her thoughts. It was day, although still as bleak and cloudy as it had been. She felt well rested, so she assumed that was she had experienced was a very vivid dream, yet it had felt so real. As she looked around though, there weren’t any signs of the small winged creatures or the route she had taken to get to the underground pool of fire.
“You’re sure everything is alright.” Derek asked still looking concerned.
“Yes, everything is fine.” Alyssa responded as she stood to her feet. “You look like you’re feeling more than alright.”
