"Cough, cough!" A coughing sound came from the entrance. The previously frightened Professor, who had been the first to flee, returned, his face somewhat unnatural. He said, "There might have been an earthquake. Just in case, quickly leave the building and head to the playground. Don't stay in or stand by the buildings."

As soon as Professor had finished speaking, he slipped away. It was a miracle that the short earthquake hadn't caused the school building to collapse. If it happened again, it could be catastrophic.

At that moment, the entire school building was in chaos, with everyone rushing to escape the classrooms, pushing to get out and hoping to leave the building as quickly as possible.

"What is happening?" Su Yu managed to squeeze his way out to the corridor, he looked up at the sky, only to see it dark and gloomy, filled with thick layers of clouds. There was an inexplicable sense of oppression.

It was just clear and sunny a while ago, so why has it changed so drastically after some shaking?

Looking down, he saw waves of people rushing from the buildings across the school, flocking towards the open playground.

The school was clearly preparing for the worst-case scenario and had ordered everyone to evacuate the buildings and assemble on the playground.

Everywhere, people were pushing against each other. Su Yu was stuck on the third-floor corridor, unable to move forward, his mind filled with worries about his best friend Zhang Zhongmou and his dream girl Ning Yan.

"In such a critical situation, a man can truly show his mettle. But... where is Ning Yan?" Su Yu dreamily thought, turning his head in search of her, he was unable to locate Ning Yan anywhere.

As people continued to escape the building, the crowd thinned. Su Yu begrudgingly accepted that Ning Yan was nowhere to be seen and he had lost the chance to show his heroism.

Just as he was lamenting, a sudden shrill scream sounded from afar.

In his twenty-one years of life, Su Yu had never heard such a horrifying scream. It felt like a sharp nail was driven straight into his brain, making his skin crawl.

Not just him, every person who had heard that scream changed color and looked in the direction of the sound.

Su Yu distinctly remembered that it came from the direction of the school gate.

This wasn't a prestigious university and it wasn't huge. It only had three teaching buildings, a library, a cafeteria, a small convenience store, a field, and the aforementioned gates. So, the gates were not far from the classrooms.

Just as this idea hit him, a second terrifying scream followed.

Thinking about the two security guards at the school gate, Su Yu, who was on the third-floor corridor, got a high view and saw something unbelievable unfolding below.

A group of green-skinned, naked creatures, about the height of a thirteen or fourteen-year-old child, rushed in from the direction of the gate.

Su Yu's eyesight was sharp and he could clearly see the creatures. They had large eyes, sunken noses, and big bloody mouths. Their skin was green and they were each holding a wooden round bat.

Su Yu couldn't believe his eyes; the same reaction echoed throughout the crowds around him. Their eyes were so wide that it felt for a moment like their brains had short-circuited.

First, the building had shaken, then the sky had darkened, followed by screams, and now these strange creatures had appeared. Was this all a dream? At that moment, some people even tried to pinch themselves to see if they were dreaming.

This group of green-skinned creatures, about a dozen of them and each with a club, approached the field with terrifying speed where scared students were gathered.

While the majority of the students were still stunned, few snapped back to reality, screaming and running for their lives.

"Tsk!"

From the third floor, Su Yu could see everything. He watched as the fastest green-skinned creature swung its bat with horrifying speed and power at a student in glasses who was still dumbfounded.

Then, the student's head shattered, the blood splattered like cherry blossoms mixed with white brain matter.

Isn't the human skull supposed to be one of the toughest things? How did it shatter so easily?

In that moment, a strange thought crossed Su Yu's mind. He realized that these green-skinned creatures resembled the goblins he had encountered in many video games.

With the death of the first student, the green-skinned creatures plunged into the crowds. Each swing of their bats resulted in a student dropping to the ground, their heads split open.

The sight of gory crimson blood and insides nauseated the students on the building, causing them to vomit on the spot.

The field was in complete chaos. The students were running around like headless chickens, screaming and scattering in all directions.

"Quick, call 110 —"

Finally, someone snapped back to reality and started yelling while running and attempting to call for help.

Su Yu also came to his senses. Thanks to frequently having to help his mother with household chores like killing chickens and cutting fish, he was used to seeing blood. Even though the scene was ghastly, he did not feel like throwing up and, like most people, his first instinct was to call the police for help.

However, after pulling out his phone, he realized that there wasn't even a single bar of signal. Some people, refusing to believe it, tried frantically to make calls, but without any luck.

"Ah, they're coming up, they're coming up!" Suddenly, someone yelled in fear from ahead. Su Yu looked down and saw one of the creatures charging into the crowd and into the school building, followed by screams echoing from inside the building.
