A Failed Pro's Resurgence

After Humanity fails to stop an incoming meteorite from hitting Earth, everyone despairs. Just as the world is ending everyone on Earth is transmigrated to a game-like world. After being transmigrated, everyone from Earth is given their own private world in which they need to survive in. Watch as a failed pro gamer rises to the challenge and overcomes everyone. - Auxiliary chapter is background setting (info dumps) but it's not very important as it mostly discusses Earth and the story will take place in an alternate world. Will try to get out at least 1 chapter a day hopefully 2. I'm a slow writer but I will try to improve my writing speed.

Spring

As Sam descended into Desolate Waste he couldn't help but feel goosebumps rise on his skin from his nervousness.

Ding.

Sam had entered Desolate Waste and wow.

Sam no longer had any goosebumps as it was hot. However there was no humidity as there was no water.

It was hotter then a hot summer day.

Sam quickly began to sweat buckets.

Sam looked around himself and saw that he had spawned right near one of the many jagged mountains that dotted the landscape.

Lava flowed down from the mountains side and branched out surrounding Sam's location.

When Sam noticed this he really wanted to curse his luck.

"I'm on a small lava island. Is this what happens after using [Lucky Guess]? Does it just use all of my luck" Sam muttered.

It really felt that way anyway.

"My first goal should be to get off this stupid miniature island at least." Sam announced.

Thankfully the lava river was not impassable as it was only a meter on his left side.

Still Sam had never jumped over lava thought to himself of the many ways he could die.

"What if I misstep on my runup and plunge into the lava. Or what if the rock on the other side breaks at the last moments." Sam chattered to himself.

After breathing in the hot air Sam instantly took back to reality feeling the heat, literally.

'The rocky ground is sturdy and won't break very easily. It's only a meter I won't need to pull a giant runup like in the Olympics. A 2 or 3 step momentum boost will do.'

Sam for his age wasn't short. Actually he was taller than the average man at 1.25 meters tall. Making him have longer legs. In the end increasing his survival chance of jumping.

"I'm overthinking this, let's just jump." As Sam swore silently to himself.

Sam took a few steps back from the edge of the lava.

"Ready, Go!" Sam said

Sam stepped to the lava and took a leap forward.

Thud.

Sam easily landed on the other side.

Phew.

"Now that that's over, the next goal is to scale this mountain in hopes for the spring." Sam said as he craned his neck to look up the steep mountain.

With that Sam started his ascent of the Mountain.

..

"Darn. I hate climbing. Holding onto a wall where I could lose my grip and fall to my death. Well as every tv show says don't look down." Sam gulped.

Sam had reached a point on the mountain where he could no longer just walk up the steepness. He now had to begin climbing.

Latching his hands onto the slight rock indents he began climbing.

It was tiring in the sweltering heat and climbing a sharp mountain didn't help it all. Not to even mention that he was not very athletic. Thank god he had managed his health a little on Earth. Running in the mornings as his parents pestered him to exercise.

..

Finally, Sam reached a flat area on the mountain. He had been climbing for nearly an hour.

He wasn't even sure if he could continue much after this platform as the mountain got steeper and was difficult to climb.

Sam started to scour the area as it was relatively big.

As Sam looked around in every nook and cranny for some kind of spring he found nothing.

His mouth already felt parched from all the hard work climbing took and in the heat.

"Damn!!" Sam yelled.

He had once again gotten unlucky. Not finding water on this mountain was seriously bad. He probably only had enough energy to climb up 1 more mountain as he had already used a lot of his water in his body fueling him to climb this mountain.

'I guess I can only wait for my [Lucky Guess] to go off cooldown. Then I'll guess which mountain has the spring. That'll work.' Sam thought as he didn't want to use his voice as it was dry from the lack of water.

The spring began to feel like a mythical existence to Sam in this water lacking world of his.

'Imagine all that water in the spring. I hope it'll taste good.' Thought Sam.

Sam decided to sleep while he waited for the cooldown. He didn't really know how much time had passed in his world. However he hoped he would get lucky just this once and when he awoke the cooldown would be over.

As Sam fell asleep thinking about how his family was doing.

Zzz

When Sam woke up he was lucky for once. His cooldown had ended. The air even felt cooler for whatever reason. Maybe the moon had come out while he slept.

He felt the same luck again and he was sure that he could take another guess now.

Sam thought back to the small connection he had gotten when he first used it.

Looking out to the rock filled world that belonged to him his eyes glanced over the mountains. Then one caught his eye and he immediately knew this one had the most chance of having water.

Excited, Sam decided to immediately begin descending while the air was still cooler.

The moment Sam looked downwards he was once again reminded of his small fear of heights. Well perhaps his fear of death.

Sam still stuck his foot downwards until he felt something he could hold onto.

Feeling his feet tingle from the tall height, Sam continued down.

...

After who knows how much time had passed.

Sam reached flat ground again.

'Sigh flat ground is the best. Even if it's still this rocky waste.' Sam thought.

Sam noticed his movements had already begun to slow down as he was running even lower on water. Thankfully, all he had to do now was climb up the mountain he had bet on. Then he would surely reach the legendary Spring.

Jumping over a few small lava rivers, Sam walked towards his chosen mountain.

'My body already feels heavy. Every step feels like I'm carrying a 50 pound backpack.' Sam thought.

When Sam reached the mountain he noticed there seemed to be a little lava flowing down. Perhaps this was due to their being a Spring.

As Sam once again began his climb, although it was cooler then before it was still hot. Sam no longer sweat as he didn't have any water in his body.

'Arg. I have to get this Spring quicker. My body is already starting to feel heavy. Just a little more. Come on!'

Sam persevered as he climbed up the mountain imagining the Spring with water, giving him motivation.

When Sam finally reached a similar platform as his previous mountain he spotted it.

A small pond hiding inside the mountain.

Sam used his full energy to get to the water. As Sam stumbled to the water he tripped face first a few feet from the edge of the water. He crawled to the water and scooped as much as he could into his mouth.

Sam chocked on the water because he had drank to much.

'My luck!! Can't you just leave me in peace in this joyous moment.' Sam thought.

Cough Cough.

Sam coughed out the water stuck in his chest.

Once again Sam dipped his entire head into the water and drank more.

The water was lukewarm but still cooler then the surrounding air.

Ah.

Sam felt alive again. This was definitely the best water he had ever tasted. It tasted like some gods drink to Sam.

Satisfaction was the only word that was in Sam's mind.

Looking into the water Sam could even see his reflection. The water was pristine and clean as far as Sam could tell.

Sam looked weary and tense.

Realizing this Sam exhaled. Inhale, exhale. Relaxing his shoulders and body, releasing all his stress.

Rumble.

Sam's tummy rumbled. Sam simply decided to drink more water in order to try calm his stomach.

After that Sam fell asleep as he was exhausted after climbing a mountain.
