20 Ch. 19 Impressive Show

POV Scott Summers Aka 'Cyclops'

"Forge, tell me what the hell is going on!?!?" I shouted out as I watched something impossible happen in front of me.

Having been one of the original X-men I have seen and done the impossible many times secret organizations, time travel, space travel, extra-dimensional TV shows, and more but most of those had been caused by outside factors not under my control but now systems that has been used countless times without issues suddenly changing right under my nose was a different situation.

Forge: "I have no idea..." he said and began muttering to himself as he typed away at a console.

Kitty: "Professor, do you know what's going on?" she asked, and I turned to see Xavior with a thoughtful expression on his face and a barely visible smile he hid well.

Xavior: "In a way you see the device that Mr.Valon has on his wrist he called it a Duel Disk and has been able to connect to our system to display his actions in a format that we can follow," he said nodding ever so like he was just remembering something.

"How is that possible? Our security is second only to Stark Tec security," I asked looking down to see Shawn dodge what looked like a minotaur wielding a battle ax.

Jean: "Forge, is there any danger to the students or our systems?" she asked gently watching the new student fighting with concern, but Forge shook his head.

Forge: "Not from what I can see whatever that Disk thingy is doing isn't messing with the base programming, and the emergency shutdown is still ready..." he said, trailing off while looking between Charles and me waiting for the go-ahead.

But we both just looked at each other, and then I nodded, and Xavior nodded back.

Xavior: "That won't be necessary Forege," he said as we watched a tiny orange dragon spew out a column of orange flames "...for the moment at least," he said eyes widening.

POV: Shawn Valon

As the feeling of heat goes away as well as the brightness around me, I scramble to my feet and look up to see the baby dragon struggling to catch its breath.

'But it's a robot how can it be tired?' I thought but focused quickly and took my chance and charged at the little dragon.

'Fuck me if I bought that expensive ass shield for nothing then I'm going to be pissed,' I thought as I closed the system shop going for an overhead swing.

But Baby Dragon dodged each one of my swings every time.

When I went to attack with my sword the little dragon beat its wings and avoided the attack before it could connect.

"You little...Stay still!" I shouted and the small dragon laughed as it dodged another swing and suddenly got in front of my face and opened it'd mouth to reveal a small fireball in the middle of its mouth but in just a few moments it doubled again and again.

I threw myself backward and with a thought, I felt an unfamiliar weight on my arm that forced me to take a knee, Just a moment later I felt the familiar wave of heat all around me but after a few seconds it stopped and I looked over my new shield to see a once agonizing exhausted Baby Dragon.

Seeing my chance with a quick jab forward with my sword the little dragon fell st the ground and a blue screen appeared.

I sigh and try to stand up straight but my arm refuses to move and I look down to see my arm strapped to my new shield 'It was much bigger than I thought it would be,' I thought and examined the shield and found it could easily protect all of my torso and a good amount of my legs if I held it up to my chest.

[Item]

•Millennium Shield

- A famous shield said to belong to an ancient Egyptian Pharaoh, Legends tell of its power to block any strong attack.

"It's also heavier than I thought it would be," I said trying to lift the damn thing but I found it hard to even lift the thing a few inches off the ground.

*Grrrr*

Listening to Red Eyes I channel some of my magic into the shield and immediately the thing becomes as light as a feather.

Just as I was practicing swinging my sword with my new shield I heard something behind me I turned to see a large man in black spiky armor wielding two curved but single-edged swords.

<Monster- Dark Blade>

<Level- 4>

[Stats]

Attack- 1800

Defense- 1500

Just as I had registered the monster in front of me I barely had a few seconds to raise my shield in time to block the two insanely fast sticks that threatened to leave more than just a mark on my body.

*Cling* *Clang* *Cling* *Clang* *Cling* *Clang*

The onslaught Dark Blade unleashed forced me to keep on the defensive each block of my shield runs like a bell in my ears.

*Clang* *Cling* *Clang* *Cling*

"Fu-*Clang*just back off!" I shouted as I swung out but my sword bounced backward and I felt a heavy thud almost push me off balance.

I heard a small cheer from one part of the watching crowd as Dark Blade thrust his sword forward past my shield and created a scratch on my armor.

Just that small contact pushed me over the edge and I lost my balance and fell on my back with a heavy thud.

I looked up and threw myself to the side as I saw Dark Blade smah his armored foot down on me his stomp creating a crack or dent in the ground.

'Fuck how am I supposed to beat this guy?' I thought as Dark Blade came right back at me bringing his swords down on my shield.

*Grrrrrr*

'I could but I would fail the mission,' I thought continuously blocking as I held my my shield.

*GGGRRR*

I ignored that last remark and focused on what was happening in front of me I hadn't failed a mission yet and I wasn't going to start now at least not if could help it.

Just as another heavy blow pushed me back an idea popped into my head and as I felt another attack land on my shield I pushed with all my strength and to my utter disbelief Dark Blade was off balance.

With a mighty swing with a bit of magic in it for good measure I cut the Monster in half horizontally.

Just as I finished reading my new rewards I noticed all the new monsters that now walked or flew toward me.

I stabbed Obnoxious Sword into the ground and activated my Duel Disk drawing my hand but as I did time seemed to slow down then a blue screen appeared.

[Skill: Quick Draw]

(Passive)

- Your draw has been enhanced now just for a few seconds your perception of time is sped up allowing you to focus on your hand.

"My first skill and it's so cool!" I said I had seen many Skill in the shop I would have loved to purchase but man were they expensive.

I placed my first card on the field and in a column of blue and white light a woman wearing white and silver armor with dark pink highlights appeared but the most striking thing about her was her large pure white wings and in her hand was an ornate spear.

Then time returned to normal and I heard many gasp and mutter others cheered and whistled at the display.

"Oh you guys ain't seen nothing yet," I said and pointed at the mob of monsters "Go Starry Knight Rayel," I shouted and my monster spun her spear and with a single beat of her wings charged forward raising a cloud of dust.

She gutted a dinosaur monster I recognized as Uraby before she ripped her spear from its body and instead of coming back to my side she continued to destroy more monsters.

'Huh guess things are a bit different in action duels,' I thought as I drew a card and activated the field spell Starry Knight Sky.

This gave me the ability to summon another "Starry Knight" monster and I summoned Starry Knight Flamel but unlike Rayel this armored angel was male its silver armor now had red highlights and he carried a silver bow instead of a spear.

<Monster- Starry Knight Flamel>

<Atribute- Light>

<Level- 4>

[Stats]

Attack- 1500

Defense- 1000

Just as Flamel was summoned, he flew into the air and drew back his silver bow, and in a burst of flames, a burning red arrow appeared nocked and ready to be fired.

Just as I watched Flamel fire a burning arrow I noticed I wasn't alone and quickly brought up my shield and blocked a stream of gunshots from Cyber Command.

<Level- 2>

Attack- 750

Defense- 700

"Shit that was too close," I said placing two cards face down and ending my turn only for my perception to slow down again.

Drawing my next card I looked at my hand and activated the continuous spell, Starry Knight Ceremony putting one card back into my deck and taking one out another.

"I activate my conti-" I began to say only to be interrupted mid-flow as I felt something hit my shield and push me back I looked to see the ugliest-looking monster I had seen at least so far.

<Monster- Great Angus>

<Atribute- Fire>

<Level- 4>

Attack- 1800

Defense- 600

As I regained my footing I noticed a card on the ground but this one had a stylized 'A' with a star in the middle.

'An Action card!' I thought and picked it up quickly and read its effect.

•Healing Word

-Gain 1,000 Life points.

The card burst into golden dust and a moment later I felt a surge of energy flow through me and all my aches and sore muscles went away.

Shawn LP: 4000 + 1000 = 5000

"Okay let's do this again I activate my continuous trap Starry Knight Arrival," I said and above me a golden gate appeared in the sky, and the golden stars in the sky took position around it.

Suddenly as if knowing what I was about to do the mob of monsters surged past my angels and roared toward me.

"Come dragon who destroys the nightmare of the world and fight by my side Starry Night, Starry Dragon!" I said my chant to my shock almost seemed amplified and seemed to have some kind of effect as the mob of monsters covered their ears in pain.

The Golden Gate in the air glowed and a blue swirling portal appeared and from it, a brilliant and almost blinding bright white light appeared, and as it died down the feathery winged pure white dragon appeared.

<Monster- Starry Night, Starry Dragon>

<Level- 7>

[Stats]

Attack- 2500

Defense- 2300

"Oh and just so everyone knows when Starry Dragon is summoned she can destroy any card on the field so let's show them your power Shooting Star Cannon!" I declared and pointed at the mob.

Starry Knight Dragon opened its wings wide and from its feathers, multiple beams of sparkling silver light impacted the mob of monsters.

But to my utter shock, the mob of monsters was gone all the monsters were destroyed this was confined a few moments later as the familiar robotic voice of the announcer sounded out.

[...Leval Charlie: Wave 1 completed beginning Level Charlie: Wave 2...]

Before I could do anything else many more monsters appeared but this time I saw a few Level 5 monsters with some fusion monsters as well.

'Oh...shit...' I thought as I drew my next card and time began to slow down at least for me.

(General POV)

The students and staff of the Xavior Institute watched on with many emotions some shock and awe while others were disbelief and a few in certain groups jealousy and resentment.

But what all of them could agree on was they were having the time of their life watching as a normal human (in physicality) summoned monsters and cast spells wielding a sword and shield while trying to fight off larger and stronger monsters each wave.

But soon news of this new student would make its way out of the school and would make future events all the more interesting for him and those who would be his companions.

The first chapter is already written and chapter 2 is in progress hope you guys are as excited as I am to see the Mc of that story and how his different situation and attitude effect how he does things.
