17 Ch. 16 Duel with the Founder

Location: Valon mansion

*Whish* *Whish* *Ting* *Shink* *Thwak*

"Fuck!" I yelled out as I fell on my back I gritted my teeth as waves of pain radiated from my stomach.

???: "You know I think your getting little better you can last 20 seconds rather than 10," a familiar voice said and I turned my head to see Felicia Hardy aka Black Cat.

She sat on the back porch with Helperbot both watching as I go through the daily torture that was called training with X-23.

[Shawn has gotten better...he has ceased to drop his sword when he falls]

"Thank you both for the positivity I feel so invigorated," I said my voice dry my eyes burned and from the sweat that dripped from my head.

A moment later I almost let out a yelp of surprise as I felt something grip my t-shirt and pull me up onto my feet to see X-23 wearing training gear her.

X-23: "Enough," she said her voice soft and quite but dull I nodded and started streaching.

It has been a full week since the attack on my mansion and somthings have change like X-23 started talking much to my surprise though she only says up to three or five words but its progress.

The system has also changed the daily quests have now been updated.

That was the new blue screen I awoke to the day right after the ambush and has been my daily living hell for the past few days.

But that wasn't the only thing that got an update I have more unopened gates and a few knew legendary duelists to play against.

As I felt my body stretch with each new position I took I also looked to see X-23 messing with her deck and Duel disk while Falisha observed and I heard the question before it was even spoken.

Felicia: "So when am I going to get my own magic cards master~" she said saying master in a certain way.

"How about you don't call me master ever again and I might think about giving magic to a thief," I said sarcastically while cracking my neck.

Ever since Felicia had seen me and X-23 Duel she's asked for her own deck and get as much information about duel monster as she can.

But since X-23 barely talks her only source of information is helperbot and myself and since the robot is loyal to me the only info she gets is what I want her to have.

Felicia: "Fine...so how are you planning on stealing these other magical doodads again," she asked smugly and I sighed.

Was I being a little hypocritical sure I'll admitted to that, but was I going to trust infamous thief nope not at all.

"Well of you must know I don't have the moment have a plan once I do I'll let you know," I said stretching my arms.

She grumbled something I couldn't hear when I heard a familiar ping from the system letting me know I had finished all my daily quests.

Collecting all the gems I fell to the ground with a sigh of relief but I couldn't stop thinking about what falisha said how was I going to get the other Millennium items.

I could just travel and collect them like the dragon balls but after the ambush I'm not to willing to leave my house unattended for long periods of time.

And if I bring X-23 with me ill have to watch my back the entire time and possibly deal with Weapons X plus we have to go to Xaviors school in a few weeks so right now isn't ideal.

'So what is my plan for getting the other Millennium items,' I thought getting up and and sitting down with the two girls.

*Grrrrr*

'You know I no nothing about running a business especially a magical card game,' *Snap* *Snap* my thoughts were interrupted by snapping of Felicias fingers right in front of my face.

Felicia: "Whatch thinking about so deeply..." she asked leaning forward.

I was about reply when a idea came to mind and I cured at my stupidity and stood up abruptly a smile growing on my face as I walked back into the yard.

Opening the system I quickly reached the list of legendary duelist that could help me since he had invented duel monsters.

POV 3rd person

Location: ???

In a darkened room a group of people sat around in a large table watching a projection of multiple video feeds.

Each showed the prospective of a soldier holding a gun all trained on the front door when suddenly the door burst open as two large lizards that could only be dinosaurs jumped into the closet soldiers and began tearing them apart.

The unexpected sight caused all the soldiers to faulter unable to process what they were seeing even witg the screams of their commrads reverbrating in all their ears.

But Those farther away saw a young girl follow right behind the dinosaurs adamantium claws extended forward int right into the chest of the unlucky soldier who happened to be in her way.

The video perspective one by one turned to static until finally all anyone saw was the static and chaotic grey of a disconnected live feed from the cameras.

???: "So who can explain to me what we just witnessed?" a distored voice said from the head of the table were a shadowy figure sat looking at all the others who sat.

No one said anything not wanting to be the first to speak and say something that not only ended their career but most likely there life in a very painful manner.

But after a few moments if silence the distorted voice spoke for them in a dark tone that made anyone thinking of a response glad they had held their mouths shut.

???: "What we see is incompetence on full display and it will not be tolrated..." he let the words echo in the room for a few moment letting everyone's imagine the implications "...So what do we know?" he asked his tone now neutral even through the distortion.

One of the many shadowy figures stood revealing they wore a lab coat and were probably male otherwise nothing else could be seem hidden in the darkness of the room.

???: "The house X-23 is hidden in a mansion that technically belongs to one Alex Dominick a librarian and private tutor," he said a picture if said man and all his personal information.

Alex Dominick was by all means a normal looking man in his mid 30's he had brown hair and eyes and skinny but tall 6'3 and enough muscle to look intimidating in the right cloths.

No criminal record to speak of and no strange bank statement by all accounts he was normal unlike the rest of his family.

???: "He is one of the only living member of the Valon family all of whom have either gone missing or have died-," the man was about to go on when a game stopped him.

From the chair across from him another man stood this one wearing a expensive business suite lowered his hand.

???: "You said technically owns the mansion what do you mean by that?" they said putting their hands together.

The labcoat wearing man didn't seem put off by the sudden intuption and a screen showing a will popped up in front of everyone's screens.

???: "Because Alex Dominick father famed archaeologists and explorer Jason Dominick left the mansion and everything else to Shawn Valon his grandson..." there was a moment of pause as everyone reviewed the information.

POV Shawn Valon

Location: Valon mansion

I stood straight my heart beating a mile a minute as I finbaly finished explaining everything I felt was needed to get the man standing in front of me to help.

Said man stood with a air of majesty and charm wearing a red suit and dress shoes he had long smoth silver hair went down past his shoulders and covered he left eye the other a copper brown.

This was Maximillion Pegasus the founder of duel monsters and the original wielder of the Millennium Eye.

He stood rubbing his chin before smiling and snapping his finger in a puff of pink smoke a tea set appeared and floated in front if the man who kept his eye focused on me the entire time.

Pegasus: "You want my help to bring the magic and wonder if Duel monsters to a world with out it to collect the Millennium items if this world before they can be miss used or even discovered..." he said like a question but the knowing smile told me he understood my situation.

He took a sip of the liquid which I assumed was some kind of tea or got drink before setting down the cup and with another snap of his finger the tea set dissaperd in another puff of smoke.

Pegasus: "Very well Shawny-boy I will help you achieve what I have achieved in this world..." he said gesturing extravagantly "...But on three conditions," he said holding up three fingers in front of him.

Well I expected something like this from him I thought and sighed and nodded my head.

"Ok what are your conditions," I asked feeling like I was making a deal with a devil but knowing I had no other option at the moment.

Pegasus: "First I want to name the company after myself..." he said and I nodded Pegasus Games has a nice ring to it.

Then Pegasus seemed to hesitate for a moment his charming smile faltering for a moment before returning.

Pegasus: "Secondly...the Millennium Eye keep it locked away so that no one makes the same mistakes I did," he asked in a more serious tone and I nodded.

"Done so what's the last condition," I asked and the serious tone disappeared as Pegasus smile returned and in a puff of smoke a duel disk appeared on his arm.

Pegasus: "We'll Shawny-boy I propose a duel to see if you are worthy of becoming this worlds master of duel monsters!" he said and I felt a smile on my face as i activated my duel disk.

"I thought you'd never ask!" I said and I felt Red-Eyes bloodlust and want for battle so I equipped my Red-Eyes deck.

Pegasus: "Hmph now try not to disappoint me Shawny-boy now...3!"

"...2..."

Both: "...1....Let's Duel!"

[Turn 1]

Shawn: 4000 C:5

Pegasus: 4000 C:5

Pegasus: "I'll go first and I activate Toon Bookmark and add Toonworld to my hand and activate it," he said and in a puff of familiar pink smoke a gigantic book appeared floating above and behind Pegasus.

The book opened down the middle and like a kids popup book a cartoon like castle poped out of the pages.

Pegasus: "Next by discarding one toon card I can special summon this fantastic toon come out and entertain Toon Dark Magician," in a puff of dark purple smoke the Toon Dark Magician appeared.

Pegasus: "And thanks to Toon Dark Magician I get to add one Toon spell or trap to my hand..," and the cartoon magician waved its wand in the air and a single card appeared in his hand "...and finally I end my turn by playing one card face down your move," he said bowing.

[Turn 1]

Shawn: 4000 C:5 +1

Pegasus: 4000 C:2

"First I activate my spell card Harpie's Feather Duster which destroys all spell and trap cards on your field," I declared and in a flash the large green feather appears in my hand.

Pegasus: "Not bad I should have expected something like this..." he said as I raised my hand hand and swung down causing a powerful gust of wind that destroyed the face but Toonworld didn't go away.

"But...how...?" I asked and Pegasus smiled and juestred to his graveyard where it glowed a dark purple.

Pegasus: "You see Shawny-boy thanks to Toon Bookmark's effect it gets banished saving my precious Toonworld," he said dramatically.

"Fine next I activate Red-Eyes Fusion by taking Summoned Skull and Red-Eyes from my deck to fusion summon...Archfiend Black Skull Dragon!" I shouted out as a portal opened on the field.

Out of the portal the dragon slowly floated out its head was the first to appear the skull like mask was at first pure while until the the bone like exhaust pipes on it's neck came through spewing out continued jests of fire that turned the white skull mask a dirty burnt grey.

As the rest of the fearsome dragon appears I felt the warmth I attributed to the Millennium Ring on my chest but I ignored it for now and refocused on the duel as I heard clapping coming from Pegasus and I saw him looking at my monster as if it was a giant dog.

Pegasus: *Clap* *Clap* *Clap* "What a magnificent creature such amazing power," he declared a excited smile on his face.

"Thank for the compliment now let me show you some of that that power first hand Go Hellfire Blast!" I shouted and Archfiend Black Skull Dragon roared causing the air to vibrate.

The jets if flame around Archfiend Black Skull Dragons neck became blue and it's mouth opened to reveal row apon row of dagger like teeth and from the depths if it's mouth a torrent of red planes spewed forth towards Toon Dark Magican.

The cartoon character eyes literally popped out if it's head at the sight before being consumed by the fire as did its master Pegasus recoiled as the flames hit him and slightly burned his suit.

Shawn: 4000

Pegasus: 4000 - 800 = 3200

As the attacked stopped were Toon Dark Magian stood was a pile of ash with the wand on top but a moment later the the pile of ask refromed into the cartoon character.

Pegasus: "Sorry but cartoons are far more difficult to destroy even with a powerful monster on your side," he said chuckling at his monsters antics.

"Well I didn't summon Archfiend Black Skull Dragon just for his power it's his effect that really burns up my opponents," I said smiling getting a confused look from the man.

Then a moment later the vissage of Red-Eyes black dragon appeared on the field floating next to Archfiend Black Skull Dragon.

"You see when Archfiend Black Skull Dragon successfully attacks and deals damage I can select a normal Red-eyes monster in my graveyard and you take damage equal to it's Atk points!" I declared and the vissage of Red-Eyes black dragon roared and flew into Pegasus exspolding and sending him sprawled onto his back.

Shawn: 4000

Pegasus: 3200 - 2400 = 800

"Now I set one monster face down and one card face down and end my turn your move," I said feeling a lot more confident seeing his life point drop.

But Pegasus didn't seem to mind his current situation an patted the dust off his singed suit and smiled confidently.

[Turn 2]

Shawn: 4000 C: 2

Pegasus: 800 C: 2 +1

Pegasus: "I draw now then first I activate the spell card pot of greed adding two cards to my hand," as he grabbed and looked at the cards his smile widened slightly "Next I activate the spell card Black Illusion Ritual!" he declared.

On the feild a two cups and a golden pot with a eye on it appeared from the golden pot pink smoke billowed outward.

"I herby sacrifice black stone of legend to ritual summon a monster only known as...RELINQUISHED!" he decleaed

The two cups suddenly guest into purple flames and from the pink smoke the monster appeared.

The sound of a glass and its contents falling to the ground and someone choking on something caught my attention but I ignored insisted focused on the eldritch horror in front of me its single eye looking right at me.

Pegasus: "Now Shawny-boy lets see if your worthy to bring duel monsters into this new world..." he said as Relinquished hover above him.
