124 CHAPTER 124

CHAPTER 124
289 AC
When I arrived in front of the gate, the shouting on the walls had increased, and I stopped 20 meters from the gate in order not to cause more panic. A voice rose above the walls,
"Identify yourself!"
"I am Ser Aermir Drasil Knight of Winterfell."
"Why are you here, and what is the thing you are riding?"
"I came here to meet Lord Stark, and what I'm riding is Sith, and she is a shadowcat."
Sith bowed her head like she was greeting them.
"I have never seen a shadowcat, even half of the size of this thing, and you are saying it is a shadowcat. Let alone touching this wild animal; how are you able to ride it?"
"I tamed it; that is all I can say."
"Show me proof of your Identity."
"Are you going to keep shouting from the top of the battlements? Is this how Lannisters welcome their guests."
"You are not a guest of the Lannisters until you verify your identity."
"You don't even have the decency to stand in front of me while saying those words?"
"Don't overestimate yourself; if we want to, we can kill you, but because of your beast, we will most likely lose 2 or 3 men, and I don't want to endanger the lives of my man for my pride."
"Then show me the courtesy to at least provide your name so I can know who I have to thank for this hospitality."
I had already sent a message with Poe to inform Lord Stark; I knew the Westerlands' knights were going to cause inconvenience for me because I am from The North, and the presence of Sith wasn't helping. Most of the Southern knights see us as heretics or fake knights because we take our oaths in the name of Old Gods.
"I am Ser Loreon Lannister!"
If he is put here, he must be an unimportant member of the branch family to real Lannisters.
"Now we know each other. Are you going to provide entry to me?"
"I am not going to take that thing to the inside of this castle. At least not without chains."

Sith let out a bone-shaking roar. Thereupon, the confusion on the walls grew even more, and many arrows were directed toward us. I slowly ran my hand over the soft fur of Sith and said,
-Calm down, Sith. No one can chain you while I'm here.-
POV NED STARK
We were in deep discussion with other lords over war strategies. I haven't seen Robert's eyes shine this bright and full of life in years. With each passing year, he was getting fatter and weary of life. Some even started to call him Fat Deer or Pig King, but now the Devil of the Trident stood right in front of me. Seeing this Robert, I felt like it was just yesterday he united the seven kingdoms.
While we were discussing how to besiege and conquer the Iron Islands, we were also wondering what was going on in Seagard. Just then, a raven that I was used to seeing landed in front of the window and started to caw. I think it was called Doe or Poe. Lord Tywin's cupbearer, shoo it off, I said,
"Wait!"
Cupbearer froze, and everyone turned to me.
"That raven came for me."
when I raised my hand, the raven flew up and landed on my arm. It was holding a piece of paper in its talons, and it dropped the message in my hand and flew back out the window. After reading the note, I turned to Lord Tywin and said,
"Lord Tywin, it looks like one of my knights, Ser Aermir Drasil, is not able to enter the castle. Could I learn the reason for this?"
With a stone-cold face, Lord Tywin just looked at the knight standing next to the door and the knight ran out of the room. A few minutes later, he returned and said something to Lord Tywin's ear. Lord Tywin looked at the knight in disbelief, and the knight said,
"The messenger saw this beast and swears it's bigger than a horse."
Lord Tywin turned towards me and then said,
"It looks like your knight rides a peculiar wild animal, which is why he is not granted access to the castle. On top of that, he refuses to chain the beast."
I knew from Jory Cassel's reports that Aermir was riding a giant shadowcat, but I had not seen for myself how big this animal was. After I took the oath ritual, he told me about his powers, but I still don't know the depth of his power. All I know is I cannot bow to him or make him an enemy. I hate being the lord paramount; Brandon is supposed to be the lord. All I wanted to do was own a small keep and live a quiet life, but Old Gods have different plans for me, and it looks like they have bigger plans for Aermir.
"Yes, he rides a really big shadowcat, but do not worry, he is a warg, so his animal won't lash out unless provoked."
When I said that, Lord Tywin and everyone who knew what that meant looked at me with surprised faces. Lord Tywin looked at me with his dead cold eyes and said,
"I thought the wargs were only real in old wife stories."
"Ohh, they are real as it gets. He is able to control a few animals."

POV MC
After waiting for twenty minutes, the doors finally opened. On the back of the Sith, I walked slowly through the door. When I entered the door, standing by the door was a man with greasy blond hair combed back and green eyes. After bowing mockingly while smirking, he said,
"Ser Aermir, if that beast hurts someone, you will pay dearly."
It was like I suddenly felt a pulsating vein on the top of my forehead. I was going to put this man where he belongs in anger, but at that moment, Lyka came to my mind, and I remembered how she died because I could not control myself. So, I began to compel myself and calmly turned to him and said.
"Ser... Ser Lerneon... Ser Lerlen..."
I looked at him as if asking for his name.
"Ser Loreon Lannister!"
"Ah yes, Ser Lannister, do not worry; I will show the utmost care."
