As Hailey Gibbons sliced off another monster head, she thought about how much she hated washing blood off of things. And slicing off heads. And everything about her life in general. 

She had never wanted to be a monster hunter but she didn't exactly have a choice. She had to learn how to defend herself after they kept coming after her and ended up saving more lives than just her own in the process. 

Once upon a time, she had been a normal kid with a normal life. Then the vampires found her and decided to use her as their own personal blood bank, killing her family so no one would be looking for her. She spent four years as a blood slave before another monster hunter tracked down their nest and killed them all, setting her free.
