66 That's An Offer I Can't Refuse

Bree really didn't want to go back inside. This was the first fresh air she had gotten in weeks. But eventually Jasper's phone rang.

Rather than barking into it like usual, he let out a heavy sigh before turning his head to look at her. His gray eyes stared into her soul and she felt her heart constrict. What was he doing?!

"I don't know what they want me for but I need to go. We can come back outside tomorrow, okay? You can probably get better rest in your room anyway."

He was being surprisingly calm. She had never seen him react that way to being summoned before. Was he purposely trying to appear less threatening in front of her? She wasn't sure that would work considering how huge and intimidating he was.

A small part of Bree could appreciate his effort though. She had used up all of her bravery (or was it stupidity?) earlier so she wasn't going to put up a fuss about going back to her room.

"Alright. Thanks for letting me come outside."
