Chapter 17

At the hospital Sam told Caidy all about what happened in the mountains.

"So at first it was just a normal hike, until a coyote came..."

"What happened next!" asked Caidy.

"Then Polar came in and he chased the coyote, then he bit it and it ran away..."

"Wow Polar! You saved Sam's life!" She said looking at me. Then Sam left the room and it was just me and Caidy.

"I always wished I had a dog, but my mom hates dogs..." Caidy said. "I had a dog a long time ago. Her name was Ruby. She was very friendly but my mom punished her when she did something bad." I looked up at Caidy, wanting to know the rest of the story. "One day Ruby was digging up the flowers and my mom got mad. Ruby got scared and bit my mom, then she ran away. No one knows where Ruby is now." I felt bad for Caidy, losing a pet is not easy. "I juist hope she's okay..." Caidy said as a tear fell down her eye. I licked Caidy to cheer her up.
