Lesson in Adversity
I cried until my heart felt drained, tears flowing freely until my eyes were puffy and exhausted. The weight of my emotions had taken its toll, leaving me emotionally spent. I lay on my back, staring up at the ceiling, lost in a sea of thoughts and unanswered questions. The passing hours merged together, with no one venturing into my room to offer comfort or solace. Alone with my thoughts, I remained submerged in my sorrow.
As the evening stretched on, a soft, gentle knock resounded through the room, pulling me out of my reverie. I mustered the strength to respond, my voice filled with weariness but tinged with a hint of curiosity.
"Come in," I called out, allowing the visitors to enter my sanctuary.
It was Rix and Sania, their concerned expressions etched upon their faces. Their presence brought a glimmer of light to the darkness that had enveloped me.
