Descent into the Abyss
The weight of my predicament bore down on me heavily, gnawing at my every thought. As I stood there, contemplating my uncertain fate, an unwelcome voice pierced through the turmoil within me, cold and callous. "Where will she go, is not your concern," it taunted. "She chose this punishment for herself. Now she must learn to bear the consequences. But one thing is clear—she cannot remain here."
A plea emerged from the depths of my despair, as Sarah, my sister, interjected with a request to our mother. "Mum, please, let her stay here until she finds another place. She's family, after all."
Her words hung in the air, suspended between hope and uncertainty. Would my mother relent, softening her hardened heart? The response, however, dashed any lingering optimism within me. "No," she declared with unwavering conviction. "She must depart from our house as swiftly as possible. You have no inkling of the destruction and shame she could bring upon us."
