A Stranger on the Door
Slamming the heavy oak door of my room behind me, frustration and anger coursing through my veins, I tossed my handbag onto the neatly made bed. I stood in front of the ornate, full-length mirror, my reflection capturing my distressed state. The apartment seemed to drown in an eerie silence, amplifying the echoes of Carl's hurtful words reverberating in my ears.
