42 Sparing with the Avengers

<Next Day>

We've been on the boat for about three days now and being honest, seeing nothing but water is starting to annoy me. I sometimes make huge Ice structures and drop them in the water, but they melt too fast.

It was fun for a while till I got bored. Everyone else was too and it showed with how quiet and gloomy the atmosphere on the ship was. We just got up, ate, look at the water, watch some TV, then go to sleep.

Of course we do our hygiene or it would have been worse. I sighed as I looked over the water with my hand hanging over the rail. I did talk to Viviana at night though. But that wasn't any better since life in NY was going normal for the moment.

'What if heroes s just beat up small time criminals so they aren't bored?' I thought. It would be a logical reason besides them being heroes

I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned my head to a side glance. It was Steve with some of his boxing gear. Drinking with them was fun last night, but it didn't have an effect on me. Thor even gave me a shot of that 500 year old wine.

When I took the shot I almost fell out of my seat, but my healing factor cleared it up instantly.

"I was wondering if we could have a spar? I wanted to sharpen my skills, and I thought you would be the best partner to push me." He said slightly scratching the back of his head.

It would relive me of boredom and I could have a spar with Captain America. I wanted to see if we fought with equal strength, who would win? In the movies Steve was only able to do what he did because of the serum, but what if he fought them on equal grounds?

Would he win because he had experience or his fighting style? The outcome could come out either way. You can be experiencing and still get tricked, by a fighting style, but the same thing can be said in vise versa.

The thing is though is that the way Hydra was trained then and now aren't the same.

"Yeah." I said and I took some gloves he handed me. I looked at them in wonder.

'What if I said no?' I thought. He had his gloves and mine, but wouldn't it get weird if I said no and he had to go shadow box or box with Natasha.

{YOU HEARD EM EVERYBODY THE MATCH BETWEEN CAPTAIN AMERICA AND AC BOY IS UNDER WAY. THE TIME FOR THIS MATCH IS SET IN TEN MINUTES. Don't forget to place your bets any and all bet money will be permitted to the rightful winner of the bet.}

Tony's voice was heard all around the ship and I looked at him through a glass window. He was sitting in a chair by the intercom as he looked at us. Since this ship is modified, he could probably pick up on any conversion in the ship.

Me and Steve looked at each other, but while my face was it's more common stoic face, his was one of frustration. Him and Steve didn't see eye to eye about everything anyway, so I didn't mind it much.

With a low sighs we both made our way down the hall and into the boxing room.

....

Me and Steve stood in a ring putting on the gloves. I honestly wasn't expecting Tony to have a boxing ring on this damn ship, but he does.

"Let's have a good match." Steve said as we bumped gloves. I nodded to him and we put our guards up. I was obviously taught many different styles of fighting and boxing was the first since I contained the basics to a fight.

Steve was the first to move and he closed our distance in about a step. My height was 5'5 and he was 6'1. That gave him a reach advantage and it showed when he threw a right hook. I ducked but he had a knee coming to my face.

Using my left arm to block, I threw a quick jab to his stomach. We were equal in strength so the damage was done, but without speed the punch didn't have the same power as his punch.

It still mad him back up a bit and I used that to swiftly come in and close the distance. I got right in his face and threw a tight hook then a left and I went for a right kick to the head, but he blocked it with his glove and punched me in the jaw.

He didn't have much power to it, but he still did damage. I stumbled back a bit and regained my balance.

"HEY WASN'T THE KID STRONGER? WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Tony yelled seeing that I didn't do him in with one punch.

"This is a spar Tony." Natasha said plainly as she took a sip of wine. We didn't tell them anything about our spar, but they just came to watch and made bets.

Tony put 100 grand on me, because I beat all of them in the past, so he thought I would beat Steve easily. Bruce put 10 grand on Steve, because he thought that experience wins every time.

Natasha didn't bet, because she just wanted to watch. I wouldn't bet either, because it wouldn't bring me anything I need and taking unnecessary risks is dumb to me.

Anyways back to the fight.

We gave each other breathing room, but I regained my stamina faster. I rushed in and punched at his jaw. Leaning his head to the left he was about to throw a right, but my left was already coming to his jaw again.

He skipped back a bit and I got closer and kicked at his head again. He blocked it like before, but that was a setup for a strong left. It hit him square in the jaw and I saw his facial expression go blank for a second before getting his mind together.

Unfortunately that second is all I needed to land right at his jaw. He stumbled back and almost fell, but Steve is here because of his endurance. I needed to knock him out if I want to win.

'This is just a spar, so why do I need to win?' I questioned. We started circling each other with our guard up. He came in again, but this time he started with a kick to the head that was followed by a punch to the stomach.

I blocked the kick, but flexed my abs so the kick doesn't do much. I stumbled back and he threw a right to my face and I moved my head to my left. He started throwing attacks at me left and right.

I was backed up to a corner and he sent a right hook to my jaw. I ducked under it and moved behind him. His position is now in the corner and I started punching at his stomach.

I could tell he was out of breath and hurt. This wasn't a real match and we still have a mission that needs to be done, so I stopped my last punch just before hitting him.

This match was mine from the start really. Even though I can decide how much strength I put out, I don't decide how fast my stamina comes back or how much endurance I have and I can see his attacks even when there coming.

In this spar I could have come out scotch free and he wouldn't even be able to touch me, but I wanted the match to be decided on skills and not just strength.

So when he did hit me or caught one of my blind spots I acted accordingly. I stumbled back, hesitated on hits and I lowered the power in my punches when he did certain things.

I backed up and pulled him up and he held on to his rib cage. My hits were aimed there, but nothing broken.

"Damn that was a nice match."

"Language Steve!!" Tony said urgently. He came from the bleachers with a dramatic face of "Disappointment" when Steve cursed.

"We should do this another time, but not when we have a mission two days away." Steve added. I nodded and he stood up straight and stretched.

"How much stronger than us are you? And that time during the invasion, you were invisible. Since when was that a thing?" Bruce said as he looked at me.

I hunched my shoulders with an "I don't know" look on my face. The looked at me with a stare saying "Oh really?"

'Matrix when we get home, make me an acting simulator.'

[Ah yes. This could be used for so much different bed play sir. I alwa-]

'I just wanted to get my lying together. How would this even help with "bed play" isn't it just sex?'

[...Sir we have very much to talk about.]

I saw the images of a butler fixing his glasses and speaking in a serious British accent.

I sighed as I walked to my room.
