19 Midtown High and The Ancient One

After yesterday's events I had nothing to do, so I just went back home and spent the rest of the day doing anything.

It was the next day and I was just finishing my workout when I felt someone at my door.

[Master, it's an agent.]

'Can't even have a proper day off and now this.' I sighed and went to the door.

"Yes?" I asked blandly. He gave me a folder.

"A mission from the director, sir." He said. I took the folder and the agent left. The agent was wearing casually clothes and in a regular car.

I closed the door and went to the couch. I opened the folder and my eyes focused on two words.

"Midtown High." I muttered. I was conflicted about this. I could easily go with Peter and take some some of the spiders for myself along with some of his DNA.

Then again, I could just sneak in as well. I do want to test the suit out.

'Oh, right, I don't have the receivers set up. I also need to tag the nano-bytes with the signal.' I sighed again. The suit was almost done.

"Well getting into the school and going in leisurely is easier and I have to put in less effort, but do I really want to go back to high-school?" I muttered I myself.

I sighed again. This was a mission that was given to me from Nick, so I might as well do it.

I read the rest of the contents of the mission and apparently there was a energy signature in that school. That reminded me of something.

Mutants.

I haven't heard of them yet. Either they don't exist here or they aren't well known yet. I then remember I never checked if I have a X-gene. I felt a little stupid.

How could I forget whole omega level mutants and other powerful things. I get up and went in front of a scanner and cut my finger.

"Matrix, can you scan my blood to find a X-gene?"

[Certainly master one moment...there does seem to be an abnormal X-gene in your blood and DNA. Do you want me to find a way to separate them, sir?]

"Thank you Matrix, but no this will be useful. Send a message to Nick and tell him I accept."

[Yes sir.]

I then plopped down on my couch and closed my eyes to think.

[Should I make your papers for the school transfer?]

"No, if I have papers made they would think I'm good with machinery. I only asked them for materials nothing to technical. They only know I'm good with weapons. I'll let them handle it."

[Yes sir.]

'Now how do I activate my X-gene. Usually it's under stress or hunger.'

It'll be hard for me to get stressed out over anything, so I went with making myself starve or be in a state of severe hunger.

With that I opened my eyes and went outside where I noticed an agent in a car waiting for me. The ride was like usual with a silence that I liked. We got to the base fairly fast and Nick was already waiting with Natasha.

...

"You already have the details on your mission. Natasha will be accompanying you as a teacher." Nick said.

"We already have your transfer information sent to the school and you start tomorrow." He then walked off, but I wanted to say something.

"You do know I'm twelve." I said with a monotone voice. Natasha and Nick didn't seem fazed, but all the agents that heard this had their eyes wide open.

'I guess that was never said. Not that I care.' I hunched my shoulders slightly and heard Nick speak.

"You may be twelve, but in looks and height your fourteen and with your mind seat I know damn well your smarter than professors. You'll do fine." He walked off with a smirk.

'It wasn't even a contest. I just wanted to see what he thought.' I looked at his back strangely and Natasha tapped my shoulder.

"Hm?"

"We'll go on a debriefing to get our roles together." She said and walked off. I followed and we got to the car that drove me to the base.

....

"Aren't you getting anything?" Asked Natasha.

"I'm going on a diet." I said simply. Mia came up to our table with an envelope in her hand.

"Here is your paycheck. We'll be slowing things down around for a while and you were the one to save all of the people here including me, so there's a little extra." She said and took Natashas order.

"We have to act like we don't know each other. No weird look either. You should also act like normal student. You know interact with people." She said.

"So you want me to play with children?" I asked blank.

"Your younger than all of them and yes. You can't be some edgy loner all the time." Natasha said.

I nodded and we talked a bit before parting ways. I went home to make food that I wasn't going to eat, so I can get hungrier. The smell made my stomach rumble, but that wasn't enough.

I needed to starve. That would take some time as well, but less than stressing myself out. I did this till night time and went to sleep not being as hungry as I thought.

...

<Third POV>

Eren was sleeping in his bed wrapped in the warmth of his blanket when his eyes shot open.

[Sir, the time is 5:00am. You still have time before school starts at 8:00am.]

The British robotic voice was Matrix talking to Eren. He got out of his bed and spoke to the air.

"It's fine. My body is like it's own alarm, so even if I wanted to go to sleep I need to do a lot."

Eren then went to his closet and got some casual clothes to wear to his 'new school'. He walked into the bathroom and closed the door preparing for a shower and to do basic hygiene.

....

After fifteen minutes he came back out of the bathroom in black jeans, a white shirt under a champion jacket. He wore some black and white one's and he didn't even bother with his hair.

It just never worked out. He skipped breakfast telling Matrix that he was going to starve himself. Matrix was obviously against it till Eren explained why.

[Sir, you still have a lot of time before school starts. What will you do now?]

"The sun hasn't started rising yet, so I'm going to find a good place to watch it. Keep me updated with the time from my phone."

Said Eren before leaving the house. It was still dark and the street lights were still on. He just ran looking for a tall place to see the sunset clearly.

....

He soon found a good skyscraper and shot a web up it before slingshotting himself up. He didn't get caught because he was simply to fast for cameras to see him. Even if they were slowed down it would only be a blur. Eren would also have these recordings deleted for safety measures.

He was atop a skyscraper and sat right on the edge. The sun started peeking over the horizon painting the sky a dark autumn color. It was beautiful and one of the few things that brought a noticeably big smile on Eren's face.

His smile got smaller as he closed his eyes and felt the wind in his hair.

Just then he felt the air behind him distort. Eren shit his head behind him and immediately got ready to kill whatever it was. When he turned around it was a bald woman in yellow robes.

"I'm not here to harm you, Eren." The lady said. Eren knew she was The Ancient One, but he kept his guard up. He wasn't in any stance, because they generally give away your first move or slims your attack choices.

"I'm only here to observe for now and give you an offer. I want to teach you magic, but I require something in return."

'Magic would be useful, but the fact that she wants something from me is the problem, what if it's something I have a slim chance of surviving.'

"We can talk about this later, you have something to do know right?" She asked with a smirk and just then Matrix spoke from my phone.

[Sir you have one hour to get to school.]

Eren looked at her once more before jumping off the rooftop and on to another till he was back on the ground and started sprinting.

....

<First POV>

I made it to midtown high in a few minutes and walked with all the other students to the doors. I got obvious looks from students, but shrugged them off and just played some music in some earphones I made.

They didn't have cords and were in my ear so people could see them. My hearing was good enough and even if I didn't have it up high I would still be able to hear the music and the people around me.

I walked into the school and went right to the front office.

"Are you the new transfer?"

'Duh.' I thought.

"Yes."

"Here is your timetable and a map of the school. Have a nice day." Said the lady at the desk. I nodded and walked off.

....

I went to my locker and grabbed my backpack, because I didn't want to carry the books. I then walked to my first period classroom which was math.

Then began my day of boredom.
