55 Chapter 55

Later that night, Leonardo was in the Barn Loft while Clark groaned in pain. In his hands, Leonardo was working on a movie script. For he felt it would be a shame if this world didn't get a legendary line from a spartan king. Which from what he could learn and looked into with Aurora family contacts. No movie director or script writer has put forth such a thing.

"You know Clark, groaning won't make you sweat the kryptonite out faster." Leonardo answered.

"You're just saying that because you aren't the one covered in bruises." Clark replied.

"True, but who is the one that wants to play football?" Leonardo replied.

"I thought you supported me in my choice." Clark winced as he moved a bit.

"I do, but I didn't know it came with a mountain of whining." Leonardo replied, while stopping writing to look at Clark. "I'm glad you are finally getting out of your shell, and attempting to have a normal year. However, Clark, even if you cut back your time at the Torch, make time to be there. Journalism has a far longer career for you to explore than football."

"You seem dead set on making me a journalist." Clark stared at Leonardo.

"A journalist? Maybe I seem a bit biased in pushing you that way, but you have a talent for writing. It is something you could strive for since besides picking your super brain, your other abilities aren't much use." Leonardo answered. "Sure you can use them to land a story, but they won't help you to turn that story into words."

"Then why don't I write a novel?" Clark grunted.

"I have a few topics you can write about. They are in a jar next to the bed, and just reach in and pull one out to write." Leonardo said. "It will be interesting where you take the story."

Clark just stared at Leonardo, not very amused. However, they both turned and heard someone coming up the steps. Clark got up and was going to say something when he was punched by a guy in a gray sweatshirt.

"Coach, what are you doing?" Clark asked more from shock than pain from the punch.

"Stay away from my girl." Jason said.

Leonardo hopped off the couch and just punched Jason in the face while giving him a black eye. Which scared him off as he basically jumped down the stairs and ran off. Making both just blink at the randomness.

"That was weird." Leonardo simply said. "Even if he was high on love, that was strange."

"Yeah." Clark agreed, grabbing Leonardo's outstretched hand.

It wasn't even a few minutes later that another pair of footsteps were heard entering the barn. Only this time, the visitor came in a black suit and without any hair on his head. For it was Clark's former friend, Lex Luthor.

"You're very popular tonight." Leonardo joked to Clark. "You didn't chat with his girl either, did you? If so, should I say I am proud of you or worried about your taste."

"Ha-ha." Clark said. "Lex, up here."

Down below, Lex was looking around before he heard Clark's voice from up above. Where he frowned slightly since the two were looking down at him. Leonardo guessed either this wasn't a social visit or his narcissistic personality kicked in and felt the two were looking down on him.

"I just saw someone rushing out of the farm. Do you know who he is?" Lex asked.

"Depends, are you here to beat up Clark about talking to your girl too?" Leonardo asked.

"Knock it off, Leonardo." Clark sighed.

"Well, we both know he is going to tell some story, Lana is going to believe it and the two will do the legendary bed tango." Leonardo answered.

"So you do know who just ran out?" Lex said as he climbed the stairs.

When he reached the top, he noticed Clark discomfort and slightly swollen cheek where he was just punched. Then noticed Clark in slight pain with slight confusion written on his face. Since he rarely sees Clark injured.

"What happened to you? Did he beat you up with a baseball bat?"

"Bad day at practice for the most part." Clark replied.

"Ok, so do you want to tell me who was running?" Lex asked.

"I didn't get a good look." Clark began before Leonardo kicked him. "Fine, it was Jason Teague. We assume he is dating Lana since they spend quite a bit of time together at and after school. Despite him being the assistant coach, and he is currently dosed with the cheerleader love potion. Thus currently not thinking straight and ruled by love and jealousy."

"Want to run that by me again." Lex asked.

"Well, you two can chat, I am going inside." Leonardo left.

Leonardo had his fill of Lex and didn't want to be around him anymore. Hence he decided to excuse himself to leave Clark chatting with him. Since Lex clearly came to chat with Clark about something which was probably in an attempt to revive their broken friendship.

--

When Leonardo entered his and Clark's room, he found a blonde reporter in Clark's bed with only his football jersey on. Blinking once then twice, Leonardo just turns to leave as if pretending not to see this. For he didn't feel like dealing with this issue and more importantly to see Clark's embarrassment once it was discovered.

So he backtracked down to the living room where Aurora and Martha were watching some new television drama. Neither Jonathan nor him were interested in it since it didn't capture their interest. For it about some horse ranch.

"Wasn't this episode last week?" Leonardo asked.

"It's a rerun before the new episode." Aurora said.

Leonardo looked at the time and realized it wasn't as late as he thought it was. He had looked at the clock wrong and shrugged.

"You know what would be interesting? A TV series about mining gold." Leonardo said.

While he wasn't an avid watcher of Gold Rush in his world, he did like watching when he did. It was something his uncle and he did for a while before it was him and his grandmother. For it would air the nights he didn't work and they would watch it.

"How is mining gold interesting?" Aurora asked.

"Well think about it, with a bit of television magic, we get to see them tossing large amounts of dirt through large machines and washing it down to grab little pellets of gold. Toss in a bit of drama of machines breaking down or sprinkle a little life drama on the side. Bam, a television show that is not too cheesy and shows the difficulty of mining gold is made." Leonardo explained his idea.

"Well, I do believe my family has a few contacts with television stations. Either they or their children stopped by one of my family clubs. So if you write out a plan, we can sell it to them for a television series. Just it might not happen." Aurora answered. "Besides, wouldn't it be interesting to go mining the gold yourself?"

Leonardo tilted his head in thought. It wasn't impossible to go mining by himself and it would be interesting to do at least once. So he did give it a thought for a moment.

"Well, once graduation happens, we can look into next year. I will need time to figure out where to dig and get through all the regulations, digging equipment and what else. Not to mention how to operate and how to mine too." Leonardo answered. "If anything, after having fun, we can just toss it to others to run it. Thus, profits…again."

"You know there is more to life than money right?" Jonathan asked.

"Well yeah, but why turn down the opportunity to earn some on the side? I get to have the fun of doing what caught my interest, while turning it into a career for others." Leonardo shrugged. "Thus, I do three things with one stone. Create jobs, earn money, and experience new things."
