Your benefactor

Jenny started her shift like normal and saw that to her surprise the young doctor she usually worked with was also on duty today. He was typing his files when Jenny walked up to him and asked, "How come you're here today? Don't you only work weekdays?" He looked up from the screen and answered like the wise ass that he was, "Well, how come you are here? Don't you also only work on weekdays?" Jenny rolled her eyes, "Fine, don't tell me. I have work to do." The doctor chuckled at her annoyed expression and followed her to start the rounds. As they walked the halls Jenny started yawning. By the third yawn the doctor had to ask, "What's up with all the yawning? Did you have a late night?" Jenny's face lit up brightly as she smilingly said, "No, just an early morning." The doctor didn't understand and asked, "Why were you up early? You were free till now, right?" Jenny was glowing as she explained. "I was, but I got an birthday surprise. So, it was worth the seven o'clock wake up call."

He abruptly turned to the side, "It's your birthday today?" Jenny nodded with an innocent expression. "Why didn't you tell me? I would have gotten you something." "That's okay. I didn't tell you because I wanted anything or because I expected anything. I am being spoiled plenty." Jenny responded with a chuckle, rejecting his intentions in the process. "No, that is no good. We have to do something. How about I take you out to dinner after our shift?" Jenny shook her head, "Thank you, but there is really no need. I have plans already. If you want to give me anything, then give me an hour off, so I can be in time for my dinner." The doctor sighed and conceded reluctantly. "Fine, if that is what you want, then I will make it happen." Jenny jumped up gleefully and clasped her hands. With a bright smile Jenny said, "Guess you can be a nice guy when you want to be." The doctor used his clipboard to tap Jenny on top of her head, "Hey! Is that any way to say thank you? Besides, I have always been a nice guy." Jenny chuckled as she rubbed her head and said, "Yes, yes, you are the kindest doctor alive. I am forever grateful for the kindness you have bestowed upon me today." The words were dripping with sarcasm, but there wasn't much he could say. Instead he let his ego do the rest and said, "That is more like it. As long as you know who your benefactor is."

Jokingly they finished their rounds and it became time for Jenny to leave. She wished everyone a good night and rushed off into one of the bathrooms in the building. She needed to change into another outfit as her work clothes were hardly suitable for going out for dinner. Especially to the places that Jason usually took her. So, she had brought a second outfit along, as well as some make up and accessories to finish her look. While she locked the door and started changing, she called Jason to let him know that he could come pick her up earlier. "Hi Jason, I managed to get an hour off from work, so you can pick me up whenever your ready. I am changing now, but I should be finished in fifteen minutes or so." Though Jason responded excitedly, this change in plans was actually quite disastrous for him. He suddenly lost out of an hour of preparation time, but he couldn't let that show. Otherwise Jenny would know that something was up. He dropped whatever he was doing and got changed. After that he rushed out of the door and went to pick Jenny up.

By the time that Jason was outside, Jenny had finished getting ready as well and walked out of the bathroom. Catching everyone's attention, including the your doctor. He thought to himself, "Who is she going to dinner with? Dressed like that, could it be she has a boyfriend already?" But whatever his suspicions, there was no way for him to confirm it as everyone was gushing over her stunning princess blue dress and white glitter shoes. She had paired it off with a white faux fur coat, to shield her from the cold. Before he had a chance to say she looked beautiful as well, Jenny was waving them all goodbye and was walking out of the door. There she was greeted by a sharply dressed Jason, who had worn a light blue tie to match her outfit and they were off to what would be a lovely dinner.

After enjoying a romantic dinner in a revolving restaurant, something Jenny liked very much, they headed back to Westwood mansion. In the car ride over, Jason was discussing the rest of their plans for the evening. "When we get back, I will head into the kitchen to put on the finishing touches on the cake and I will light the candles. You had one this morning, so I still owe you seventeen candles. It should be quite spectacular. Not to toot my own horn, but I outdid myself. It turned out even better than the cupcake you had this morning and I managed to bake you a three-story high cake." Jenny's eyes lit up from the mere thought of eating a cake that was even better than the one she had this morning. "Three-story high?! How are we ever going to finish all of that." Jenny asked with a shocked expression. "It will be fine. From what I know, my Jenny has quite a large appetite and cake like this can be frozen. So we can cut it up in smaller portions and put it in the freezer. That way you can have a piece whenever you want." Hearing this, Jenny felt that this birthday kept getting better and better!
