Yesterday was yesterday, today is today

As he watched his mother leave, James was delighted that he had earned the right to spend the night. Jenny lifted James once more, much to Jason's annoyance, and carried the little boy to the entrance so he could wave his mother goodbye. After James's mother had disappeared into the distance, Jenny turned around with the boy in her arms as Jason closed the door behind them. Jenny looked at her watch and saw the time. When she saw that it was past seven, she carried James upstairs. Though it wasn't bedtime for her and Jason, it sure was for a boy his age. "Look at the time little man, we have to get you to bed. But first, a bath." James let Jenny carry him upstairs without much protest. He had been having a lot of fun today and was getting quite tired. Plus, he didn't want to create more trouble for her. While looking down and as he was fiddling with the frilly collar on Jenny's shirt, he asked with a hesitant look, "Can I take a bath with you sister Jenny?" Before Jenny got the chance to answer him, Jason fastened his step and pushed himself between the two as he said "Absolutely not! If you need someone to bathe with, you can have one with me." He grabbed the boy and lifted him in his arms before carrying him up the rest of the steps.

Jason took to his and Jenny's room under much protest from the little boy. He was pounding his little fists against Jason's back and chest, but with the force he carried, he might as well have been patting Jason. Jenny chuckled as she watched James be carried up the stairs against his will by the jealous prince that resided in the Westwood kingdom. "I don't want to take a bath with you. I want to take a bath with sister Jenny." Jason smirked at the boy and said, "Not in this lifetime little bud. Besides, didn't we become friends as well? We got along pretty well before your mom came right." "Humph, who wants to be friends with you." Jenny followed the two up the stairs and once she reached the room, she saw how Jason pretended to be shot in the heart after James said these words, after which Jason threw James on the bed earning him a high pitched shriek from the boy. Jenny shook her head as she chuckled once more from Jason's silly antics.

Jenny entered the room, while Jason went to grab a few towels and some clothes to change into for himself and James. Jenny lowered her body to be on eye level with James and made him a compromise. "I might not be able to have a bath with you, because my prince is too jealous for that, but I can accompany you after you guys are in the water. That way I will still be around. How does that sound?" While James saw a glimmer of hope return and happily accepted, Jason, who overheard her words, took this chance to tease Jenny as well. As he walked up from behind her, he put his arm around her waist and pulled her close. He put on a naughty look as whispered in her ear "Oh my, I didn't think you would be so daring as to join us for a bath. If that is what you like why don't you join me instead of the little brat." Jenny elbowed Jason in his side as she hissed back with a flushed face, "Stop it, you pervert! There is a small child here." Jason shrugged his shoulders as he let go to fill the tub with water and said "I didn't invite him here. If it were up to me, he would be home a long time ago." James looked in confusion at their interaction and it was that look that made Jenny fall in love with the boy once more. She lifted him from the bed and peppered his cheeks with small kisses as she took him to the bathroom.

Jenny helped him take off his clothes before gently placing him in the bubble filled tub, when she caught Jason removing his clothes as well from the corner of her eye. Slightly embarrassed she walked out of the bathroom for a moment with rushed steps to allow Jason to join James in the water. Once she got the 'oké' from Jason, she walked back in to accompany the both of them. She took a seat on the wide stone steps at the edge of the tub and chatted with the boy, blew bubbles in his face, and helped wash his hair.

As Jason watched the special treatment James was receiving, he looked at Jenny with clear eyes as he said, "I am still waiting. Don't forget about me."

Jenny looked back at him with slight confusion. "What are you talking about. What are you waiting for?". "You washed the kid's hair, when is my turn?"

"Didn't you take a shower yesterday? What is there to wash?"

"Yesterday was yesterday, today is today."

Jenny blinked a few times to let Jason's words sink in, before saying, "Are you serious?"

Jenny turned her focus to James who was silently watching the two of them and said, "Do you understand any of this James. It kind of makes you wonder who the child is and who the adult, doesn't it?"

James giggled, but Jason was just as determined as ever, feeling no embarrassment at all and not caring about who was there to watch he said, "As a person who has called me jealous more than once today, you should have known that I wouldn't just watch as you spoil him and ignore me. So, no backing down now."
