Worried for nothing

As promised by both father and son, the plane ride went smoothly and without any crying. Charlie simply sat on Jenny's lap and entertained himself with one of the toys they had brought along for him, while occasionally asking for Jenny's attention or company. Charlie was a big hit with the stewardesses and with the other passengers as well. Not only was he being so well behaved, which they did not expect when they let out their initial sigh from seeing a baby on their flight, but he was also such a beautiful baby that they couldn't help but look in his direction. Charlie of course did not repay their curiosity, keeping all his attention for Jenny and occasionally for his father and grandparents. Ignoring all those that did not belong to that list. Even when they tried to tempt him with first time flyers gifts or sweets and snacks.

With a bit of sulk and a hint of jealousy Jason, who hadn't gotten much attention from Jenny during the flight, said, "He really only has eyes for you, hmm.. He had better find a different person to put his focus on soon or find a way to deal with it when I cut this short once he is old enough to walk on his own." To which Charlie held onto Jenny even tighter in protest. Jenny simply chuckled at his words before telling him, "Don't you dare. Our boy is perfect just the way he is. Don't take your jealousy out on him. He can be my little man and cling onto me for however long he wants. He will stop when he is ready. So, I will enjoy it while this affectionate side of him lasts." Jason turned away with a 'ché' but with a daring look in her eyes Jenny turned Jason's face back towards her with a single finger under his chin. Having found a good opportunity to tease Jason and stand up for her son she whispered close to his lips, "If I catch you bullying my son, you won't get the opportunity to create a sibling for him in a long time."

Hearing Jenny's threat, Jason's eyes grew a bit wider for a moment before narrowing in a contemplating look. Knowing full well that Jenny was the only person he could not beat and her threatening him with something he was not willing to give up, he let out a soft sigh before turning back towards the window as he accepted the situation for now. Though he had resigned to his fate, he too was quite smart and in no ways a quitter. Focussing on the 'if I catch you' instead of the consequences he was determined to find a way if his son indeed insisted on sticking to Jenny the way that he was currently doing. But he would learn that though Charlie insisted on sticking close to Jenny, he soon would have someone sticking to him as well. Teaching him the joy Jenny was feeling from Charlie's behaviour towards her, by letting him experience it first hand with Charlie's future sibling.

Though Jenny had reprimanded Jason, she did find his jealousy endearing in its own way. Getting a good deal of amusement at his annoyances and attempts to get Charlie to keep his distance, even though he was still just a baby. So, when Jason turned away to face the window instead of her or the front, Jenny chuckled once more at his way of dealing with the situation. Not wanting to tease him too much, she attempted to appease him a bit by grabbing his hand that was resting on the seat and locking his fingers with hers. She felt him glance towards her from over his shoulders and heard another soft 'ché'. Only this one sounding amused instead of upset. Once he averted his gaze back towards the scene outside of the window, Jenny let out a big smirk. It spread over her face and replaced the stoic expression she had forced herself to wear when he looked over to sell the image of 'I am doing nothing'. An act Jason did not believe for even a second causing part of his amusement in the first place.

Before they knew it, the time to land had already arrived. When Jenny heard the pilot's announcement she was relieved and surprised that the flight had already passed. She pulled Charlie tightly against her and placed a kiss on each of his cheeks. "I am so proud of my handsome boy. You did so well. Thank you for proving that mommy had been worried about nothing." Charlie accepted her compliments with a big smile and a captivating sparkle in his eyes, making Jenny feel like plant another big kiss on his cheeks.

When the tires touched the ground and they were allowed to unfasten their seatbelts, Jenny handed Charlie to Jason, who was in charge of most of the carrying. Though Jenny was fine with holding Charlie inside the house or him sitting on her lap, as Charlie was too heavy for Jenny to carry for longer periods of time or longer distances, Jason usually held him outside of the house. With him following Jason's physique, he was growing taller and heavier very fast. This being another aspect in which he was ahead of his peers. Falling in the height and weight class of children at least six months older. Once everyone was unbuckled and had grabbed their overhead carryon, they were ready to get off the plane. As they walked towards the exit, Jenny was waving and smiling in her son's stead at everyone who was making a final attempt at getting Charlie's attention. He of course continued to ignore them much like his father who was carrying him past them, leaving Jenny to somewhat mend the hurt feelings of the staff and other passengers.

Here we are with today's chapter. Since I won't know how writing tomorrow will go, I will be publishing just one chapter for today and I will give you a double release tomorrow. Just like last week, I will do a double release every other day as more than that right now is not feasable. I hope you enjoy and I will be back here tomorrow with two more chapters!
