Won't let you forget

Looking at Eva's curious eyes with a hint of scepticism with his clear and unwavering eyes, Charlie told her, "Very simple, your voice is slightly higher than Anna's and when you walk, you place your right foot down faster than Anna. Causing for a different rhythm in your steps from Anna." Like this Eva was completely defeated by him. But even now that she knew all the differences there apparently were between her and her sister, she still had a hard time believing these differences were enough for a person to tell them apart in split second. But maybe that was the difference between a genius and a normal person.

After a soft sigh she dropped herself on the warm planks of the veranda and said, "I give up. I have been playing this game with you for years now and not once have I gotten you to slip up. Not even a slip of the tongue." Wondering how he would respond, she decided to waters a bit by touching a subject that made a blush appear on her face. "If you ever get a girlfriend, she will get really jealous with you remembering such details of the other girls around you. So, you should really save those skills of yours for a girl you like before someone gets the wrong idea."

Charlie looked up again from his book and looked at her silently for a moment and in the same confident voice from before he responded with a short, "I did." Having waited for so long, he could not quite put his finger on why he had decided now was the time to make a move. All he knew was that when he saw her flushed cheeks that she tried to cover with her arms and he heard the tone in her voice that she was obviously desperately hiding, he felt that this was a do or die moment. Though he had been in similar situations with Eva many times in the past, he couldn't help but feel that this time was different. So, after debating with himself internally, he decided that he had waited long enough. He had been offered the perfect opportunity and all he needed to do was take it. So, he took it and now all he could do was wait for her response.

And boy did Eva respond. She immediately turned her face to the side towards Charlie in a fluster and asked in the calmest tone of voice she could muster up, "You did what?" Her heart was beating a mile a minute and in her mind she continued the part of the question she couldn't say out loud. The words 'Did you get a girlfriend...?' were stuck in the back of her throat as she waited for the long seconds to pass between her question and Charlie's answer. But Charlie, who saw that her face had turned even redder than before and her anxious eyes, gave her an answer that set her worries at ease while pushing her heart in overdrive. "I did save it for a girl I like."

After Eva continued to look at him silently with widened eyes he continued the move he had started. "Do you really think I know these kinds of things of any girl? The only reason I know so much about Anna is because I want to tell her apart from you. I have liked you for as long as I can remember but I didn't want to do anything with these feelings unless I was sure that you felt the same way and were ready for this. But something tells me that both those questions can now be answered with yes."

Not quite believing what she was hearing, Eva continued to stare at Charlie as she tried to find the words to say. Her face had by now turned completely red and all she could do was stammer. It wasn't until Charlie was about to pull back that she was forced to take action. He said, "Am I wrong? Did I jump the gun too soon? If so, we can pretend this conversation never took place." in an anxious voice. That was when she turned to her body to her side as well and grabbed his hand, forcing him to look back at her. "Don't you dare. I have been waiting for these words for so long. I always thought you just saw me as a sister and nothing more. But now that you tell me you like me back, I have no reason to hold back. So no, you aren't wrong. I do like you and I want nothing more than to be your girlfriend."

Hearing these words Charlie was clearly taken off guard for a moment before a gentle yet teasing smile covered his face. "I never said anything about being my girlfriend though. Aren't you getting ahead of yourself a bit?" Noticing the change in his voice and expression, telling her very clearly that Charlie was teasing her, Eva used the hand she had pulled Charlie's arm with to pound with her delicate fist against Charlie's chest. "Don't be so mean. I am still shaking from what you said before. It is too soon for you to be pretending it was all in my head. I still have a hard time believing it myself."

Now it was Charlie's turn to grab hold of Eva's arm, causing her to look up at his eyes that looked at her straight as he said, "Don't worry. I won't let you forget my confession so easily or dismiss it as some dream. The best way to burn a memory in someone's brain is by adding as many different type of stimuli, so let me help add a few more." Copying his fathers fast ways, he used the wrist he was holding to pull Eva towards himself. After throwing her balance off, he started this romance that was years in the making off with a kiss. Adding plenty of stimuli to the surprised Eva and ensuring that they both would never forget the day their relationship, surpassing that of brother and sister, started!

Though I planned to release two chapters for today but my internal clock decided that 4 AM was as good a time to get up as any. So, after a full day of work on a little more than four hours of sleep, my head is quite fuzzy XD. I hope I didn't make any mistakes in today's chapter and tomorrow will have the double release that was supposed to come out today.

Sorry for the changeup but right now my head is more of a decorative piece than a functional one...It took me three hours to write the remaining 300 words for this chapter. So, writing another 1000 words would take me till tomorrow XD
