Wife-doting husband

After taking care of the preparations for her surprise reveal, Jenny quickly got changed because she and Jason too had an event to attend that evening. Since they got married and Jason got more involved with company matters, the number of events they had to attend had increased by a lot. Even compared to the number of business dinners and charity events that they had to attend after Jason's eighteenth birthday had passed but especially compared to when they had just gotten engaged. Though Jenny had missed out on multiple events after his official acceptance as a CEO candidate, she had plenty to look forward to after her return. The first few of which had been a bit awkward as Jason had refused to attend most of those events when she had left and those he had attended, he had attended without her. Causing rumours to go around.

So, when she did appear by his side as his fiancé and shortly after as his wife, Jenny caused another wave of rumours and looks in her direction. Though initially having that many responsibilities had been quite strenuous, but by now she had learned to find the benefits and had gotten quite used to her life as a part-time socialite. Dressed to the nines, in a soft, loose, powder pink dress Jenny had perfectly hid the small bump for any curious eyes, while still looking as amazing as ever. Moments later she stepped out of the front door and into the car parked outside, that would take her to where Jason was.

When she arrived, Jason was already talking to some other business men and women. When he turned around and spotted Jenny, who waved at him from the top of the stairs, she could see him excuse himself and walk towards her. Jenny smiled to see that he would still drop work at any moment and even in the middle of a conversation to come to her side. Making her still feel like the most important thing and being in his life. At least for now. Once the baby arrives, who knows if he will still notice her then. Jenny thought to herself jokingly. Though deep down she knew that even if she wouldn't be his number one priority then, she would at most be at a shared first place or a second place in his ranking. Jenny had gotten halfway down the stairs when Jason arrived and put a hand around her waist. Resting it on his privileged place, which was the small of her back. A place where only he, as her husband, could place a hand.

Disregarding the presence of the other guests, Jason placed a soft kiss on her pink coloured lips as he greeted her. "How come you are here only now? I almost developed whiplash from turning around each time someone came down those steps." Jenny chuckled before answering his question. "I'm sorry. I wanted to finish the preparations for the reveal for our parents and your grandparents, which took a bit longer than I expected." With a pout and the voice of a spoilt little prince he said, "These parties aren't the same without you. You know that. So, how could you leave me here by myself for so long." Seeing the sides he was only willing to show her and hearing his perfect, sullen voice, Jenny let out another chuckle. "I am sorry. I did everything as fast as I could. I needed to finish those boxes and send them out today. Otherwise we would have to wait another day with the reveal and my mind would be preoccupied with that. Now that I finished everything, I can give my undivided attention to you."

After paying the fee of another kiss to apologize for being late, Jenny patted his shoulders, which she could reach easily as she was standing a step higher than Jason, and with an amused voice she said, "Now cheer up and let's go. You can't keep your companions waiting for too long and they especially can't see you acting like this." Jason looked at her smiling voice with narrowed, doubtful eyes. Saying, "Well, you don't look very apologetic but I suppose you did pay the fee of the fine. So, for now I will go along with your requests but I am watching you, lady in pink." As she laughed at his silly, joking, behaviour, Jenny nudged Jason shoulder in the direction of the hall in order to tell him to turn around and get moving. He slowly turned around and made his way back down the stairs, followed one step behind by Jenny, who was trying to contain her laughter before she reached the guest filled floor.

When Jason returned to the group of people he was talking to before Jenny's arrival, this time with Jenny by his side, they made some playful remarks about Jason rushing over to Jenny when she arrived. "It seems we have another wife-doting husband on our hands. I thought no one could match your father in that but it appears he has given this trait on to you." laughter erupted in the small circle of people, except for Jason who considered what he had done the bare minimum. Thinking that if they really wanted to see his doting abilities, they should look at how he took care of Jenny on a daily basis or during their own special holidays. They would be in for quite a show then. After a few more remarks towards Jason, carefully treading of course to not cross the line and upset him in the process, they turned to Jenny. "Does he always treat you like this or is this just for show? To make us old farts be jealous of a young love."
