What else...?

When Jenny came downstairs after getting dressed for the day she noticed how silent the house was. For a house that had over twenty members of staff, it should not be possible for it to be this quiet. She look around, but no matter where she looked, there wasn't a single person in sight. After walking around for a moment, she entered the dining room. There she saw a beautifully decorated table. Filled with all kinds of breakfast delicacies. French toast, fruit salad, chocolate filled croissants. waffles covered with different kinds of warm treats. As she took a seat at the table and her mouth started watering over the food in front of her, Jason walked in with another plate. He was wearing an apron and was still in his home clothes as he had been up and running since six in the morning. "Ah, I was just about to get you." With sparkling eyes Jenny asked, "What is all of this Jason? It looks amazing." Jason placed down the last plate and took off his apron that he placed over the back of one of the chairs. "This is a Jenny exclusive birthday breakfast."

When she looked at what seemed to be the last plate, she saw that he had even gone as far as baking her tiger shaped pancakes and omelets. "Ha ha ha. Are those little tigers?"

"Of course, what else would I serve a little tigress." Jenny shook her head laughingly.

Jason sat down and handed Jenny a plate, "Let's eat."

"Aren't we going to wait for your parents? Won't they be joining us? That reminds me, where is everyone else. The house seems completely empty."

"That is because it is. I gave everyone a day off. I told you that I wanted to spend your birthday alone with you and I meant it. My parents had to go to work early today and have that party later tonight, so they decided to stay at the office yesterday. Leaving just you and me."

Jenny clearly did not expect this answer and was frozen for a brief moment. She was touched. From the very start of the day, Jason had made Jenny feel loved to the point of not even missing the people who couldn't celebrate her birthday with her.

"Well go on. It won't taste as good if you let it get cold. Or are you waiting for me to plate some things for you." Jason asked with an sweet smile. Even though Jenny had woken up from his words, Jason had already reached over for her plate and had started putting a bit of everything on it before handing it back and filling his own plate.

As they ate their fill, Jenny remembered that because she didn't have any plans for her birthday up until two days ago, she hadn't taken today off from work. In fact, before the break started she had offered to work weekends as well in order to save up faster. Meaning that despite it being a Sunday, she had to go to work on her birthday. Even if it was just for a few hours, she was sure that Jason wouldn't be amused. She was sure he had put in a lot of effort in their plans for today and now she would have to ruin them. Hesitantly she looked in Jason's direction, who was grabbing seconds and thought of how to tell him. As she fiddled with her napkin she said, "Jace...I just remembered something. I didn't think that we would be doing anything today, so I didn't think about asking for a day off at work. So, I have work tonight Jace." After that she looked up at Jason, who appeared strangely calm. "I am so sorry. I completely forgot about it and it's too late to call it off now. I hope you're not mad..."

But to her surprise Jason just chuckled and said, "Why would I be mad? I was the one who informed you too late of our plans. Besides, it's your birthday. You can't do wrong on this day babe. Don't even worry about it. Since you liked my baking so much, I will use that time to bake you a big birthday cake. We can enjoy it after we come back from dinner. Just make sure you finish in time and I'll come pick you up when your shift ends." What Jenny didn't know was that Jason knew that she had to work today and had even counted on it. He had everything planned out and needed her away for a few hours to get ready.

Jenny, who wasn't aware of this plan, wanted to kiss Jason at that moment, but she was quite short and the table was huge. So, she got up and skipped around the table till she reached Jason. She put her arms around his neck and peppered him with kisses all over his face. "What did I do to deserve such a sweet and understanding guy. It's a good thing you woke us up so early. That way we can spend plenty of time with each other before it is time for me to leave." Jason chuckled at Jenny's love attack and pulled her on his lap. "That is not how you kiss someone. This is." And they shared their second 'proper' kiss of the day, and this time over breakfast. Afterwards Jenny remained on Jason's lap for the remainder of breakfast and let herself be fully pampered as Jason started feeding her. Forgetting all about his own meal.
