Under no obligation

Elizabeth's turn to finish the talk had come "I don't know what you are laughing about, but I think it is time you start talking. What is your connection to Jason? Why did he care about where you were sitting? And why were you missing at the same time Jason was missing? What are you planning here, hmm?" By now Elizabeth had lowered herself to eye level in the hope of intimidating Jenny, but was surprised to find no reaction at all. "I don't believe that is any of your business. Why should I answer your questions? We aren't friends or even acquaintances. In fact, you haven't even introduced yourself properly. What makes you think you are in a position to ask me these questions? Even if you think you can ask those questions, I am under no obligation to answer them" As Jenny was saying these challenging words, she folded her arms over each other to match Elizabeth's pose and returned her stare as well. "You dare talk back to me. I already told you who I am and you still defy me. Hmph, you had better think it over. I will give you one last chance to tell me what you are to Jason. Don't blame me otherwise if I don't play nice anymore" "Oh my, this was nice. Boy I should contact Cambridge to update the dictionary. Well, if you are as close as you claim you are to your precious prince, why don't you go ahead and ask him what I am to him. Unless..." Jenny provokingly said. Elizabeth went from arrogant to angry in a flash. "Hmph I was giving you a chance to save yourself, but if you want to take the difficult road that is fine by me. I will talk to Jason when he gets in and we will see if you will still think you are miss funny girl then?". "You think I am funny? Ah, my first compliment. Thanks! Now if you could move out of the way, I want to get ready for class" Jenny said with a bright smile. All the students were in awe of the new girl. She sure had guts to insult the future wife of Mr. Westwood. But this gave them a good show to watch, so they kept their mouths shut. Waiting for Mr. Westwood to return and put the girl in her place.

Meanwhile Elizabeth balled her fist and gritted her teeth. She had never been embarrassed this way. How dare this nobody talk to her like that. Well she can't be a complete nobody, because she was able to transfer mid-term. She must have a powerful backer, but who? Could Jason have something to do with her enrollment? While she was thinking about this, she started biting her nails. She had to think of a way to make this girl pay, but she couldn't offend Jason. She should ask him about her before attempting anything. And right on cue Jason entered the classroom. As he entered he saw how Elizabeth and her posse were leaving Jenny's desk and she was flashing a bright smile of victory. What had happened here? "What is going on here? Why hasn't class started yet? Where is the teacher?" Everyone looked away, except for Elizabeth who took this opportunity to get back at Jenny. She rushed forward towards Jason and put on her best poor maiden act. "Jason I am glad you are finally here. The teacher got sick, so we are having self study. The substitute is on his way. But before that I need you help with something." As she was saying this she glanced over at Jenny to see her reaction, however Jenny remained unmoved. Jason did not reply. He simply looked at her and waited for her to elaborate. This was all Elizabeth needed. "You see, I was talking to the new girl trying to make her feel welcome and all, but as soon as I asked her a few questions she gave me attitude. Even insulting me. Since she told me to ask you, I wanted you to clarify to everyone present who she is to you. Why did you care where she was sitting during the previous class. Is she someone important to you? If not I would like to ask you to stand up for me by teaching her a lesson."

"Hmph, that was what all of this was about. I am under no obligation to satisfy your curiosity. As far as you all are concerned, she and I are strangers. I have made Jenny a promise and I will respect that promise. I advise all of you to stop digging into this, including you Elizabeth. Until Jenny wants to tell you herself, no one will be allowed to know if and how we are connected." This made everyone even more curious than before and now they definitely knew that she was someone important to him. What kind of connection to Mr. Westwood would make you want to hide it? This was the question occupying everyone's mind. Elizabeth was feeling defeated and Jenny was more than happy to pour some salt into her wounds by whispering just loud enough for her to hear "What happened future Mrs. Westwood? He didn't seem very willing to answer your questions? He even said he was "under no obligation" to do so. Seems quite odd to say that to his future wife asking him about another woman, no? I hope you haven't ordered those wedding invitations, because he doesn't seem to know he is yours yet" Elizabeth dug her manicured nails into her hands and gritted her teeth. This stupid b*tch. How dare she talk to her like this. You just wait. This isn't over yet. You may have won this battle, but you haven't won the war.

Well I have been on writing spree as you can see. I am turning in for the night, so this will be the last chapter for now. I hope you liked what I have written so far.

Our first villain has entered the story. How will Jason and Jenny handle her? Will they find out what the connection between Jenny and Jason is? If so, how will they respond? All will be revealed in the chapters to come!

For now I wish you all sweet dreams and hopefully you will join me next time I write again :)
