Two sides

Though Nick had chased after Jenny, she had been unwilling to listen to him or to anyone for that matter. She wanted to be alone to settle her thoughts. She was furious and disappointed with Jason. Despite their blowing fight about him trying to control matters, he had still chosen to take matters in his own hands regarding Max. So, when Nick came up to Jenny at the grass fields behind the school, where she had once met up with Harry to convince him to talk to Julia when they were preparing for the blind date, she simply said, "Nick, I know you are trying to help your friend and maybe even trying to help me, but I am sorry, I am in no mood to listen right now. So, please leave for now." Not wanting to make matters worse, he did what she asked and left. But not before he sent a message to Jason to tell him where she was. Hoping that by the time he would come, Jenny would have calmed down enough to talk to him.

However by the time Jason arrived at the place in Nick's message, Jenny had already left. Jason's eyes narrowed once more, things were worse than what he had thought. She had probably assumed that Nick would pass her location along to Jason and had left when Nick did. Jason started searching around the school, at the places he thought she might go to calm herself. By now classes had long since started again, but that was the least of his worries. The fact that she was willing to skip, meant that she had been very upset, upset enough to not care or be aware of the classes she was missing. He finally found her walking in the school gardens and ran to catch up with her. He called out to her. "Jenny. Jenny! Please wait." He grabbed her by the shoulder to stop her from moving away. But when she finally turned around he got more or less the same reaction as Nick. "Jason, I don't feel like talking to you right now. You have hurt and me and you have let me down. Right now, I don't have the strength to argue with you or listen to your excuses. Just let me calm down by myself and we can talk at home."

Jason couldn't do anything more than to accept whatever Jenny wanted. Talking to her right now wouldn't help his case. Though he had chosen this path with the intention of respecting Jenny's wishes as well as he could, it still backfired due to his own stupidity. The only way to fix this situation would be apologize and explain every chance he got till she did believe him or to ride the wave out and wait for Jenny to see the kind of person Max was herself. Because with his current level of arrogance, that won't take too long. Though the second option wasn't what he wanted, he had no choice but accept whatever Jenny threw his way. So, he walked away unwillingly after saying, "Okay, whatever you need right now. But keep in mind that there are two sides to every story, so don't make up your mind before listening to mine."

The rest of the day, Jenny and Jason didn't see each other or talk to each other. They went to the remaining classes of the day, but neither of them was paying much attention. After school Jenny went to her part time job and everyone there could tell that Jenny wasn't her usual cheerful self. Her smile seemed forced and faint and her overall complexion didn't seem well. But no matter who asked, Jenny wasn't willing to talk about it. So, they let her be and hoped that whatever was troubling her, would soon be solved. Everyone but the young doctor. "What is going on with you Jenny. Boy trouble?" Jenny didn't look up and continued to prepare the charts for tomorrow as she said, "It's nothing." He did not accept this answer and said, "I know it's not nothing, but if you don't want to talk about it, suit yourself. All I care about is that it doesn't affect your work."

Jenny looked up with a forced smile, but her eyes were filled with anger and the drawn claws that were intended for someone else, ended up attacking a dishonest colleague. "Thanks for your concern, but I know how to handle myself. If you don't want my work to be affected, then you should stop wasting your time and my time by talking about problems that don't exist or at the very least are none of your concern. If a smile plastered on my face is part of my job description, I will smile however much you want. But for now I have enough to do. So, if you'll excuse me, I have to get going." With that she left and the doctor let out a deep sigh, before walking away and continuing his work. He looked over the work Jenny had done up till now and saw that she had indeed not slacked off or made any mistakes so far. Proving she, at least in that aspect, indeed knew how to handle herself. So, he decided to leave her be the rest of her shift, smiling or not. In the end, if she did her work properly, what was going on in her private life was as she said none of his concern. He just couldn't help getting involved. Everyone had bad days and a smile was not part of the uniform, it was just that he himself didn't like seeing her like this. More than he cared to admit.
