Twenty questions

After their proper reunion and after salvaging what could be salvaged of Jenny's surprise attempt, Jason addressed the important question that was hanging in the room. "So, now that we have gotten past how you got here and we have discussed the spoiled revelation, isn't it about time you tell me what brings you here? I do believe I heard something about there being a surprise. One other than you being here." Jenny's face lit up with a big smile as she was reminded of why she had come here in the first place. Getting side tracked by a secondary issue, she had almost forgotten the real surprise of today. "I won't tell you that just yet. All I will tell you is that your workday has ended and that I need you to follow me outside."

Jason's eyebrows tilted upwards as he asked, "Oh? And what is waiting for me outside?" Jenny didn't wait for Jason to ask anymore questions and neither did she have any intention of answering anymore of his questions. "All you need to know is that I have taken care of everything. You should just follow me and relax." After she said this, she grabbed one of the hands that was holding her and turned around. As she walked towards the door of the office, she pulled him along with her. While Jenny by no means possessed enough strength to actually drag him with her if he didn't intend to follow, Jason would never intentionally disappoint his Jenny and let himself be pulled along without much resistance on his part. Only slowing her pace for a brief moment in order to save his work and turn off his laptop.

"H-hold on. Let me just close a few things. I just need a second." With one of his arms being pulled in the direction of the door, he used the other to push a few buttons. Trying to do everything in the few second window he managed to create before he would further upset the wife he had just cheered back up. He had just managed to close the screen of his laptop when the impatient Jenny finally managed to take advantage of a moment of imbalance on his part to pull him forward in one sudden move. With a chuckle he responded, "I'm coming. Geez, no need to pull me through the desk. I am growing more and more curious as to what has gotten you so excited like this." Jenny just responded by saying, "Well if you want to find out, then stop stalling so much and hurry along. We have got no time to waste. We are expected before six in the afternoon and we have at least an hours drive ahead of us. If we run into traffic, then even more."

While Jenny was saying these things, they made it inside the elevator under the curious stares of the employees. Not only were they surprised to see their stern boss being dragged along by his petite, cute looking, wife but he seemed to be smiling while she did. Though the smile was faint and they were walking by so fast that they couldn't get a good look at his face, they were sure that he was looking happy. This being a side of him that was usually brought forward by Jenny's presence, made it a sight that was rare indeed considering that the interactions between this couple mostly took place outside their building or at least behind the doors of his office.

Once the two of them passed through the lobby and stepped outside the building housing the head quarters to the Westwood empire, their surprise trip could finally start. When they were standing outside, Jenny rushed over to her car that was still parked in front of the building and opened the passenger door. With full enthusiasm she said, "Hop on in." as she held the door open for him and gestured for Jason to step inside. With initial surprise, followed by immediate laughter, Jason went along with his wife's preparations. As he stepped in, Jenny even made a slight bow before she closed the door and made her way to the driver's side of the car. She quickly started up the car and they started their long drive.

On their way over they played a game of twenty questions that Jason could use to find out their destination and his surprise. When he finally guessed the right answer, followed by a game show 'Ding, ding, ding!' sound from Jenny, he reacted by saying, "Ah it seems you decided to grant my requested reward for the five golden stars. I didn't think you would be able to prepare yourself for that so quickly and you even took the lead in making the arrangements for it all. Those gold stars are of high value indeed. If I had known I would have saved them up much sooner."

As she was making her way down the last few kilometres of their journey, Jason's previous words, that she had managed to forget or suppress, flashed before her eyes. The colour from her face started draining as worries filled her mind. Only now did she realize that her excited planning was giving a very conflicting message in comparison to her earlier response to his request. A response that would now seem like an utter lie as she was driving them to a week of romance in seclusion. She might as well have been driving them to her funeral as the type of week that Jason had described was one that she did not have enough stamina for by a long shot. Trying to salvage the situation Jenny pulled herself back together as she said, "Oh funny, I recall saying that I will make you regret your choice. So, what makes you think this stay isn't for the purpose of making you regret?"

Jason responded with a cheesy line as he said, "A week with you is something I could never regret. So, I am afraid that is a promise you won't be able to fulfil and a dare you won't be able to win. But by all means, I encourage you to try it as it should certainly entertain me, adding to the already high value of this trip."
