Trail of broken hearts

After her declaration Jenny stood on her tiptoes and grabbed Jason's collar to pull him down. After that she peppered his face all over with kisses. To the point that Jason started to laugh from the silliness and because it was somehow making him feel ticklish. "Ha, ha, ha. What are you doing you crazy girl? I concede, I concede. Your debt has been paid off. I will never request compensation from you again." This made Jenny pause for a moment. "You mean that?" Jason smiled devilishly as he said, "No. I lied." and pulled Jenny close as he placed a deep kiss on her lips. Once he was satisfied and Jenny was completely out of breath, he let go of her. "Now your blame has been cleared." Jenny was flabbergasted at Jason's shameless way of getting her to stop and to get his way. His ability to lie to her guilt free and without batting an eye was noteworthy. Though he was lying about something innocent, the fact that he could say it without a shift in his voice or expression was not something everyone could do. And now that he had gotten what he wanted, he was standing by the side of the car as he had opened the door and was waiting for Jenny to get inside.

With rosy cheeks and a cheated expression she stepped inside the car under Jason's clearly amused expression. After he got in Jenny stared at him for a while as if trying to find the answers to her questions in his expression. In reality she was thinking about if and how she should tell him about the confession she had gotten from the doctor. "What? Did you not get enough out there? I don't mind going for round two." He said as he flirtingly moved his brows up and down. Jenny turned red as she looked over at the driver, who of course pretended not to see or hear anything. "No you jerk. I was just thinking about something." Jason's expression returned to normal as he asked, "Oh really, about what?" Jenny looked hesitantly as she started with, "Before I consider telling you, I need you to promise not to get angry or overreact." Jason's eyes narrowed as his mind was filled with the thought what she could want to tell him that she needed a promise like that, what could have happened in the few hours they had been apart that had her looking like this. Reluctantly he said between clenched teeth, "I promise. Now speak." Feeling the tension in the air increase, the driver put up the partition to give them some privacy. Something that they were going to need.

Jenny sighed as she saw his expression and wondered if she hadn't made it worse by making him promise that, but started explaining against her better believes. "Well, the doctor here, who is my supervisor, didn't realize that I was already engaged and he asked me out on a date when my shift ended. Apparently he likes me, but I told him that I only saw him as a coworker and told him about your existence as well." "I see. Well thanks for acknowledging my existence miss popular." Seeing the cold expression on Jason's face, Jenny let out another sigh and continued, "Please don't be that way. You don't have to worry about this matter. I handled it a lot better than the whole Max situation. I rejected the date, his request to remain friends and I already told him that I would be resigning. All I have to do now is get through the four weeks of notice that I have and then I won't have to see him ever again."

Jason finally turned around to face her, "Four weeks?! You have to be with him every night for five days of the week, walking around those empty halls alone, for another four weeks?" He turned away again and folded his arms as he ended his words with an, "That is just great." This was when Jenny became a bit annoyed, "And this is why I didn't want to tell you. You promised that you wouldn't get angry nor overreact and now you are doing both. How is the four weeks notice my fault? I did all I could to not make matters worse and to make his intentions and my intentions clear. I even quit on the spot to make sure I wouldn't make you feel bad, like I did by continuing my class representative tasks back then. After doing all that, what more do you want from me?"

Jason knew he couldn't blame Jenny for this one. She had indeed done everything right and had told him about it straight away as well. This didn't stop him from feeling annoyed by the matter. Making him rethink his 'plan' of locking her away out of sight. He couldn't let her out of his sight for a moment, without some guy getting ideas in his head about her. With another boy rejected, it seemed like she would leave a trail of broken hearts everywhere she went. Sigh, " I know it isn't your fault and you did what you should do, but it's just frustrating. It has only been a few weeks since chasing away the first pest and now you managed to get yourself another one. Maybe I should start dropping you off inside from now on. Introduce myself to future colleagues. Make it clear you are off limits from the start, so thoughts like these don't even get a chance to appear in their minds." Jenny chuckled at Jason's jealous side and it made her want to tease him, but she chose to comfort him instead. Just this once. "Sorry for keeping you so busy, but don't forget. No matter how many come knocking at my door, you are the only one I will open it for." Jason finally laughed because of Jenny's cheesy line and pulled her over into his arms, making their turbulent ride end the way it was supposed to. Calmly and lovingly.
