To-do list

When they arrived back home, they placed the still sleeping Charlie down in his bed and went straight to bed themselves as well. The next morning, while Jenny made the preparations for their surprise trip that they would be leaving on later today, the unsuspecting Jason went to the office. Jenny spent all morning packing a bag for the both of them before she called up the resort in order to confirm her reservation for the cabin she had booked. Once she was done with that, she went to get started on the final item on her to-do list, which was packing a bag for her beloved son. for this she made her way down the stairs to the first floor and headed to Charlie's room, who was still soundlessly sleeping in there as it was his napping time.

Before she entered the room, Jenny looked around for one of the staff members that was available to take the packed suitcase from upstairs and bring it down to the ground floor. Though she would probably be able to carry it down herself, Jason didn't like her carrying down heavy items down the stairs. Afraid that she would trip on something and fall, he had asked her to leave those things for him. Since he himself was at work and would not be available to do the the lifting for her, she would have to use another person's muscles. Lucky for her, one of the younger male housekeepers was walking down the hall of the first floor whom she could trouble with this task because she certainly wouldn't bother the female staff with her lifting work.

No matter how sexist that would be considered in this day and age. Jenny believed men and women to be equal but certainly not the same. Especially as a doctor to be, she was well aware of the physical differences between the two genders. Men simply had more muscle mass and were generally physically stronger than women. Meaning that it would cost the average male employees a lot less effort to carry the suitcase down than an average female employees. So, if she shouldn't be doing heavy lifting, neither should the other women for whom that weight would be a lot to carry down two flights of stairs. She wouldn't risk having one of them getting hurt in order to save her from potential danger. With this compromise between Jason's wishes and her own, she was able to move on to the next task at hand.

As she carefully entered Charlie's room, she couldn't help sneak a quick glance at the sleeping child. After staring at his angelic face for a moment, watching his small chest softly move up and down with each breath he took, she pulled herself back together and walked over to the closet holding his clothes. She packed a few outfits for him and grabbed a few things to entertain him for the next couple of days. After finishing with putting all these items in his very own, owl themed suitcase, she closed this suitcase up as well and went to carry it down to the main floor herself. She didn't ask for assistance with this one, as it was far less heavy than the suitcase for her and Jason had been. The reason she had to pack for the little guy in the first place was because he would be going away for a few days as well. Though he wouldn't be joining her and Jason on the trip, he wouldn't be staying at the Westwood mansion either.

Since, she had already asked Stephen to take over for Jason and Susan was busy with the start of the new school year, she couldn't have them watch Charlie as well while she and Jason would be away. So, instead of the two of them, she decided to bring in the help of two other very willing baby sitters. These baby sitters were none other than Jason's grandparents, who didn't know how fast to agree when Jenny called them and asked if they would be willing to watch over their great-grandson for a few days.

With that single, short phone call, lasting no more than two minutes, it was decided that Charlie would be having a change of scenery to look forward to as well. While Jenny would be getting two free, high quality baby sitters, they would be getting a gift in the form of a type of joy only the sweetness of a young child, one's own great-grandchildren could bring. After all, they were the two people who had been waiting for Charlie's arrival before the idea of making him even existed in Jason and Jenny's mind. Their love wasn't wasted on Charlie as he too was quite fond of them and would surely repay their efforts with his sweet words and actions. Especially after his ride over to their house with Jenny, who would tell him all the things he could and should do and say. Words that would certainly result in some heart melting. Including that of his widely feared great-grandfather that had as big of weak spot for him as a person could have.
