Their first dance

Two hours had passed since the start of the party and people were slowly getting impatient as their curiosity grew with each person they talked to and each rumor they heard. Finally Susan stepped on the stage the string quartet was playing on and announced "Welcome everyone and thank you for coming to the engagement of my son Jason. You have all been very patient and now it is time for us to move the party to the main hall. We have worked for multiple weeks to turn this into a hall worthy of my son's engagement party and to reveal the identity of my soon-to-be daughter-in-law. Just like how it is between my husband and I, I believe that opposites attract and similarities stay together. So we have searched for a girl who possessed enough opposites to allow them to find attraction with each other, but enough similarities to make them find a connection that lasts a lifetime. Jason and his bride-to-be have been getting ready at a nearby location and will join us soon. So until then please enjoy yourselves and join us to celebrate this joyous occasion. Now everyone follow me as we enter the main hall."

Susan stepped off the stage as she finished her short speech and instantly a murmur spread over the crowd. Where the talk of the party was first about the main hall, it was now on who the girl could be that conquered the Devil's heart and gained the approval of the Westwoods. The invite had only said they were invited to the "Westwood engagement party", leaving everyone to guess who the other party could be. They followed her to the entrance of The Ice Castle and as the doors were opened by the two workers guarding the door, everyone's jaws fell to the floor. One by one they followed Susan and stepped into the hall, walking as slowly as they possibly could so that they could take it all in as they passed by it. With the number of guests it was impossible for them to be able to turn around for the time being, so they had to make every moment count. Among the guests were many of the family members and friends from both sides of the family. Where Jenny's side did not know who Jason was and had yet to meet him, Jason's side had yet to meet Jenny. So they were just as curious as the regular guests to finally see the both of them. Another hour had passed when everyone had finally gotten a drink of choice and found their way to their assigned seats. Some guests were still walking about admiring everything, they were the ones to enter last, and others were talking and speculating with the people at their table.

Suddenly the lights went out, the string quartet started playing the tunes of Etta James's - At last and the seemingly thousands of small crystal lights started lighting up the ceiling like a starry night sky. White and light pink cherry blossom petals started falling from the ceiling to create the illusion of snow falling from the sky and a section from the ceiling started lowering. Revealing two glass shoes and giving the female singer, who had joined the other musicians on stage, started singing. As the swing carrying the girl with the Cinderella-like shoes was lowering, a figure appeared from the dark. He headed for the dance floor and held his hands behind his back as he waited for the girl to reveal herself. The entire hall was filled with the sound of people's gasps. The man who revealed himself was non other than one of the guests of honor, Jason! All eyes were turned back to the slowly lowering swing that would reveal the other guest of honor. As Jenny was low enough for everyone to see another round of gasps crossed the room like a wave. Followed by a silence of admiration as Jason took Jenny's hand after a small bow and helped her off the swing. He pulled her close and both of them opened the dance floor with their first dance.

With every swing, Jenny's dress sparkled. With every turn another part of the crowd could lay their eyes on the beautiful woman that was Jenny. She had always been a pretty girl, but with her hair and make up done, wearing the dress that she was wearing, she looked like an angel that had come down from the sky instead of a princess lowered from the ceiling. She was wearing a dress with a sweetheart neckline. The top of the dress was embellished with hand sown diamonds and had an ice blue color. From the waist down the ice blue top split open into a flowy cape going over into a small train. The train looked simple, but their dance underneath that beautiful ceiling, revealed the tiny details on the dress. Just like the room they were dancing in, to see all there was to see, they had to look more than once and from different angles. You could hear an "ooh" and "aah" when people had caught a glimpse of what was to be seen.

The satin fabric had a pattern of snowflakes, revealing themselves when the light hit from the right angle. At the bottom of the train a few of the snowflakes had been brought to live by handmade embellishments containing small crystals to make them sparkle when the light hits them. The split revealed a snow/silver white satin dress covered with different hand sown details. Making it seem like Jenny had emerged from snow and her dress had been covered with small pieces of shimmering ice. To finish the look she had worn the diamond necklace with the blue sapphire and her matching engagement ring. Jason had given her the earrings to complete the set earlier today along with a small diamond tiara carrying through the ice flowers in the theme and finishing off her regal look. Jenny looked absolutely stunning and made everyone else feel like they were wearing garbage bags instead of the couture dresses they were wearing. No one would be able to top her look for tonight. Not now and not for a long time to come. If she wanted to make a good first impression, she had succeeded. After tonight no one would dare to question if she was suited for Jason. At least not based on looks!

As promised another chapter. I hope you like it! Tomorrow will be about the rest of the party and will mainly focus on Julia, harry and two unexpected guests. It will be a double release, so look forward to it!
