The wedding march

Jason headed down the isle first, walking with large strides, as the guests looked at him with anticipation. After he had reached the alter, the music was started and the bridesmaids came through the first door and walked across the room to put their arm through the arm of their designated groomsman before walking down the isle towards Jason. Once they reached the alter, they separated and the men stood beside Jason and the woman stood on the opposite side, waiting for Jenny to arrive. After all the bridesmaids had been brought to the front by their groomsmen, the music changed and the flower girl, who was none other than Anne, walked out and started scattering deep red flower petals. However, Jason didn't notice her at all as his eyes were focused on the door opening, where Jenny would walk out.

Jenny took a deep breath before she stepped through the first door. She would be given away by her mother as her father was no longer alive. Though Mary had caught a glimpse of her Jenny in her wedding gown, seeing her with her long trained veil and her regal crown, she felt that the daughter she had always considered her little princess had indeed become one for this day. With tears in her eyes, she looked at her walk towards her slow paced, revealing her nervousness. When Jenny reached the second door, she put her hand through her mother's arm, who then covered Jenny's hand with hers. She patted the back of her hand, before they both stepped out and walked down the isle on the wedding march. Her eyes fixed on her dear husband to be, just as his eyes were fixed on her. With each step forward, she felt her heart beating faster and louder. Till the point she was convinced that it was loud enough for everyone present to hear.

Though Jason knew that his mind would be blown by the sight of Jenny in her wedding dress, what he had imagined was nothing compared to the real deal. She looked like an angel. Feeling like Paolo had really outdone himself for today. He had promised perfection and he managed to deliver something that felt beyond perfect if that was even an option. Completely mesmerized he watched her come over to him and with each step he had to fight harder to hold back the urge to step down the alter and close in that remaining distance himself. To walk over and grab hold of her and take her away so he could have her all to himself. The slow paced wedding march felt like torture. Never had he hated a tradition or a song more than right now.

When the moment was finally there and Mary and Jenny had reached the end of the isle, Jason walked over to grab Jenny's hand as Mary 'gave' Jenny away. But before he took a step back to the alter, he brought himself down once more to hug his mother-in-law. Something which surprised both mother and daughter. As he had his arm around Mary he whispered the words, "Don't forget, you are gaining a son and not losing a daughter. Thank you for entrusting me with her happiness." in her ear. Before smiling at her warmly and turning back to where the second main event would be taking place. A smile which was returned by Mary who mouthed the word 'Thank you' before wiping away the single tear that streamed down her face. Seeing this, Jenny felt more than ever that she was definitely marrying the right person. Even if she used up all her life's worth of luck, she wouldn't be able to find someone who treasured her and her family more than Jason did. Maybe she had used it all up to meet him in the first place. Even if she had, she was sure that he was well worth it.

Everyone watched this scene unfold with a sense of shock. Though they couldn't see Mary's face during all of this, they did see Jason's. Never did they expect to see THE Jason show kindness and love to someone other than Jenny. No one noticing the poor ring bearer, little James, who was walking behind Jenny. The only ones that showed something other than shock were Susan and Stephen and his paternal grandparents. Susan was looking with tears in her eyes as she saw with her own eyes what kind of man her stubborn boy had become, feeling surprised that it was affecting her as much as it did. Stephen had pulled her towards him as he whispered to her, "Our boy has become a fine man. We can be proud as parents and you can be proud of yourself for picking the woman that changed his life." Susan looked up at him with loving eyes, feeling he always knew just what to say, before she gave him a kiss before her son could give one to his bride.

Once both Jenny and Jason were standing on the alter, the minister started speaking. In turn they were made to repeat after him as he recited the traditional vows and for the second time that day they exchanged the words "I do" and once more they were pronounced as husband and wife. However, unlike the first ceremony, this time they exchanged rings. Leaving something to be unique for this ceremony as it came second. Making Jenny feel as if Jason had truly thought of everything, despite having to plan this out in such a short amount of time. As Jenny finally put on the ring that had belonged to Jason great-grandmother permanently, it became her turn to put Jason's ring around his ring finger. The ring she had chosen, was one that was a surprise to many, but formed a perfect ending to their fairy tale romance and the perfect start to the next chapter in their lives as a married couple. Holding a special meaning to more than one person at the wedding, including of course Jenny and Jason themselves.

Here is today's chapter. I hope you enjoy and tomorrow we will continue right where I left off :D
