The sex of the baby
From the first day, to her first week to the end of her first month. Time was passing by quickly and Jenny had become fully accustomed to the work at the hospital by the time that their friend Harry came to join her. Despite getting along perfectly fine with her new colleagues, she was happy to have Harry by her side again. She needed someone who wasn't treating her like some carnival ride or a celebrity, interviewing her about her personal life any chance they got and looking at her like she had just solved world hunger. Someone who wasn't impressed with her husband's identity or by the fact that she knew many of the doctors there by name. Someone who would treat her like any other person there.
When she met Harry at the entrance to the hospital, she approached him from the back and placed her hand on his shoulder as she said, "Good to have you back Harry. I was beginning to miss your silly jokes. Are you ready to start putting what you have learned to practice?" Harry who had initially been startled by Jenny, laughed softly as he said, "Good to be back. I used these past two months to brush up my jokes and I am ready to let you make a fool of yourself. How about you? Did you already impress people with your skills? Have they asked you to skip your specialisation and become the head of some department or something?" Now it was Jenny who was laughing softly before she said in a dramatic voice, "No. Not you too! I was counting on you to balance that kind of energy out."
After the both of them let out a chuckle, Jenny asked, "How is Alice doing? Has she wrapped you around her little finger yet?" Harry let out a deep sigh, "Oh boy, don't get me started. That girl is so naughty already, yet she has me so wrapped that I can't even get mad at her when I see that little cheeky laugh of hers. But I loved being able to spend some more time with her and Julia and now I can start working with a clear mind. Plus, I was able to go see Elizabeth before she gave birth so that was good as well. I even went to see little Anna and Eva. Alice seems to love them and I am positive they will become good playmates with her and Amelia since they are so close in age. Speaking of pregnant women, how are you doing?"
Jenny smiled brightly as she replied, "I am doing great. Now that Charlie is on board, I have no worries anymore and I can simply try to enjoy this pregnancy. Tomorrow I have my second ultrasound and I will finally find out the sex of the baby and I plan on taking Charlie with me again so he can find the sex along with us. The more I involve him in all of this, the more I hope he will feel like a part of this instead of bystander who will get affected by it. He is showing more interest on how to be a good big brother and he has even started speaking to the baby every night before he goes to bed. Isn't that adorable!?" Harry was glad to see that his friend was doing well and that Charlie wasn't causing trouble for her anymore. He knew she was very worried about him, which affected her feelings on the pregnancy as a whole.

With these jokes and talks among these close friends Harry's first day came and went as well and the day of Jenny's second ultrasound came along. With Charlie in one hand and using the other to hold Jenny's hand, the family of three headed to the OBGYN's office and all three of them closely watched the small monitor that would soon show the image of their unborn child. After confirming that the baby was growing well and everything seemed in order, they got the question they had been waiting for. "Do you want to know the sex of the baby?" All three of them nodded yes and with a bit of a chuckle the doctor said, "Very well. It seems you are going to be the proud parents of a little baby girl."
It appeared that this was the news they had hoped for as their faces lit up. Jenny turned to Jason and with teasing eyes said, "Well Jace, it appears your wish will come true. A little girl you can dote on. Now all we have to wait for is to find out whether she will most resemble me or you to complete that image you had in mind." Jason simply answered with an, "It appears so." He grabbed Jenny's hand and kissed it. He kept their hands pressed to his lips as his eyes remained locked on the screen of the ultrasound machine. Jenny chuckled as her eyes shifted from him to Charlie, who appeared equally drawn to the image on the screen.

The initial effect the meeting with Eva and Anna had on Charlie, was strengthened by the news of Jenny having a girl as well. Not only did he know stick to Jenny's growing belly before bed but also every day as soon as he came back from school. Telling his little sister all about his day before he had even told his parents and grandparents. Apparently he had also spread the news of him gaining a little sister to all that were willing to hear it at his school. Causing Jenny to receive a lot of congratulatory wishes the next time she was able to pick him up from school.
Aside from that, from that day on, Charlie was adamant on visiting the twins more often in order to practice and observe for when his own baby sister would come along. Seeing Charlie be so caring to those little girls and having such a deep interest in them, made Jenny feel touched. She would take every chance to watch him as he watched over them and snap pictures whenever he wasn't looking. Feeling happy that his attitude towards this upcoming change in their lives had become so positive in such a short time. Proving that Jason was right once again about how the situation would play out and all their little boy needed was some time and to get a better image of what a having a sibling would mean.
