The move to England

One by one they came inside the living room and awkwardly hid them missing her with boyish behavior. One gave her a punch on the arm and said "Hey, nerd. You back already". Her oldest brother put her in half a choke hold and ruffled her hair. The last one gave her something that resembled a hug, but masked it with a tickle attack. She had expected nothing more and nothing less from them. She laughed after they had all headed into the kitchen and joined them as she prepared breakfast for herself. They all sat down together to enjoy the meal and listened to Jenny's stories and she showed them her ring. She told them all about his proposal and about the second ring that was still waiting for her back in England and would serve as her wedding ring. Once they saw the engagement ring and the pictures of what would become her wedding ring, they were left speechless for a minute. Those rings must be worth a fortune. But before long, one of them said "Well, he might have gotten your approval, but he won't be able to marry you unless he get's an okay from us three. We will test if he is a man who deserves marrying someone from our family or not". The other two brothers quickly chimed in and Jenny worried over Jason's fate as she showed an awkward smile. This was an obstacle he would have to face.

After breakfast, Jenny headed to a small place nearby where she had agreed to meet up with her friends. They too were all too curious about what had happened during her week away and what this would mean for their long time friend. It took her 15 minutes by car to reach the lunchroom they were supposed to meet and when she entered it didn't take her long to find the group of friends. All she had to do was follow the sound to the loudest party there and sure enough the table where she ended up was where she found the three familiar faces. Jenny had never been much of a hugger, so she waved as she said "Hi girls, did you miss me?!". The girls returned her small wave and ushered her to sit. As soon as she sat down, the question torpedo was launched at full speed. Linda was the only one who had remained a bit more quiet and she had good reason for being so, because she was focused on one particular detail that the other girls apparently hadn't noticed yet. Suddenly her voice broke the seemingly never ending questioning of the other two girls. "Why is there a ring on your ring finger? Is that an engagement ring?" Finally the question Jenny had been waiting for and dreading at the same time was asked. She was excited to tell them about the good news, but she knew what it meant and that was a conversation she did not want to have yet could not avoid. So after a short silence and with her friends eager and questioning eyes pointed at her Jenny said "..Yes." Her friends instantly cheered from joy. They were so excited for her, but seeing Jenny's expression they toned it down and started having a bad feeling about this. "Jenny, why don't you seem excited? I know it isn't news to you anymore, but I had expected a bit more than this..?" Kim asked. Jenny's gaze had turned to the table and she started staring at her hands that were cross linked into one another and she was rubbing her thumbs over each other. Her friend Kelly's mind went in a completely different direction as she asked, "Are you not happy to be engaged to him? Did they force you? But you seemed happy before?". The only one who was thinking in the right direction was Linda. "Does this have something to do with him living in England..? Are you leaving us?". Jenny's hands stopped moving and she slowly nodded her head. She looked back up and her eyes were a bit red as she told them what she and Jason had agreed upon. Her friends were shocked. Somewhere deep down they knew that this was eventually going to happen, but they never thought it would happen so soon. They were going to lose their close friend in less than a week?! They were lost for words. Jenny tried comforting them by telling them that she would try to visit often and they could video-chat. They were always welcome to visit as Westwood mansion had plenty of rooms to spare. But even Jenny knew that that wouldn't be the same, so her enthusiasm died down after a bit as well and they just sat there for a while. After accepting reality, they decided to focus on the fun things to come. Jenny told them all about Westwood mansion and the beautiful house in the city and they started planning their first visit, which would be to attend Jenny's engagement party.

The rest of the week was filled with formalities and packing. She handed in her letter of resignation to her job, she applied for a school transfer along with her mother as she was still minor and said goodbye to her teachers and classmates. All that was left was packing. This was something that she had pushed back multiple times, because she was stuck on what to bring along and what not. With only two days left before the move to England, there was no more room for pushing back. After much thinking she had finally made some decisions and could finally start. She had decided that she wasn't going to leave her room bare, because this would sadden her mother even more and if she left certain things here, it would make it easier when she came to visit. Besides, from what she had seen till now from how the Westwood's operated, she was certain that they had prepared everything for her already including clothes to wear. This made packing really difficult and brought her to her second decision to only bring along things that had emotional value, a few books she thought would be useful and a few pictures. She would leave all other things behind. It wasn't like she wasn't going to ever return and she didn't want it to feel like that either, so this felt like the best choice. After closing up the last box, she went to bed. Tomorrow after dinner it was time for her to leave, little did she know that everyone had planned a going away party for her to send her off.

As promised I am wrapping up the move today, let's end it with a party ?
