The first night (1)

The moment someone suggested that they should call it a night and go to bed, Jenny was happy. Though she had slept on the plane and car ride over, that kind of sleep cannot be compared to a good nights rest in a bed. She had caught herself dozing off a few times in Jason's arms, but each time she rubbed the sleep out of her eyes and forced herself to stay awake as she didn't want to be the first to go to bed. Now that she could finally go to bed, she was faced with another problem. How was she to sleep when he was in the same bed with her. How could she sleep peacefully, with the fear that every movement or touch could provoke or entice him. Even if he did nothing, being able to feel him lying next to her, hear his breath, would be enough to keep her awake all through the night. Though she had been in the same situation when she was dozing off in his arms, somehow everything becomes different once regular clothes are exchanged for sleepwear and a sofa is changed for a bed.

Jenny had convinced Jason to go on ahead, saying she wanted to ask Julia something. Instead of asking something, she was pacing back and forth in the living room. All the others had already returned to their room, she was the only one still out here. No one to talk to, no one to distract her, just she and her thoughts. After some time she still hadn't thought of a solution, so she headed upstairs. Lost in thought she walked into the bathroom, only to run into Jason who was taking a shower. Instantly she closes her eyes and turns around instinctively. "Jason, why is the door unlocked when you are taking a shower?" "Why would I lock it, when the only person who would enter this room and the bathroom would be you?" "Because you are naked!" "That's what the mist is for babe, so that nothing can be seen. Plus even if something could be seen, you would be the only one with whom it wouldn't be a problem if they did see something." "It might not be a problem for you, but it is a problem for me!" After saying this she walks out and closes the bathroom door behind her. With a reddened face she tries to distract her mind from what she saw, by busying herself to find her pajamas.

Once she found what she was looking for, she hears Jason turning off the shower and opening the door. She looks up to see him walking out with nothing more than a towel. Jenny's already red face, turns even more red as she darts up and enters the bathroom herself. She locks the door as she tries to calm her heart and takes a shower herself. After a few minutes she steps out and changes in her pajamas. She wipes the fog off of the mirror, so she can start brushing her teeth. As the image clears up, she sees that when she picked her pajama's for this vacation she did not take Jason's presence into account. She had picked a cute sleep dress that was light and airy, but now that she was looking at herself, she noticed it was also quite revealing and could even be considered seductive under these circumstances. She sighs to herself as she thinks how this is another thing that has turned into a problem now that her image of sleeping with just the girls, had been changed to her sleeping next to Jason.

She put on one of the bathrobes hanging in the bathroom, unlocked the door and peeked through the gap of the door, where she saw Jason standing in front of the balcony with his towel in his neck and nothing but a pair of shorts on. The moment he heard the door unlock, he turned and walked over. "Are you done in the bathroom?" Jenny nodded as she walked out and sat on the bed to floss. She was still wearing the bathrobe as she was contemplating whether she would sleep in the dress for tonight and head out first thing tomorrow to the shopping center to buy something new, or borrow one of Jason's t-shirts and wear her beach shorts for this week.

When she thinks he is done in the bathroom, she heads over to throw away the thread of floss and wash her hands. She turns off the tap when suddenly she sees Jason coming in from the corner of her eyes and stand behind her. She turns around abruptly, ready to leave, when she bumps into Jason's well shaped chest. With her hands against his soft skin she turns her face away shyly. "W-why are you still only dressed in those shorts. Don't you have pajamas with you?" Jason laughs at this question as he replies "What more would you like me to wear? Don't tell me that with three brothers at home, you still don't know what the 'pajamas' of a guy is?" "I can't sleep next to you, with you only wearing t-that." Slightly frustrated Jason says, "What do you mean? Do you want me to wear more to bed now, in this hot weather with you sleeping next to me, than I do back in England? What is the difference between this and my swimming trunks?" Jenny not having a logical answer or a good comeback, replied with just a "It just is, okay!" She shakes her head and says "Never mind. I can't do this." and leaves the room.

Jason is dazed as he tries to grasp what just happened. After a few seconds of staring into nothing, he blinks and snaps out of it. He takes a shirt from the bed, before running after her. Jason finds Jenny by the pool, where she is staring at the sea and using the nights breeze to clear her mind. He walks up to her and hugs her from behind. "Hey". "Hey.." "What happened just then?" Jason asks gently. Jenny, who can feel his heart beat, realizes he must have been running to find her. She shrugs her shoulders as she replies "I don't really know. All I can tell you is that I am really nervous about all of this. I wasn't exactly counting on staying in the same room with you, much less in the same bed. Now that the moment is there and everything is becoming so real, I don't know how to deal with it. Just the thought of sleeping next to you, while you are half naked, makes my heart go into overdrive. You being seemingly calm about all of this, isn't really helping I guess." Jason sighs as he rubs Jenny's arms to keep her warm. "Who says I am calm?"
