The best prevention...

One after another, messages from their close friends were flowing in. None of them could seem to believe the news. Be it the friends in England or those back in the Netherlands, they seemed like they couldn't believe their eyes. Only when Jenny sent them a picture of the ultrasound did they have no other choice but accepting another one of their friends being pregnant so shortly after the other. The only exception to this being Elizabeth, who had no trouble believing the news because she had already suspected it last night.

Feeling lied to she playfully sent a message saying, 'You needed to wear a push-up bra because of the straps hmm? You minx! I can't believe you lied to me like that and to think I actually believed you.' Though the others in the group were confused as they had not been present at that particular conversation, Jenny herself chuckled as she read the rest of the messages. After the initial congratulatory messages and well wishes, the messages of the group were becoming more silly in nature as the only couple that was not expecting, and had no plans of having babies any time soon, started sharing their precaution measures.

Harry couldn't believe that he as a future doctor hadn't noticed that she was pregnant. Not only that, with the rate their friends were getting pregnant, he was also starting to get worried for his own situation. Sending a message, 'Julia, you had better steer clear from those two and our patient zero Sophia for the time being. Because they might all be fine and dandy with becoming parents so soon, I for one am no way near ready!' This seemed to have caused everyone in the group to start laughing as they sent messages one after the other, with either a laughing emoji or the words 'Ha ha'. The only one who didn't was the other party involved in Harry's warning, Julia herself. She replied with a, 'I am on it. I am applying for a stay at the dorms here because I can't risk there being a contamination in the water. That should give me a safe distance from the two of them. From now on until graduation, you are double wrapping before any potential activities that could potentially result in offspring.'

Jenny decided to reply to their messages with a bit of advise. 'The best prevention is abstinence!' Elizabeth jumped on the teasing wagon as she added, 'Jenny is right. Better to be safe than sorry. As you can see by our cases, accidents can always happen. No telling if you will be that 0.0001%.'

Jason replied with a piece of advise of his own, 'Infertile people can't get people pregnant either. If you are that concerned and want assistance, I am happy to help you with that. I have heard that some proper trauma can do the trick.'

Without elaborating, all the boys knew immediately what he was insinuating and could feel the pain that would be accompanied by Jason's 'solution'. There was no surprise that his 'kind offer' was met with instant rejection in the form of a 'NO THANKS! I would rather raise triplets by myself than accept your help for this particular matter.' Another batch of laughter expressions was released into the group after which Jason replied, 'Bummer. Don't say I didn't try to help you. Well, if you ever change your mind, you know where to find me.'

During the back and forth messaging with their friends, Jenny and Jason had moved towards the sofa in the living room, where they had comfortably taken a place in the far corner. Snuggled up together in their matching robes. The robes had been a gift for their wedding and had become a favourite of theirs. For what they were doing now, it was perfect. Leisurely, crawled up in the heated room, waiting to be called for the special breakfast that Stephen and Susan insisted on preparing to celebrate the news. Well it would be more accurate to say that Susan insisted and Stephen was pulled along as a willing victim or a casualty to the cause. As they were waiting, Jason was holding his phone in one hand, which he had wrapped around Jenny, and was using the other to gently stroke Jenny's stomach. Using this method to 'hold' both his wife and child at the same time.

After reading his message, Jenny nudged Jason playfully in her laughter at his remarks in the group. "Stop teasing the poor the guy. We might still need them as a babysitter in the future." Jason defended his actions by saying, "Hey, you were the one trying to convince them to become abstinent. If anything, that has the power to get them to keep their distance from us and potentially cause Harry to unfriend us as much as my suggestion does. So, if we lose a babysitter, we will be both to blame for teasing a worried couple." Ending his rebuttal with a chuckle.

Their little back and forth in the group chat had just ended when Stephen walked into the room where they were sitting to call them in for breakfast. When Jenny and Jason walked in, they were greeted by a breakfast table that had all shades of blue and pink that food could create. Since, they had not expected the news and since the gender of Jenny and Jason's child was still unknown, Susan and Stephen had to be creative. Decorating a plate with raspberries and blackberries, using their natural pink and blue(ish) colours. Strawberry and blueberry smoothies as drinks and using a mixture of these ingredients on top of the freshly baked pastries filled with yellow and regular cream. With the pastries and pancakes being in the shape of rattles, baby faces and even small toast cut outs spelling their future titles, the table had been set and completed.

After a cheerful "Tada!" from Susan, who was quite proud of what they had managed to create and a collected "Let's eat." from her assistant Stephen, the family of four sat down at the festive breakfast table to celebrate the planned arrival of their fifth member.
